Gosh this was SO helpful. I’m so glad I stumbled upon this. I just did a reiki 1 and 2 within a week and while I know some things. I left feeling like really lost and not ready and it just didn’t sit well with me. Thank you. My intuition was immediately saying slow down, read, focus on yourself and practice. I will continue to do this for rest of my 21 days.
You are so welcome and I'm glad to know the video was of benefit to you. Indeed, slow down and internalize the practice - that's so important. Seeking out a teacher close to the roots of the practice as well can be invaluable in your guidance. If I can help, please feel free to reach out!
I completely agree. The first time I was attuned to Reiki in 2003 the teacher did both Reiki levels one and two in one weekend. Being very sensitive to energy and sensitive in general I felt overwhelmed and overloaded. It caused a lot of imbalances. I held off on seeing clients until later. I needed to integrate the energy and work on myself first. I wound up going through the process over again more than once with different teachers who taught in a more authentic way. I took level one again and level two months later. I took the Master and then Reiki Master-Teacher levels separately and with plenty of integration time in between. I repeated the process with a different teacher later. I was very careful with who I allowed into my energy field to give me attunements. When taught the way it was meant to be it’s truly a sacred experience and can change a person forever. Why cheat myself out of the deepest, most authentic practice? I feel Reiki really is a life long journey if we allow it to be so. Thank you for this reminder!
Love your common sense and gentle reminder of what Reiki is. 🙏🏻❤️ I was just having a conversation about this today. A friend asked me if I was busy with clients. I replied I learned Reiki to heal “myself “. If on my journey people come to me for healing that’s wonderful but I do it to heal myself first. So yes I’m busy 😁 We need to remember that.
I totally agree. I had a 6 month gap between each of my levels up to Master Teacher. I'm so glad I took my time to learn, integrate, consolidate and practice
Thank you for the comment and I'm glad you enjoyed the video! To your question, yes of course I think it is ok to learn Reiki online. I would just encourage you to find a teacher who resonates with you and your journey and further, a teacher that continues to stay with the practice and work on their own journey with Reiki as well - namely (IMO) Usui Reiki Ryoho. I hope that helps!
Thank you so much for this information. I have a few questions as my reiki practitioner is offering reiki 1&2 within a weekend. I have been seeing her monthly for almost a year and have been doing self work. Two months ago I had a kundalini activation awakening that has been extremely positive for me as well as healing. I do feel called to do her coarse and not necessarily to do reiki on others, but more so for my healing and to learn a healing modality that has helped me. Now with this being said the energy that has been radiating through me since kundalini has been strong and I am wondering if this will affect my training in reiki in any way. I do plan to ask her as well, but I love your information and well the more information the better for me.
Thank you for the comment and for sharing. I'm glad you enjoyed the video and that it has been beneficial! So to your point about kundalini energy rising - Kundalini and Reiki can be understood as the same thing. They are both representations of the energy of the universe - the energy of all things. If we view any practice as something that can "open" or "activate" this energy within us, then IMO we are missing the point. The energy of the universe is you as well, it is all things, so if we are to "become a conduit of Reiki" or "activate Kundalini" then this means that we are softening the notion of the self and the idea of doing (active mind) and we are learning to just witness the energy that is always flowing through us. This is why, IMO, it's important to learn these practices slowly and from as neutral a perspective as possible - because you already are the energy of all things - how could you not be? So any teaching that rushes things, places the focus on the external world, makes big claims, and so on - these are all just framed in the ego. I do hope that helps! If you have further questions, feel free to reply here or to contact me
I wish I would have seen this video before doing my Reiki 1&2 class in April. I feel i learned nothing, it waa too rushed. My question is did i still get attuned and can now work on it the proper way as you suggest or will i have to go and get attuned again?
Thank you for the comment. I think the most important thing here is the depth of your knowledge and practice of Reiki coupled with your daily self work. If you feel you didn't learn much or that it was rushed, then the most important thing to do, IMO, would be to keep up the daily practice and consider resitting your training. I wouldn't focus on the attunement being good or not good, because there is a much deeper understanding about the attunements that come. Beautifully stated Bruce. I fear so many students of reiki fail to understand that it is ALL inner work. 🙏
Absolutely! 100%!
