This is so useful because their website is totally unclear as to the difference

Very helpful - thank you! I could not make heads or tails out of any of their instructions. Judging by the comments, I'm not alone. Now I know how the whole thing works.

Hi, very helpful, many thanks. I wonder if you can answer a question for me, please. I have an Ortlieb Rackpack that I would like to use with the MiK system. I have removed the Ortlieb fitting from the base of the pack which leaves me with 4 holes in the base of the pack. What I need to know is whether the holes in the MiK Adapter Plate will line up with these holes and allow me to fit it to them? What are the measurements between the centres of the fixing holes on the MiK Adapter Plate? I've tried the MiK website for this information and I can't find it anywhere so I've no idea if the plate is compatible with an Ortlieb bag. Thank you.

Hi Quentin, thanks for your comment! The dimensions are approximately 4.25in X 8in. Hope this answers your question :)

@@ElectricBikeCompany Hi and thank you so much for getting back to me. I've measured the distances between the centres of the holes on the Ortlieb mount and on the long axis it's just over 7" and on the short axis it's 5" measuring from the screw hole centres. If those were also your measuring reference points it sounds very much as if the Ortlieb bag is not suitable to fit the MIKAdapter Plate. Don't you just love it how all these manufacturers help the customer by making at least some things simple :-( Thanks again.

What size screws are you using? I've got the carrier and the plate but the plate kit did not come with screws nor instructions, so I have no way to determine how to install the plate. I'd assume the screws are metric as its a European made device. Or can you just drill them out and use any screws or bolts?

Thank you for watching. If you already have a MIK rear rack, you wouldnt need the carrier plate. If you do need the carrier plate, it clicks under the adapter plate
