As I don't have the opportunity to compare the Ultra, Plus and Specimens directly -- is there a significant difference in weight and balance between those variants?! Fishing reservoirs with sliders and rivers for bigger species, I should go for the Specimen range of rods, I guess?
Nope-I gave both rods a good bend (holding both ends) in the tackle shop today and they are very different. The butt section on the specimen rod is notably thicker, although still very slim.
Got one had carp on float on commercial 17lb no problems ,,very light and powerful 😊
Acolytes are great value for money imo I’ve got three ,landed a 16lb carp on my 11 ft ultra float rod ,012 hook length
I wished Drennan would build an Acolyte in 12ft 1.75lb for tenchfishing.

I have just purchased one not used it yet but it doesn't look much different from the plus.I wonder if it is the same rod and just rebranded

How much does it weight?
Nope the soñik SKS feeder rods 10ft under £50 ... Can't get anything else as good
They're not even in the same category mate
dont compare that to an Accolyte.
Have you use one
Acolyte rods are in a different league to the cheap crap that you are using.
