Stories containing dark themes are fine. Rape and SA are real things, and there's nothing bad about them being in a story. The problem is in their portrayal. Many good books have rape. The difference is that those books recognise and portray it as a negative and horrifying thing, while this book romanticises them. Which is all the more disturbing when you realise it's marketed towards teenagers.
