    WOW, THIS VIDEO BRINGS BACK MEMORIES ! I owned an 87 gn wich I purchased in 87 and I was in my teens! Back then dyno tech and eastern performance were the nearest tuners near me on the east coast , NJ ,Staten Island, Pa...Since then I've had many quick , fast, exotic cars but the Gn will never be forgotten... Looking for one now !

    Man. Thank you for posting this vid. I've had my GN for 8 years and it's been sitting for 5 of them because i had given up and life got in the way. It's always ran poorly and the "community" has been completely unhelpful. In all my research I had no clue that this was something that you could do. It's as if this was some kind of gatekept secret. The self righteous attitude of people who live on forums has just made me bitter to the experience of owning one of these cars. Hopefully this vid can get me somewhere. Thanks 🙌🙌

    This is great Justin. Thanks a ton. I'm chasing a KR issue that confuses me where I'm hitting about 10.3 on my wideband which is bottomed out rich and in the .800s on the SM which is also rich but still seeing some KR numbers. So it may be false. I have a noisy turbo shield. Regardless, I'm going to tune anyway as it's summer and can get brutally muggy. Great to see a full video of a simple tune for WOT. Really helpful to me as I've learned and still learning about TRs as this is my first one I've owned. Also, your other video are great about maintenance especially about plug gap. I'm running way wider at like .034 so I'm going to start there first. Great stuff. Thanks again.

      I think I removed the plug in the passenger side heater box. It’s a rubber plug with 2 or 3 thick wires coming through. I think one is yellow. At first I left the plug popped out. Then I realized if you pull the plug hard it will pop into place with the wide band wires on the side of it

    Hey Justin.. great video! On your Alky setup.. do you always leave the blue gain knob on #6 and only add or subtract fuel thru the chip?? Is the blue gain knob just a rough setting for fuel? Thanks

    • @J-Finelli231
      @J-Finelli231  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I believe the blue Alky gain knob actually controls the pressure at which it sprays. But the volume of meth is the same. The main brain box makes those changes. I leave it at 6 and make fuel changes through the chip.

  • @BobSmith-ju1qw
    @BobSmith-ju1qw 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thanks for the video. I have a question, I notice on your car the sending unit is pretty close to the turbo. If you had a choice would you place the bung close to the turbo or near the end of the down pipe? The instructions for my gauge say 4" to 5" from the turbo and some of the Buick community think it is too close. I am interested in your opinion. Thanks

    • @J-Finelli231
      @J-Finelli231  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I’d leave it right where it is. TA Perf puts them here as well as RJC. The car has performed well all these years and never had a AFR related failure. I can’t think of any reason to put it down stream unless it’s just easier for someone to add into the lower exhaust

  • @TurboBuRick
    @TurboBuRick ปีที่แล้ว

    Are you letting the car shift while tuning wot? I think I heard a shift on a pull. Also why are you not hitting both buttons on the scanmaster to show the mph the number was recorded? That may be the reason you see inconsistency s on the scan master. My scanmaster snapshots are rock solid on 3rd gear pulls with no up or down shift.

    Hi Justin, Question. I just installed a accufab fuel pressure regulator. Is it normal for the pressure to drop down in the fuel rail after the car is turned off? When turning the car on it seems fine and idles good and shows good pressure but once key is turned off the pressure drops again is this normal? And thank you for providing these videos!!!

    • @J-Finelli231
      @J-Finelli231  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, yes. Very normal. Pressure will drop with the key off. The next time you turn the ignition on, you will hear the fuel pump do a quick prime. This puts pressure at the rail for start up.
