    they used to hold teams under 70 points. no superstars just a group of guys that knew how to play. you gotta be thankful for this.

      ***** you could say that about a lot of scenarios.

      Ben Wallace and Chauncey were definitely stars back then

    • @MrToolz.

      Thacomedian64 there's a difference between stars and superstars. A superstar is likely to be in the hall of fame. A star is just a good player.

    • @Thacomedian64

      ***** Theyre both likely and superstars arent likely they will be inducted

      +Dom b Lakers would had beating Detroit if they had Pau Gasol in stead of Karl Malone look what happen in 2009 and 2010 when we had Bynum and Gasol Twin Toward we won Back to Back Titles a line up of Peyton Bryant Odom Gasol O'Neal would had beating Detroit in 6 Games but all the games would be close both teams would win by 2 or 3 Points

    I´m a clippers fan, but man, You guys don´t know how I miss this Pistons team. It was funny see them playing. The NBA need more teams like this, with no superstars and egos around

      Boy, you have no idea about the impact Wallace made during his years with Detroit and in the NBA. Go do your HW and then comeback and post.

    • @eamparbeng
      @eamparbeng 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Even though he was never offensive caliber, I agree with you

    • @meharinationsportspodcast2582
      @meharinationsportspodcast2582 10 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      He never was a real offensive threat. He made his impact on defense. Blocking Shots, defending Centers twice his size. In the 2004 Finals, he did a great job containing Shaq and his overall defense frustrated the Lakers.

      +Abel Mehari he is pretty much deandre Jordan - 4 inches and 2 times the interior defense

    Man I remember this team. This team was one of the most scary and underrated teams I watched. It would be awesome if the 2004 Detroit Pistons faced against the 2002 Sacramento Kings in a finals matchup.

    2004 was probably the best year of my life.
    I was 17 years old, life was dope, and the Pistons took over the whole world.
    Man, I wish I could go back in time. These were the days!

  • @Jeddylions
    @Jeddylions 10 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Why I love this team and this year is because unlike today where it's just the few all starts that get the ball nonstop and win or the lose the game off of their performance, the 2004 detroit pistons were underdogs that nobody had expectations for but none were selfish. They played together. They worked together. They were a team. Hall of Famers.

      This reminds me of the seahawks in 2013 im a fan of the pistons in basketball and the seahawks the broncos were favorite over the seahawks and the seahawks demolished them the pistons did the same thing to the lakers and even though there 2 different sports both of my teams won with a historicly great defense and both lost the next year during there second straight trip

    • @ThePistons4life
      @ThePistons4life 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      britishkid 21 that's a good comparison man..they both lost in heartbreaking fashion the next year..Seattle had it worse though that was bad..but pistons lost in 7 being up by 9 in the 3rd having control and ginobli took over..not to mention Robert horrays heartbreaking 3 pointer in game 5 I think it was

    • @vincecarter9438
      @vincecarter9438 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah but the spurs didn't deflate basketballs to get to the finals like the patriots deflated football's just to get to the superbowl

    this is my team back in the day, chauncey, rip, tay, big ben and sheed joining them at the trade deadline in 2004 was the bomb! larry brown bolting for the knicks and big ben leaving the pistons for the bulls is bearable but chauncey being traded away tore our hearts and the team's spirit, they've never been the same after that, sad seeing them in a losing state.

      the 04 pistons defense was scary...but see how tough it is to win...i thought th epistons were so good and invincible...i thought they woud win 3 titles...they only got 1...that frontline was so long...they wasted clock and limited possessions...you were not gonna score 90 on them...you had to hit 3's to beat them...they didnt give up much inside

    • @J-Hue
      @J-Hue 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      If the bench was kept intact, they may have gotten a few more. Didn't get another quality bench until '08. Unfortunately it was just after that season they were blown up.

    I´m a T-wolves fan but this Pistons team was one of my favorites of all time. It was incredible when I watched this team playing with their dominant Defense and the way the scaried the other teams.I mean,it´s gonna be hard to see another team like that pistons you know.

    I'm a Bulls fan but the 2004 Pistons are one of my favorite teams of all time! A perfect squad that terrorized the league without a single superstar, culminating in pure dominance of a Laker team loaded with superstars. I'd like to see Detroit back on top in the East again.

    Was the Bad Boys of the last decade imo. getting back to The Finals the next year proved they wasn't a fluke in 2004. if Rasheed Wallace wouldn't have came of Robert Horry. It would have been back to back. and I'm not a Pistons fan but this team had my respect.

  • @codakilla

    I always remember the 2003-2004 playoffs damn Timberwolves got so far and yet failed it would've been a great matchup to see the T-wolves and pistons face off in the finals. I'm sure the Pistons would have defeated them, still would be great to see the twolves in the finals.

    But they had a very hard fought 7 game series against an extremely talented Spurs team with a Duncan. That series could've went either way. NBA titles just aren't as easy to come by especially when you're playing against teams loaded with superstars. You have to respect this team and how well they play against elite talent.

    I have great respect for these 2003-2004 Pistons and hate how Lebron had to take the easy way out by joining 2 superstars, yet gets praised by CLOWNS in the media as if he's a great champion!! These Pistons we're like a throwback team because they played smart, played with heart and played great defense. The majority of today's players/teams do NONE of that
    Despite all the great moves Joe Dumars made before this season started, TAKING DARKO MILIC WITH THE 2ND PICK ended up ruining the Pistons!!
