#KubotaBX #Grapple Cutting down about 13 trees, Cutting them up and stacking the logs with my Kubota BX. Tree Felling + Log Moving with my Artillian Grapple. #Felling #Trees #BiffsEquipment
Thanks Jeff! I still have the injector install video that I made after I did my transmission upgrade video that I still have to edit haha, I’ll see if I can get that edited for you sometime soon!
Haha thanks Todd! Yah he was actually suppose to come help but I got a little carried away to quickly just wanted to get it done with, he’s gonna help me cut some of the other trees down up by the house tho at some point cuz I don’t trust myself enough to not drop them on my fence haha
Thanks Luc, I agree.. almost all cordless tools have really made some leaps ans strides in the past 10 years.. they got cordless tools for nearly everything these days. The Milwaukee m18 saw worked good, I did all that cutting pretty much on one battery and never even had to use the stihl in this video 👍🏻
Very nice video. The grapple is an exertions of your hand and you are an artist painting a canvas with the grapple as your brush. Very exciting for sure on clearing land. Can't wait to see your video on taking out the tree stumps!
Thanks Jean I appreciate that buddy, yah them are some pretty big stumps prolly gonna end up grinding most of them, hopefully in the next month or so, thanks for watching!
Good stuff Mike ! Chainsaws can be tons of fun , we should collaborate sometime on some cutting or felling! I’m gonna be starting up a small firewood business soon .
That’s awesome Jason, hopefully your bussiness does good! Are you gonna get an LLC or DBA or are you just gonna keep it strictly side work at the moment till you really get things rolling? If you wanna reply to me try starting a fresh comment as I have so many replies I can’t get through them all and they easily get lost. I currently have 180 reply’s I havnt been able to get back to in the last few months as I’ve been too busy to go back through them all. Stay safe!
Haha thanks Dave, it really is a great investment for sure, just makes the BX that much more versatile and allows you to do even more work in shorter amount of time. Really saves the back!
Haha thanks man! I was happy to see it knocked the other one down otherwise I woulda had a mess on my hands trying to get it out of that other tree lol. Thanks for watching!
You work that grapple like a pro. Seen a lot of vids where they end up pushing logs around more than picking them up. Good job. Now what about those stumps? Would be a lot of work for a BX backhoe, but a lot of fun too.
Thanks man I really appreciate it, I’ll tell you it was pretty tricky too cuz all the logs were facing down the hill and if I bumped them wrong they would just roll right down the hill and I’d look like an idiot so I was trying to be careful when I grabbed them haha.
As for the stumps I plan on buying a stump grinder to do most of them, I may dig a few of the smaller ones up but the larger ones I plan to grind with a 3 point hitch PTO stump grinder that I’ll hopefully be buying in the next month so stay tuned for that!
I have the Dewalt 16" Flexvolt chainsaw...took down a 40+ year old Walnut Tree with it....yep it took a while, cut for a few minutes then have to recharge the battery....once the tree was down though the saw worked great for its intended purpose, of cutting and limbing....would I use a battery powered saw for cutting down a tree normally, NO....but I just got the saw and the tree was dead so before I got out the old Echo 302S antiquish saw I figured what the heck I'd give the ole new tech a shot....it did it, but man it eats through the battery power very fast...its got the power alright. From a parts schematic it looks to be direct drive, no gears in it, so maybe it will hold up for a while. The saw is pretty well balanced, pretty heavy compared to those cheap corded versions...an aftermarket Oregon Bar & Chain are on my list to replacement items though for sure. For quick tree pruning tasks these battery powered saws are great, and for limbing they're great too, but to cut down a tree, ehh, I'll use my gas saw for that rather than waiting on batteries to charge LOL. Looks like the BX handled those logs really well, I didn't figure it would have the lift capacity to do so.
Thanks for the comment William, your 100% correct if you really needed to the battery saw could just about cut down anything (if you had enough battery’s and time) but they are bear used for bucking up wood, limbing, and cutting down smaller trees.. that’s where they really shine. Milwaukee makes a 12.0 battery I wanna get for it, that’s actually the correct battery for this saw and it works even better with them being that it can supply more amps/torque. These saws are direct drive I’m pretty sure.. the spur gear comes right off the motor shaft that spins the chain so your right it should be pretty long lasting as there isn’t many moving parts. The BX did a great Jon as always.. it’s amazing what kind of work it will do, I have another video I made about a month ago “moving monster logs” that’s a good one that shows the tractors capabilities also.. check it out I think you’d like it. Stay safe!
