- An upcoming change to all #everquest servers thats currently on the test server will make a huge change to #teek especially for casters and may shake up the meta!

First let me say, I am mostly a "classic" type of person. Meaning EQ should be more like when it was back in the old days. BUT, I don't view Teek as a "classic" server, it's not. So why not do the Tower if you can. You should. Have fun on this server, it's changing the way EQ is played, sure. Sometimes we need a bit of change of pace.
I’ve enjoyed it and sure like the loot! sure it’s destroyed a lot of the loot market rip cloak of flames etc agree it’s not classic and that’s ok! P99, quarm etc exist for those markets
I personally unsubbed my account when I found out about the out of era tower gear. Unfortunately I learned about it too late and Db already has my money lol. I certainly don’t understand the logic behind that idea. Maybe the next server everyone will start at level 60 and just have to hail an npc for BiS gear lol. I’ve officially become a “that’s not music!” Old man who longs for the way things used to be in eq :p hope everyone’s having fun anyways though! Cheers.
@@MrTooljello I think the tower gear is an equalizer for the raider and for the people that cannot or dont want to raid. Me for example, I am a casual , very casual. Love to level tons of alts. Hardly I have time to raid, so at 55 I am getting these tower gear for my toons. This gear really made some quests or raid loot obsolete but not on all slots of the toon.
@@teseutressoldi3972 right on. I totally get this is nice for some players for sure. And I guess it’s one of those things. Any changes you make to an old game are going to please some people, and annoy others lol. And if the majority of the people playing like it, then that’s the right decision. I’m just in the grumpy minority lol. I hope everyone is enjoying though. I’ll just have to read into the footnotes more carefully before decide to sub next time. I had no idea about the tower stuff till they already got my money, and their website to make a ticket for help with a refund was so janky I couldn’t even get it lol. Ah well.
@@MrTooljello It is not just the tower gear that make this not "classic" eq. it is too the /pick feature, the absurd nerf on magician's pets, the presence of Agents of Change. I personally believe that the /pick was more harmfull to the classic experience that of the gear on the tower, because in the old times people would spread more in the world searching for a place to xp. On Teek there was literally 100 stances of Unrest, why go to distant places like timorous deep or mistmoore if you can just go to "another dimensional unrest" to do xp.
I've played enough TLPs that I don't mind them switching it up with tower. It makes it more enjoyable to play since during raids everyone is much more relaxed since it's much easier now.
Tower ruined leveling for me... What's the point of having Mischief style loot and then invalidating 99% of the items that drop? Makes no sense to me. I figured it would also invalidate raid loot, so I stopped logging in. Sounds like that out of combat change will make Alchemy worth less (but not worthless), make fungi irrelevant (99.5% of items now useless?)... but at least makes Enchanter's slightly less essential in caster groups. Just seems like awful decision making all around, after such a promising conceptual idea for the 25th.
Fungi still relevant as that’s in combat regen! Some raid loot has been made irrelevant, cloak of flames and soon to be ynuubs earring, can’t wrong you there. The tower items won’t be as good as raid loot comes planes of power, which is really when raiding starts!
@@TBCNexusI think there's Tower Loot for Level 65 though as well, no? Every 10 levels? So once PoP comes out, people will be coming back to the tower to get that gear, I would imagine. Does it line up with PoP gear or, like this, is it much better than era?

Casters are way beyond classes like monk and are on every classic tp
@@Merknilash Teek first 60 sham here, These thinggs continueing to be introduced and slowly driving out the TLP player. See there are these hard core people like you and you guys dont care about any other players but those that want it your way. See some play for the limits and the feel. Hell turn focus items on and the whole nine. There is no point and the casuals payingg 50% of the bills should just stop cause that reason your playing the TLP weekend hero dad is all gone. See as a game developer I understand 100% the problem these companies have made for themselves and their contradictory player base.... Greed is bad
I am getting the itch to play EQ again , but the tower is a turn off, it doesn't blend into EQ during that time era. =)

Tower gear is dumb on early TLP I don’t have any urge to raid at all. Makes so much gear pointless
OOC regen isn’t in the game for reason, it’s not scaled for it. I hope everyone enjoys the toxic dungeons since most people won’t respect camps anymore.

