+Dom b Lakers would had beating Detroit if they had Pau Gasol in stead of Karl Malone look what happen in 2009 and 2010 when we had Bynum and Gasol Twin Toward we won Back to Back Titles a line up of Peyton Bryant Odom Gasol O'Neal would had beating Detroit in 6 Games but all the games would be close both teams would win by 2 or 3 Points
I´m a clippers fan, but man, You guys don´t know how I miss this Pistons team. It was funny see them playing. The NBA need more teams like this, with no superstars and egos around
He never was a real offensive threat. He made his impact on defense. Blocking Shots, defending Centers twice his size. In the 2004 Finals, he did a great job containing Shaq and his overall defense frustrated the Lakers.
Man I remember this team. This team was one of the most scary and underrated teams I watched. It would be awesome if the 2004 Detroit Pistons faced against the 2002 Sacramento Kings in a finals matchup.
2004 was probably the best year of my life. I was 17 years old, life was dope, and the Pistons took over the whole world. Man, I wish I could go back in time. These were the days!
Why I love this team and this year is because unlike today where it's just the few all starts that get the ball nonstop and win or the lose the game off of their performance, the 2004 detroit pistons were underdogs that nobody had expectations for but none were selfish. They played together. They worked together. They were a team. Hall of Famers.
I love when a team's fans can appreciate a team that beat theirs. That just not only shows class, but also just goes to show that you love the sport as a whole.
This reminds me of the seahawks in 2013 im a fan of the pistons in basketball and the seahawks the broncos were favorite over the seahawks and the seahawks demolished them the pistons did the same thing to the lakers and even though there 2 different sports both of my teams won with a historicly great defense and both lost the next year during there second straight trip
britishkid 21 that's a good comparison man..they both lost in heartbreaking fashion the next year..Seattle had it worse though that was bad..but pistons lost in 7 being up by 9 in the 3rd having control and ginobli took over..not to mention Robert horrays heartbreaking 3 pointer in game 5 I think it was
this is my team back in the day, chauncey, rip, tay, big ben and sheed joining them at the trade deadline in 2004 was the bomb! larry brown bolting for the knicks and big ben leaving the pistons for the bulls is bearable but chauncey being traded away tore our hearts and the team's spirit, they've never been the same after that, sad seeing them in a losing state.
This series was what got me into Baskeball. a big upset i was so happy when they beat the lakers. that was a great play offs too. so many good series and games. that lakers spurs series was just awesome.
the 04 pistons defense was scary...but see how tough it is to win...i thought th epistons were so good and invincible...i thought they woud win 3 titles...they only got 1...that frontline was so long...they wasted clock and limited possessions...you were not gonna score 90 on them...you had to hit 3's to beat them...they didnt give up much inside
If the bench was kept intact, they may have gotten a few more. Didn't get another quality bench until '08. Unfortunately it was just after that season they were blown up.
If only these pistons were still around competing with a healthy bulls team, the pacers and the heat, it would be so fun to watch. Pistons fan for life though no matter what they'll be good again!
I´m a T-wolves fan but this Pistons team was one of my favorites of all time. It was incredible when I watched this team playing with their dominant Defense and the way the scaried the other teams.I mean,it´s gonna be hard to see another team like that pistons you know.
I'm a Bulls fan but the 2004 Pistons are one of my favorite teams of all time! A perfect squad that terrorized the league without a single superstar, culminating in pure dominance of a Laker team loaded with superstars. I'd like to see Detroit back on top in the East again.
As a spurs fan.....always respected the 04 Pistons, and the "team first" attitude. Top that with stellar defense, and you have a team that others should model themselves after.
Was the Bad Boys of the last decade imo. getting back to The Finals the next year proved they wasn't a fluke in 2004. if Rasheed Wallace wouldn't have came of Robert Horry. It would have been back to back. and I'm not a Pistons fan but this team had my respect.
I always remember the 2003-2004 playoffs damn Timberwolves got so far and yet failed it would've been a great matchup to see the T-wolves and pistons face off in the finals. I'm sure the Pistons would have defeated them, still would be great to see the twolves in the finals.
