In what way was it perfect?, Alot of story issues, IG 11 self destructed, and no one could fix it, Din was just hardwiring two cables and it worked, so bad writing, and Din shooting 4 pirates in 3 seconds and then cannot hit IG 11 a few feet away, Bo Katan was just sitting there alone, how tf can you think this was perfect?.
It feels like we are home. Your reactions to the Mandolorian made me a fan. So much in the episode that was good. Loved the change of mood from last of us. 😊. Can’t wait to see where they go with the whole Mandalore story. Mando and Grogu back together like the should be. I hope IG-11 comes back soon. Loved him.
Isn’t it amazing how much can fit into a short episode? You were not the only one pranked by Famuyiwa to think it was a flashback. The young boy actor is Jimmy Kimmel’s nephewVTW. I was happy to see that Brendan Wayne and Lateef Crowder are now listed in the main credits as they really make this character come to life. I can’t wait to see who will be the main antagonist. Could it be Bo, the Armourer, the pirate king, or Gideon. I believe Grogu will get a chance to rescue Din this season. I’m so excited!! The creature at the beginning has been given a name and it's very Terran, if you will...it's simply called the Dinosaur Turtle. Or DinoTurtle for short. The 4 armed sand creature in BoBF Ep 1 is simply called the Sand Beast.
If I remember correctly Bo Katan is a gray character that started off in deathwatch, then fought against Darth Maul So she is not a good guy, but she’s not all bad either
Yes. She is kinda in the middle during the Mandalorian arc of Clone Wars. Too traditionalist for her pacifist sister Satine, not enough for Pre Vizsla and the Death Watch. She started the Nite Owls as a splinter group from the Death Watch after the death of her sister to prevent Mandalore to fall in the hand of an outsider - Maul -. But she isn't, per say, a "good guy". She is a leader and a warrior, and has some friends in the good guys ( Mainly Ahsoka, and a lot of respect for Obi-wan ), but she is focused on one thing : Uniting the Mandalorians, and before the purge, taking back Mandalore and bring it back to the good old days of warrior world.

Really enjoyed your excitement and enthusiasm! I really love watching your reactions as much as the episode itself! Solid episode, sets the stage for what’s to come, and it promises to be a great season. There’s only one minor distraction for me: During the intro when IG11 self destructed, the thermo detonator was directly inside his chest, and the explosion was huge, but when they tried to repair him in this episode, the entire upper torso is intact…it’s not a big deal, just minor continuity issues in my mind.
The way I interpreted what he said was that it has been 2 years since Grogu went with Luke in the finale of S2, not necessarily that Grogu was with Luke for the whole 2 years since chapter 16 of S2. Also, Favreau said there will be a timejump from the time of the finale of BOBF up to the chapter 17 of S3.
@@Mandozen yes, something like that. Either way, I think he was trying to say that more time had passed after Grogu left with Luke than most people think ,which makes sense.
Scene with the Mandalorians fighting the monster and Grogu looking at purgils in the hyperspace were the highlights for me,great start of the new season :)
I think everyone thought it was a flashback - after all, Paz Vizla's armor could have been inherited, and who knows how old the armorer could be (if she's even human)? Also, they had time to reassemble a clan - didn't Dave Filoni just say Grogu was with Luke for 2 years, that there was a time jump?
I'm surprised that people thought it was a flashback. We've already seen young Din and this kid is way too pale in comparison. And assuming the armorer is human she'd be like, what, 60+ now with seemingly no aging or slowing down considering her battle scene.

Aaaand we’re back! Gods but this was so much fun, it had everything we want/need from Star Wars: action, comedy, world building, and great heart. Also, gotta love the subtle hypocrisy of Bo-Katan talking about cults and factions fracturing Manadalore when she was second-in-command of the Deathwatch. And seeing the Pyrgill in hyperspace just made me do a little happy dance in my chair. So amazing.