Are you saying Tormax isn't a normal TLP? Or what did you mean by that? Like a P99 type TLP with the original experience etc?

Tormax is a "normal" TLP (aside from these new regen changes and tower gear), but nobody is playing there, lol
future tower gear should be nerfed for TLP for sure. it shouldn't be BIS. it makes raiding obsolete almost. It should be usable gear for sure, but its tuned to live servers, not TLP.
I was never really that interested in Teek, but having the Tower gear plus the pre-GoD out of combat regen just makes, well, everything up to GoD laughable. People are absolutely steamrolling content, and it's just going to get a lot easier with the regen changes. But it'll all catch up to itself right around GoD (and then the new TLP(s) arrive, lol), and will feel fairly "normal" again. DPG just absolutely broke the early TLP cycle is all.
Um out of era stuff, not scaled? What is the point then of a TLP? Glad I decided not to try this out. Not the same at all. May as well play current expansion on live. Truly disappointing, glad I took a listen.
Those items should not be available on Teek imo.
Why even play if you get everything so easy?

Love the tower , allows smaller groups of players to get shit done without having to be in a guild where the leader is a asshat and if you do the wrong pull he loses his shit ..
i see a lot of people complain about these servers with them not being close enough to classic eq. them people should go play p99 instead of complaining about the newer servers🤣🤣
Tower ruined server I spend 12 hours seeking druid gear and was still six pieces short.

I love the out of combat regen change. The tower gear is a problem. Not 60 yet, I’ll do it for the great gear, but def hurts the endgame at this time.
I haven't been paying attention - what's the tower / tower gear? Did they bring back defiant on TLPs?
I was maining an SK on launch, by lvl 41 he was decently geared, running an Argent Protector as my main wep, and I couldn’t believe how weak he was I could barely solo anything close to my lvl. I just rerolled to a necro and I already feel I’m matching the dps at lvl 16. I agree with this not being a real classic server and I’m all good with having faster med times. It just seems odd to buff casters MORE while not addressing the classic EQ issue of most melee classes being almost useless aside from their VERY specific grouping rolls
Yeah I have an SK and I think they need some major balance changes. I know they have a "hard on" for certain classes, but this is ridiculous, why do sk's suck so much on this server? It's not all melee character, monks still do amazing dps. I had high hopes for this server, but for now it has been a big disappointment since the second it launched.

It takes longer to leave combat when raiding though. Did they remove *that* restriction as well?
@@Jesus-bs5fl no, but there is a work around. Just camp to char select and come back and you are ooc ( will still have the timer but you will regen ooc)

This is why instead of a new TLP . They need to Start from the ground up. Re-write the Game with new code. Not Just a Graphics skin. But actually balance everything we have learned throughout the 25 years. The game can be hard like the old days but also the modern QOL stuff that was put in . Broken Quest and Factions , 3 different alchemy systems why? can be fixed and a actual progression. Also Security eliminating all the early exploits. Also the way Krono is deployed in the game. You just can't do this on the old base game. The Game in its current state is a patchwork of different things that don't make sense or relate to each other.