2004 great year. This was my last year as a Laker fan....i was pissed off and i had hate for the Pistons for a longggg time....but now that im older..i see this was the Pistons season and L.A. should've been on guard. But this pound for pound defense let the Pistons go to 6 stright confrence finals....i miss the Bad Boyz II to be honest.
god that was a beat down in the Finals. I would like to think that my Wolves would have won the title that year if Cassell didn't go down but the Pistons defense in the Finals was the best defense I've ever seen. It would have been extremely tough.
This was around the time I was starting to really get into being a Laker fan. Boy, what a terrible way to start for me. I'll forever hate this Pistons team in my heart, but damn, do I respect the hell outta them.
He's saying in 2004 Ben and Sheed were the only two who had been all-stars prior to their title run. We had no other all-stars other than those two on the '04 championship team. Chauncey and Rip didn't make it until 2006.
every fan of the game of basketball can appreciate the 2004 championship Detroit pistons team. they gave a feeling that the way they played the game is the way it is meant to be played. not all of this superstar collaboration selfish bs
Hey guys alot of similarities. 2004 lakers had the big three shaq. kobe. malone. 2011 heat lebron. wade. bosh. Both the mavericks and the pistons came in as huge underdogs. The heat and lakers both came in confidence and arrogance like the title was there's. And both got there ass whooped lol.
That's why I'm liking what the Pacers are doing. Sure, Paul George is a budding superstar but that team got re-built from the ground up after Reggie left
But they had a very hard fought 7 game series against an extremely talented Spurs team with a Duncan. That series could've went either way. NBA titles just aren't as easy to come by especially when you're playing against teams loaded with superstars. You have to respect this team and how well they play against elite talent.
I have great respect for these 2003-2004 Pistons and hate how Lebron had to take the easy way out by joining 2 superstars, yet gets praised by CLOWNS in the media as if he's a great champion!! These Pistons we're like a throwback team because they played smart, played with heart and played great defense. The majority of today's players/teams do NONE of that Despite all the great moves Joe Dumars made before this season started, TAKING DARKO MILIC WITH THE 2ND PICK ended up ruining the Pistons!!
they used to hold teams under 70 points. no superstars just a group of guys that knew how to play. you gotta be thankful for this.
***** you could say that about a lot of scenarios.
Ben Wallace and Chauncey were definitely stars back then
Thacomedian64 there's a difference between stars and superstars. A superstar is likely to be in the hall of fame. A star is just a good player.
***** Theyre both likely and superstars arent likely they will be inducted
Hell yea brotha!!
Lac all the way. But I love chauncey and rip and both Wallaces they are the best pistons team. I love this piston team
Ben Wallace deserves to be in the Hall of Fame
U must be on crack
Boy, you have no idea about the impact Wallace made during his years with Detroit and in the NBA. Go do your HW and then comeback and post.
Even though he was never offensive caliber, I agree with you
He never was a real offensive threat. He made his impact on defense. Blocking Shots, defending Centers twice his size. In the 2004 Finals, he did a great job containing Shaq and his overall defense frustrated the Lakers.
+Abel Mehari he is pretty much deandre Jordan - 4 inches and 2 times the interior defense
Man I remember this team. This team was one of the most scary and underrated teams I watched. It would be awesome if the 2004 Detroit Pistons faced against the 2002 Sacramento Kings in a finals matchup.
+Theterminato2013 you mean 2003 San Antonio Spurs
2004 was probably the best year of my life.
I was 17 years old, life was dope, and the Pistons took over the whole world.
Man, I wish I could go back in time. These were the days!
Why I love this team and this year is because unlike today where it's just the few all starts that get the ball nonstop and win or the lose the game off of their performance, the 2004 detroit pistons were underdogs that nobody had expectations for but none were selfish. They played together. They worked together. They were a team. Hall of Famers.
love this team. no superstars, just a great group of hard working guys. no egos, pure team work.
I love when a team's fans can appreciate a team that beat theirs. That just not only shows class, but also just goes to show that you love the sport as a whole.