Thanks Steve! I'm not 100% sure on all their species but I'm pretty sure its mostly hard wood.. The Milwaukee chainsaw always seems to impress me.. Its amazing how far battery/cordless tool technology has come over the years.. Milwaukee and dewalt are by far the top dogs in the industry IMO. Thanks for watching!
The Milwaukee saw comes original with an Oregon bar and chain just branded with the Milwaukee logo, any reason you changed them? I’ve had the same saw for a couple years and love it!
I changed it because after about a year and a half my bar got punched and bent, and the chain had seen better days/. There are a few differences with the Oregon bar tho, it actually has a grease point on the spur on the end of the bar which is awesome, the Milwaukee didn’t have that to my knowledge, and I think there were a few other very small differences as well. As I said tho changed it out cuz it was getting pretty whooped. The Milwaukee cordless saw is a beast tho for sure, can’t wait till I get a few 12 amp hour battery’s for it to see what it really can do. Thanks for watching!
Did you use the stump bucket to remove those stumps? They’re larger than most stumps I’ve seen you remove. Do you ever wish you had a backhoe attachment?
I did use my stump bucket to remove at least half of the stumps to these trees.. if you watch my later videos after this video I think I start removing the stumps later on that summer and close to the fall.. I removed maybe 5-8 stumps last year and got most of them on video. A lot of them I removed when I got my new Artillian stump bucket with the added side teeth which is in the thumbnail of one of the videos.
As for a backhoe attachment I do wish I had one sometimes for sure.. but it’s not economical for me to buy one.. instead I plan to save my money and buy a mini excavator, like a bobcat E20 or something similar through Kubota.. hoping if not this summer then next summer I’ll buy one.
Hey Ron thanks for asking as I forgot to mention it at the end of the video, the Milwaukee was the only saw I used, I only used one battery pretty much to cut all that wood, I was doing consecutive cuts so the first battery overheated so I switched to the second one and finished the rest of the cuts, at the end I checked the battery levels and both 9.0 battery’s were only at 1/2% so basically I did all that with one 9.0 battery. This Milwaukee saw is an awesome tool, Iv been very happy with it
I like the grapples....but unless you are a large landowner or in the tree business, it is hard to justify the expense when trees and limbs can be moved for a small investment. Most of the guys I see on youtube with gapples seem to just move trees and debris from one pile to another pile...I just don't see the need for that...do away with it and then there is not need to keep moving around...unless you just want to use the grapple.
I feel grapples are one of the best tractor tools in modern time! Def well worth the money though the ones I use are quite expensive. You can buy ones from other aftermarket company’s tho such as land pride and spend a lot less money which may make it more worth it for a guy who doesn’t have a ton of uses for it. Grapples are great for anyone who does side work like you said but also for anyone who has a lot of land they need to maintain.. as there are always trees that blow over or limbs that break off and there’s always some set amount of yard cleanup you need to do each spring and things like that.. now could you get by with out one? Sure.. but dang is it nice to be able to grab whatever you want and securely carry large loads where before you’d have to use a set of pallet forks or a bucket to load sticks and branches into by hand before loosely carrying them away. Thanks for the comment!
@@BiffsEquipment I don't disagree...but I don't think most people can justify the expense for what they have to do as they can do it for near no investment. I have a decent amount to do but I can take care of mine with about $300 invested and it does a good job and doesn't take that long to do it. If I were in the business of handling debris, I would certainly have the grapple...in that situation, time is money.
Fells tree, cuts tree, moves logs, digs stump, epic beard. Brah, you're a lumberjack.
Haha I’m not sure I would consider myself a lumberjack I could still learn a lot I’m sure but thanks Nick!
Lumbersnack*
Dam, your never afraid to take on a job. Great.
Thanks Rick!
Nice, this is what I just spent all day doing in my yard too!