Enjoying teek so far and fully decked in tower gear also, but I do wonder how long until it just becomes meaningless because of the lack of item goals left. We're so far from Velious as well...
I get that it's more 'fun' for some people to just have all the stats and be unstoppable, but what do you actually do when you're unstoppable? Just farm kr? For what? So you can run 6 accounts and run through the content even more often/faster?
Top guilds are clearing all 'classic' raids in like 3 hours, just stomping everything with zerg tactics.
Even VP is a joke.
Idk, I wish at least the raid content was more involved. I felt more afraid in Guk than I did in hate or fear or VP. Idk if this is just a Kunark era issue, but the raiding is extremely lackluster and I'm disappointed I spent the time grinding to 60 to check it out.
Kunark is probably one of the worst raid expansions , it is very devoid of content, that’s aged badly. Most raids have also been trodden so so many times everyone knows what to do. It does get better, velious and luclin both add a bit but in my eyes the first raid expansion that stat to change things up is planes of power
@@TBCNexus I don't know why people come back for raiding so early expansion, it's either like watching paint dry or death.
No tower for me, ran the key quest for lavastorm, I felt like I was cheating. Didn't even do the tower itself. Got a quick 200plat, but I'm going to pass on the tower. At least for now. I like keeping it more original. Good for those that want it, I suppose.
I don't mind the tower loot at all. The gap between group and raid loot has always been to wide, to the point where I almost didn't want non-raiders in my groups because they just couldn't play at an acceptable level with their shite gear.

Dislike the ooc regen. Classic EQ was all about efficient mana management, that was what set efficient groups apart from people who didn't know what they were doing. Also maining necro and bard this fucks both my mains. Necro is at max raid DPS output already without running oom, so it does nothing for me while other casters will now catch up. Who needs sustain when burst now has unlimited mana as well. And Bard for mana regen will be much less in demand for groups.
It's a 5 minute timer, they won't be able to sustain on raid mobs unless they succor out and wait 5 minutes.

I've been leveling really slow this go around mainly having internet issues, but I have 9 running right now, I haven't done too much research into the Tower Quests yet, I saw the level 2 mage trick. So you being all pro, what's the best way to tower gear 9 chars/accounts? Do I get all the keys on each / pass them to each other, and when you farm the currency from the quests, to gear all 9 chars fastest should I be doing level 2 mages on each account, or is that over kill and I can get all I need only running a few and passing the currency a long? I have seen a few guides on the quests and the keys but wishing someone would make a strategy video to gear up multiple chars / accounts, I guess I might have to, any information you can provide is greatly appreciated.

I saw on Redit you do not need to buy any krona to do the tower.
Great video. Honestly I don't like the new change. Everyone wants things now and can't wait. I want new rules. Like if you die you lose 2 levels or you can't play for a week. Steel is fun but I hate how people camp low level camps to kill the name.. I have a slow time finding places to level
Then you don't know what you're doing and that's OK but if you're not enjoying your time maybe you should play something else I never have problems finding groups are very populated areas at all times of the day or night you must be going to out-of-the-way places to try and level
@@rayznbread603 I have been playing a long time. I can easily go to the popular zones and get a group. You seem to a negative force in the game but I appreciate your time to comment. I was talking about going to zones trying to level on my own. I have no problem doing that. What I was saying is even places off the beaten path are usually camped by a high level person who is there for the loot and not the exp
The second this comes into LIVE, I'm resubbing and rolling a new character. Wonderful, long overdue, but better late than never!

Does out of combat regen work in groups and such where you have constant pulls? Like for a mage who would be sending their pet in?
You have gotta get out of combat so 30 seconds after a mob dies but the regen will be so so fast!
@@TBCNexus So it won't make any difference in a group for a pet class really it sounds like. Maybe a Wizard/non pet nuker type class I suppose?
@@TBCNexus Or does the pet not automatically put you in combat? If it doesn't that could be cool. Always expected the mage was put on the agro list from the pet, but maybe not.
@@xaranthius1415 Siccing a pet will put you in combat. So in order to get the regen, you'll have to just sit and do nothing. But I mean, Mages have done that before when they needed mana, but this time it'll be a lot faster to get back up to full mana, maybe only sitting out 1 pull, instead of 3 or 4.
Atermis is right, it will improve the caster meta, but I still don't think that's really the problem. I think Monks are way too strong and need a NERF, as opposed to buffing other classes.

I was very excited going into Teek and got to 60 by end of memorial day weekend. I've already quit due to the anniversary tower. It just ruined the server and the game for me on every level