Pistons deserved to be champion no more reasons !!
im from and currently live in detroit, I am a die hard lakers fan, but every time I look back at the 04 pistons, I say "damn I love my city"
Most underrated championship team..best defense.of all time..if we would've won.vs the spurs..the world would talk about.this.team more
This reminds me of the seahawks in 2013 im a fan of the pistons in basketball and the seahawks the broncos were favorite over the seahawks and the seahawks demolished them the pistons did the same thing to the lakers and even though there 2 different sports both of my teams won with a historicly great defense and both lost the next year during there second straight trip

Yeah but the spurs didn't deflate basketballs to get to the finals like the patriots deflated football's just to get to the superbowl
britishkid 21 lol very true haha
We almost got our rematch in 07 with the spurs but lebron spoiled it in the eastern conference finals
this is my team back in the day, chauncey, rip, tay, big ben and sheed joining them at the trade deadline in 2004 was the bomb! larry brown bolting for the knicks and big ben leaving the pistons for the bulls is bearable but chauncey being traded away tore our hearts and the team's spirit, they've never been the same after that, sad seeing them in a losing state.
This series was what got me into Baskeball. a big upset i was so happy when they beat the lakers. that was a great play offs too. so many good series and games. that lakers spurs series was just awesome.
I miss these days i used to watch this every day
Extremely underrated team.
Underdogs
the 04 pistons defense was scary...but see how tough it is to win...i thought th epistons were so good and invincible...i thought they woud win 3 titles...they only got 1...that frontline was so long...they wasted clock and limited possessions...you were not gonna score 90 on them...you had to hit 3's to beat them...they didnt give up much inside

If only these pistons were still around competing with a healthy bulls team, the pacers and the heat, it would be so fun to watch. Pistons fan for life though no matter what they'll be good again!
They are passionate fans. Those are good fans. Every team would like to have those fans. They are on of the best fans I've seen.
I´m a T-wolves fan but this Pistons team was one of my favorites of all time. It was incredible when I watched this team playing with their dominant Defense and the way the scaried the other teams.I mean,it´s gonna be hard to see another team like that pistons you know.
they just fit so well as a team everyone on that that covered each others flaws and chemistry was at 100
I'm a Bulls fan but the 2004 Pistons are one of my favorite teams of all time! A perfect squad that terrorized the league without a single superstar, culminating in pure dominance of a Laker team loaded with superstars. I'd like to see Detroit back on top in the East again.
greatest Team of the last 15 years. no superstars, just passion
Can't believe it has been 8 years since they won the title... It was an amazing run that they had from 2002-2008.
As a spurs fan.....always respected the 04 Pistons, and the "team first" attitude. Top that with stellar defense, and you have a team that others should model themselves after.
That whole starting 5 deserves hall of fame status!
This team was a real team. They had no superstar but together they were amazing as a team.
Wow what happened. Pistons Please come back, at least make it to the finals. Please make us proud to be a Piston Fan again.
Wow, thank you for uploading this in such great quality
Was the Bad Boys of the last decade imo. getting back to The Finals the next year proved they wasn't a fluke in 2004. if Rasheed Wallace wouldn't have came of Robert Horry. It would have been back to back. and I'm not a Pistons fan but this team had my respect.

Billups
Rip
Prince
Sheed
Ben
That's a real squad right there its a darn shame this team isn't in 2k13
i loved this team then man...i actually liked basketball back then too, now i cant stand it
most unforgettable final in my life ever!!
This was one of the only true TEAMS I have ever seen in sports. Everyone knew there roll and did there part.
This is no doubt the best defensive team of the last 20 years.
This is how a basketball team should be built. Not around one or two superstars, but around each other.
I LOVED thus team!! My favorite player was Ben Wallace, he had so much fire in him!
best team of all time.
I don't care what you say.
Well said brotha ✊
2002-2008 Pistons was the best !!! i miss them :(
we got Chauncey back! it's amazing because he will be a good leader on the young point guards.
The trade for Rasheed Wallace was one of the biggest steals in NBA history. Just pure bizarre that Atlanta and Boston made it.
This is when NBA was fun to watch
best team ever if they got all the same players together.. this would be a unstoppable team.
I love how it says LakersDynasty in the bottom left, and this ended up being the team that ended the Lakers Dynasty.
The pistons will rise again! This year the pistons are going to make it back to the playoffs
Wow our dunks were really entertaining back then kind of overlooked by how lockdown we were on D.
One of best team I ever seen...
This championship was huge for the city
ugh i miss these days.....
i miss this so much.
