So glad your all OK. It was a little rough down here in Charlotte County, Lost some limbs on fruit tree's and my banana trees took a hard shot, lost most of my lemons, Tangerines and Honey Bell Oranges. Chickens, Goat and my 2 pigs did awesome. God Bless stay safe
Glad to see you weathered the storm, we got lucky too, lots of trees branches down and one on the pole barn...but...it missed the well pump. So all is good, it will take a couple weeks to clean up and repair the barn. We had power after three days.
So glad to hear you made it thru Hurricane Irma ok. Do you have power back on yet ? We lost a very big pine tree over here in Gilchrist County and a few branches but they did not hit anything, thankfully. We got our power back on Wednesday around 4 PM. (God bless Central FL Electric Coop).
So glad to see all your structures still standing and all your animals happy and going about their business. Just goes to show you that living simply, preparing a head of time, and some good old homesteading ingenuity can take you a long way.

We live in North Carolina and weren't in the Irma's path, but still had a pretty bad storm! We have horses, goats, and a pig, so we were definitely worried about our animals, but everyone made it through the storm safe and sound!

Becky, I'm so glad that you and your animals weathered the storm and that all is well. I think it helps if someone is an outdoors person and enjoys camping when the electric goes off. Awhile back the electric was off for 5 days so I just cooked on my grill, had ice in the cooler and acted as if I were camping, only I had the luxury of my bed and an indoor bathroom. Great video Becky!
Good job. We got our electricity back on Thursday morning. Thank goodness. Baby wipes were running out. We cooked up the food we had in the cooler for the dogs and chickens. Oh ya, got 2 barred rock yesterday! Daisy and Dumpling. 14 weeks old, Life is good.

+Farmword If horses are left loose, they choose to stay out in the open. Horses can move super fast even from a stand still. So they can get out of the way from any danger. It's just never good for them to stand in water. It that happens you have to move them. ❤️😀
Hi Becky glad you survived Irma. I live on the East Coast of Fl & I survived too. Being prepared really helps. We were without power for 5 days. We had 85-100 mph winds & heavy rain but no damage to our home. Blessings.

So glade you made it threw the storm. We lost power here in Northeast Georgia too. We were out of power from 7pm Monday back on Wednesday at 10am. We been cleaning the mess this week.
in my part of NC we received the perfect amount of rain to keep the nursery watered, and just the right out of wind to blow out the stale nasty summer air. Often we forget how needed these hurricanes are to the ecosystem, they prevent droughts freshen up the air in the South East.
