No, the newer version makes it easier to wire some Feniex Equipment to the 4200 via a data RJ45 cable. So it would be easier to connect the Fusion Full size light bars for example. The siren systems as well. Instead of having to wire everything they connect using an RJ45 cable. But also keep in mind with the new DL version you loose the traffic adviser built into the original version. The original version is now highly sot after. I just sold one new for $1,200. Thats how badly people want them.
SA FIRE Yes you absolutely can use this controller with a third party siren. It does feature programmable inputs & outputs. The Data Link part of the controller is specifically designed for Feniex Equipment such as the FusionGPL Exterior Light bars and so on. That part of the controller would not be compatible with other brand equipment.
I have the old version of the 4200 just to control all my lights. I don't use a siren. Would I see any benefits by upgrading to the new version?