Got josh smith and possibly rondo soon. Trying to get back to the kind of team they were when they won the championship
On 2k they should put this team as one of the legendary teams.
chauncy billops looks a little bit like charlie murphy.
pause at 10:39
god that was a beat down in the Finals. I would like to think that my Wolves would have won the title that year if Cassell didn't go down but the Pistons defense in the Finals was the best defense I've ever seen. It would have been extremely tough.
Thanks for the vids. I just subscribed! :)
as a miami heat fan my respect to the 2004 detroit team !!
Jesus Christ, it's been 10 years already? lol I feel old and I'm only 20! Hahah
thats what I'm saying
im 19 who you tellin
Me too lol I'm 20
get outta here, the age u are NOW..is the age i was THEN. when i watched this
kids...
This was around the time I was starting to really get into being a Laker fan. Boy, what a terrible way to start for me. I'll forever hate this Pistons team in my heart, but damn, do I respect the hell outta them.
still my favorite players, Chauncey, Hamilton, and BIG BEN
They should be inducted in the HOF as a team
i went to every game that year. the palace as great back then. now they cant even sell out against the heat...
I really hope the pistons can be great again
The Pistons EMBARRESSED the Lakers, once again proving that a great team can always beat an assembly of great players.
miss this team real bad
this is the year when the brawl starts
i loved this piston team
He's saying in 2004 Ben and Sheed were the only two who had been all-stars prior to their title run. We had no other all-stars other than those two on the '04 championship team. Chauncey and Rip didn't make it until 2006.
man i still cannot believe that the lakers lost this series with that sick lineup they had.
watta shame.
every fan of the game of basketball can appreciate the 2004 championship Detroit pistons team. they gave a feeling that the way they played the game is the way it is meant to be played. not all of this superstar collaboration selfish bs
Nba2k16 newest historic team!
Why Isn't This Team On 2K ?
***** 11 years should be old enough for this years upcoming 2K. Hopefully we well get a bunch of new classic teams
amen
Hey guys alot of similarities.
2004 lakers had the big three shaq. kobe. malone.
2011 heat lebron. wade. bosh.
Both the mavericks and the pistons came in as huge underdogs.
The heat and lakers both came in confidence and arrogance like the title was there's.
And both got there ass whooped lol.
Nick Owens they are now
Yea it's gonna be on 2k 16
Wow, they beat the Nets with BRIAN SCALABRINE in it. Now that's an accomplishment.
Thank you so much :)
Our alley oops and transistion were also great because of pur chemistry
They were amazing team!
i loved this season...
the piston sperit will never die
watching this reminds me off the Mavs championship run last year
back when the nba was great ♥
That's why I'm liking what the Pacers are doing. Sure, Paul George is a budding superstar but that team got re-built from the ground up after Reggie left
Them and the Pacers with Reggie, Harrington, Artest, O'Neal, Bender and Antonio Davis.
i miss this line up...
the greatest team ever assembled
the best starting 5 ever
The best defensive team ever.
one question why they aint put rasheed wallace on 2k16 anybody know
i guess they didn't have the rights to his name. it's why they didn't have Kareem in 2k15 or why they don't have Reggie Miller and or Sir Charles
Most likely don't have his licensing due to him wanting to much money or his religion
This reminds me of the uconn huskies of this year. Who agrees?
the best team of 2000s,,just unselfish
Quite possibly the greatest NBA defense ever. Proves that defense wins championships.
without any doubt man!
...and I'm a Lakers fan
I'm excited as a basketball fan in general by this move*
@funakiexpress oh and the grizzlies use to be from vancouver late 90's early 2000s.
Sheed was so dominant!
If they ever make a 2k team for these guys the defense needs to be 98-99 maybe our defense was untouchable
If it wasn't for rasheed we would not have won I guarantee thank god we got rasheed
They did they gonna be on 2k 16
+Josh Harvey but no Rasheed :(
04-05 championship is epic! Brown vs Pop. mentor vs mentee.
I fricken love this team
Piston should make a comeback next year
But they had a very hard fought 7 game series against an extremely talented Spurs team with a Duncan. That series could've went either way. Dam that's crazy I remember when the score was posted up for you like that during a game ha holy shit