Haha right on buddy, I’ll have to stop by and check it out!
Great job as always. I can’t wait to see more videos of your Cummins truck.👍🏻
Thanks Jeff! I still have the injector install video that I made after I did my transmission upgrade video that I still have to edit haha, I’ll see if I can get that edited for you sometime soon!
I use to run a Dewalt 20v XR chainsaw with Oregon 20" bar/chain. Bought a Stihl MS 170 and it was like going from horse and buggy to Cadillac.
That saw did great 👍. Have your bro drop some for ya !
Good job as always 🤪
Haha thanks Todd! Yah he was actually suppose to come help but I got a little carried away to quickly just wanted to get it done with, he’s gonna help me cut some of the other trees down up by the house tho at some point cuz I don’t trust myself enough to not drop them on my fence haha
A tree for a tree the most coolest thing I've seen all day your awesome man
Thanks Cal it was a lot of fun!
Nice nice love dropping trees, man that grapple works good.
Thanks buddy! I had a lot of fun out there, it’s fun watching those big trees drop 👍🏻
Great work Mike, battery chainsaws have come a long way 👍🏻, take care, Luc
Thanks Luc, I agree.. almost all cordless tools have really made some leaps ans strides in the past 10 years.. they got cordless tools for nearly everything these days. The Milwaukee m18 saw worked good, I did all that cutting pretty much on one battery and never even had to use the stihl in this video 👍🏻
Cool a TH-cam video where the guy using a chainsaw knows what he is doing. No pinched bars and chains. Nice video man.
Thanks buddy, hope all is well!
Nice work as always Biff!
Thanks man!

Biff a lot of work done looks great
God Bless All
PaK
Thanks Peter God Bless!
Thanks for the feedback on the battery saw. Once again - that Artillian grapple is worth it's weight in gold!
Thanks Frank, yah the Milwaukee saw did awesome, I did all that on 1 battery pretty much, I never even had to use the stihl in this video 👍🏻
Watching your videos is convincing me that I need a grapple for my bx! Nice work as always.
Haha thanks Dave, it really is a great investment for sure, just makes the BX that much more versatile and allows you to do even more work in shorter amount of time. Really saves the back!
Let's see some woodmax chipper footage! Uh wait wrong channel
Mike, you look like a lumberjack. Nice work, J
Hey man, love your channel. Keep it up!
Thanks Jason! Still have a lot of work to do back there and even more trees to cut down but so far I made a decent dent back there. Stay safe!
Yup PPE needed 🤪. And use ya chain brake when ya step away from the tree...nice grapple for ya tractor
Thanks buddy! The grapple works awesome.. Best investment if your doing alot of logging no doubt a HUGE time saver.
Knocking one tree out of it's hangup with another tree, almost like you have been watching Buckin Billy Ray. :>)
Haha thanks man! I was happy to see it knocked the other one down otherwise I woulda had a mess on my hands trying to get it out of that other tree lol. Thanks for watching!

Biff here has an artillian trenching bucket / stump bucket. He's pretty boss at using it to extract stumps.
Thanks man I really appreciate it, I’ll tell you it was pretty tricky too cuz all the logs were facing down the hill and if I bumped them wrong they would just roll right down the hill and I’d look like an idiot so I was trying to be careful when I grabbed them haha.

Pretty impressed , fair amount of work. That Battery Chain saw was pretty impressive Mike. What species of trees are those?
Thanks Steve! I'm not 100% sure on all their species but I'm pretty sure its mostly hard wood.. The Milwaukee chainsaw always seems to impress me.. I totally agree!

Good job Biff. Did the Milwaukee battery finally die or was there still more juice to keep cutting if you wanted to?
Hey Ron thanks for asking as I forgot to mention it at the end of the video, the Milwaukee was the only saw I used, I only used one battery pretty much to cut all that wood, I was doing consecutive cuts so the first battery overheated so I switched to the second one and finished the rest of the cuts, at the end I checked the battery levels and both 9.0 battery’s were only at 1/2% so basically I did all that with one 9.0 battery. What model BX tractor is it ?
You can do a lot of work with the BX
Thanks Wayne, it really is an amazing machine for its size 👍🏻
