  • We recently joined our very own Alan Scotthorne and Dan Varney on the banks of the river Severn at Shrewsbury to dicuss our NEW super slim, lightweight and superbly balanced Acolyte 17ft rod. The fishing wasnt too bad either!

Total weight is less important than balance. A balanced in the hand heavier rod will be far more pleasant to use than a lighter tip heavy rod. How does it balance?

if it is as well made and as nice to use as the 14ft acolyte rod i have then it will be some piece of kit this and drennan need props here for taking the time to cater for anglers with a length of rod that is for fishing that is not as popular and probably wont sell as many as the conventional 13s and 14ft rods. I know where i will be looking when i need to replace my 17ft rod.

Yes, no problem. Perfect pair for trotting.