I guess to compensate for the show with Cara Dune's "Out-Excuse" from the series for her actress, we're getting IG-11 back!!!! (albeit a sidenote question that I am bit curious about though is if IG-11 does get restored, how exactly is IG-11 going to fit inside Mando's starfighter??? {Unless there's like a storage trailer he can attach on} Because at least we somewhat do know from the S3 trailer that R5-D4 might be going with Mando too since he was in his ship's droid port). Also, I'm not gonna lie: did anyone else possibly feel a slight "antagonist vibe" off of Bo at that end scene???
the actress playing the Armorer - many will know her better as AMARA (the Darkness), sister to CHuck aka God from SUPERNATURAL. One supposes we'll never actualyl SEE her face for obvious reasons, but it is nice to know that is who the classy voice belongs to.

Here we go gang! What a great episode this was. Even though it was only about 30 minutes, it was literally packed from start to finish. Not a single minute was filler. My favorite scene has to be with those little droid mechanics. OMG they need to have them in the show more. So funny. This ep was pretty much a 10 for me.
The Mandalorian's at the beginning were holding two different banners, so might be two other groups that ave fallen in with the Armourer. Perhaps other pro-Maul factions in the past?

Would be kind of cool to see a series like that - if they recast her (Gina obviously isn’t coming back), but I’d rather have them focus on a new or different character entirely.
Oh man this and Andor are the reason I keep Disney+. Star Wars is starting to take a very interesting "HBO prestige series" type approach on streaming and its great from a fan perspective.

Uhm, pretty sure she burned that bridge herself. If your employer asks you not to do something, and then you keep doing it, don’t be surprised if you get the axe. And yeah haha, that would’ve been weird. I still remember being like “wow, what the f**k?!” when it happened. Maybe that was a bit of an overreaction, but it was definitely in the spirit of South Park 😂
Don't beat yourself up about not connecting the dots with regard to the opening scene. Everybody thought it was a flashback. Everybody. Including other reactors. None of us guessed it was present time until Din showed up.
the back-armored beast is more like a giant *alligator*, crocodiles have slightly slimmer front snout; I really disagree with Kat about "nothing happened", the episode with set up exposition, the introduction of Gorian Shard and his pirates, Bo Katan at a low point and feeling displaced is going to be important in up coming episodes....
We will see Bo Katan again. She's at her lowest point right now. I believe that by the end of this season, Din will have softened his attitude about the dictates of the clan he grew up in. I think he will become a focal point to bringing together all the scattered clans of the Mandalorians...Grogu, too,in ways that may be surprising. I loved seeing Navaro again, and Din's efforts to repair IG 11. This repair will happen,but just not at this point. I think this was a very good opening season episode, with all those hints and setups for future episodes.
Finally back with the new season. Thanks for the new episode with u lovely guys. But one question ist still unanswered, where is your danish word of the day? 😉🚀
Cuteness Increased by 30% . Both by Grogu and Kat's presence. I can see where Grogu was kind of reinserted into this season where it seems like they would have originally gone for a while without him in the story. Hope it does not decrease the depth or story for season 3. We'll see.

Just as a note,I saw a recent interview with Jon Favreau and he said that Grogu was with Luke for two years.

This was a great first episode. Bo katan don't understand, Din doesn't want to rule mandalore. All he ever wanted is Grogu!

I would have preferred Cara instead of IG, she was a great character. And I noticed that too, I think Bo may try and kill Mando to get the sword.

the back-armored beast is more like a giant *alligator*, crocodiles have slightly slimmer front snout; I really disagree with Kat about "nothing happened", the episode with set up exposition, the introduction of Gorian Shard and his pirates, Bo Katan at a low point and feeling displaced is going to be important in up coming episodes....
We will see Bo Katan again. She's at her lowest point right now. I believe that by the end of this season, Din will have softened his attitude about the dictates of the clan he grew up in. I think he will become a focal point to bringing together all the scattered clans of the Mandalorians...Grogu, too,in ways that may be surprising.
I loved seeing Navaro again, and Din's efforts to repair IG 11. This repair will happen,but just not at this point.
I think this was a very good opening season episode, with all those hints and setups for future episodes.
Finally back with the new season. Thanks for the new episode with u lovely guys. But one question ist still unanswered, where is your danish word of the day? 😉🚀

Cuteness Increased by 30% . Both by Grogu and Kat's presence. I can see where Grogu was kind of reinserted into this season where it seems like they would have originally gone for a while without him in the story. Hope it does not decrease the depth or story for season 3. We'll see.
