I think the killswitch is designed to be easier to use when standing up with the guitar. Because when you stand up, the angle of the guitar changes, maybe making it easier to use it?

i can tell you from experience that the valeton chugs ( but it would be nice to see what ola does with it
Bug thumbs up. As a note, no need to try chugging on Mooer 150 and HB DNAfx git separately, as they are the same thing in different enclosure.
GE 150 with 3rd party IRs is a good time.

Ola, this was by far the BEST, most useful review of this guitar. I had no idea about the bridge trem only going one way. THAT'S SO IMPORTANT! It looks and sounds great though. And I bet you could open it up and rotate the killswitch to put it at the angle you like.
I’m a big fan of Sterling... I own several. The JP 160, and the JP 157 are by far my fav.
Gave a JP 70 to my son, and a Maj 100 to my daughter. Great guitars at a good price.
Could you adopt me please? i'll be a good son :(
Crazy how good these “budget” models have gotten over the years. What sells for £500 now is better than something that would’ve cost the best part of £800 (if not more) more than a decade ago, even with inflation. Right now is the best time to start playing guitar.

@@Yohahn okay that's cool that you weren't just hatin. i can see where you're coming from but with all the features and what not like you said it's super easy to just put some foam on the springs. I had to do that to my Sterling JP70...what i'm surprised is how nice the pickups sound because the JP had literally worthless pick ups. but those sterling trems are actually really nice man best trem i've played under 900 bucks for sure.

Great piece of equipment to test out. I especially appreciate how well you received this guitar and spoke of it, considering normally you would be pluggin your brand of guitars. I would also agree with you about how a guitar's neck that is shaped differently might have you playing it in a different way. @@kokica777 I'm not sure they have a similar sound profile. But if you're looking for an amazing metal and rock amp the SLO series is a solid choice.

The lewitt mic sounds really good compared to other mics which make it sound like you’re standing outside the room the actual amp is in

I played the Guitar last week in the MusicStore in Germany.
The setup was pretty good, BUT the fretwork was horrible...
Not only that you could feel the edges of the frets, they were really sharp. I don't know if that was just a bad batch, but the lack of quality shocked me.
I'm not kidding, a 150 Euro Squier got better frets than this example.
Ola nice demo, The guitar is nice but to me It chugs but there is some low mid frequencies missing sounds slightly cleaner on the hi frequency. I think I will buy a solar guitar guitar for a few bucks more.
I've had mine for a few weeks now and it's an excellent guitar. Great QA all around in the finish. I can play around with so many sounds and get great coverage for whatwver I'm trying to do. So much fun. I also don't use the Killswitch, but its a handy point for future modifications, possibly. Certainly not in the way.

Yes we do need a Solar amp. Simple with an overdrive pedal built in to boost and double ended noise gate. Olá-in-one sound. Make it $1200. You could probably have the solar factory build it.
certainly that kill switch rotated itself into that orientation.. happens with my Gibson switch all the time

That kill switch is in the dumbest location I’ve ever seen. Even just swapping the switch locations would make far more sense.
IMO, kill switches should be buttons and not switches

One thing to note about this guitar, it is the only stingray to have 24 frets. Normally both the sterling and the full music man Stingrays have 22 frets
I like this guitar. Sound's *very* well, and 'balanced' (with full spectrum; sorrry my english knowledge is too poor to tell it)

I always add in kill switches, but it’s not for the Buckethead/Morello tricks... it’s just to turn the guitar off in between songs :)

Kill switch is best used when the guitar is feeding back and you use it to control the feedback
I thought this guitar sounded well and it does resemble an EVH especially with the bright maple neck. This guitar resembles an HHS strat with the immediately identifiable strat sound from the brash contact between the strings and the frets. I thought it would have been useful to demonstrate tones with less gain and clean as I suspect this model to be versatile. The coil splits were a treat because they tend to crap out at higher gain settings and squeal.
Thumbs up for the no goal theme. I just apreciate the random riffage and goofing around.

Ola looked special with that kill switch ROFL!!! It however should have been a button not a switch, Jared Dines designing guitars he may have messed it up for all of us. It reminds me of a 70's guitar that you got from someone but ya know Ernie Ball regardless of what it looks like will knock it out of the park. Thanks Ernie Ball for being awesome.

I might be wrong but it looks to me like the kill switch is oriented for sitting with the guitar in classical position. I think he tends to play with the neck at a steeper angle.

Hey Ola, when you watch this video yourself, which microphone do you think sounds the closest to what you hear in the room while playing?
Im not a guitar guy,first I heard one piece neck, i thought one piece neck mean neck and fletborad in one piece, then i saw pickguard that little notch for turs rod adjustment. but its possible a guitar no maple cap,no skunk stripe to put turss rod?just no turss rod at all,or other way put a turss rod??sorry for my poor english and my stupid question.

I put a Buckethead style killswitch right next to the tone nob on a cheap guitar I got 10 years ago, works much better than having it that high up!
Hey Ola, is part of the reason we can’t really make full use of bigger amps in the clubs anymore because the clubs prefer the lower stage volume? And if so, is there a way we can get clubs to let us crank more, or is it simply too impractical?

What kind of tuning do you use on guitars?
Will It Chug request: older gear! It would be fun to see if you can get a bunch of random old gear to chug. For example, I've never liked Carvin amps. Someone mentioned they bought one so I went to check it out on TH-cam. There are no good videos trying to get a metal tone! It would be cool to see you try it and verify or contradict my dislike. Even if Carvin is too hard to find in Sweden, old weird gear would be a blast to see you try to chug on.
This channel is SOOOOOO gonna become one of the biggest guitar channels on TH-cam, and add plenty of moolah to Ola’s bank account!
