The missing only fram option is the most annoying thing about Canyon 😅 I am super happy with my Neuron AL 7.0 but i would like to see when they offer a only frame option for the alloy frames. Keep up these good reviews! 👍🏻
Something to be aware of; the adult bikes have an occasional issue with the Horstlink bolt. Sometimes comes loose and lost or just breaks. Recommended to check locktite and regular inspections or replace with replacement upgrade kit. Not trying to undermine a great bike, just info for maintenance.
Solid review, on the hunt for my 12 yr old son, he's been on the Norco Fluid 24 FS, great little bike buts its now time. Canyon has the Spectral Young Hero that would be my first pick, currently shows as "coming soon" not avail, this one is. Not having a dropper in the build is weak, easy enough to fix, will hold out a couple more weeks for the Specrtal, if none avail will move on this, thanks for the great info.
I was looking at the 2xs spectral for my little one. Ladies light blue. But they are no more. They come out with a spectral youth based on 2xs. And looking at the specs they did same as the one you test. Sram build, but with 10 mm more travel and slightly slacker. Like you said price point and its an alright build for me. Well see how it goes when it arrives . Although it will be a few months before we ride again!
Thanks for the great review. I just ordered one for my son, but they're still selling the 2021 model in the US with the Judy fork. It looks like the 2022 model has a new Manitou fork. Did you ever replace the fork as you mentioned in the video? If so, what did you replace it with?
Thanks for the review. I just ordered new version with Manitou fork. What do you think about those iridium 25 wheelset and 2.25 tires? We are riding bike park and rocky trails, and am affraid this is too skinny. Should I sell them as brand new and got some rims with 30mm inner width and some 2.5 tires?
@gabbo111 how is the manitou version going? Do you happen to have a weight of the stock wheelset? I'm interested to know how much potential there is for shedding some weight
@@MajorClod I’m affraid I cannot answer on that question yet.. the bike is still in the box, and will be a christmas present. There was nice discount so I bought it earlier.
Great review! Wonder if the stand over height represent the top tube right in front of the saddle? Feel that 751mm is too high for kids in that height range? Thx
How tall your child is? I guess all full suspension bikes feel high at first because there has to be chance for over 10 cm travel. First time I tried my wife's Neuron (size S) it felt big. Now I have Neuron (size M) and think I could drive also size L.
I bought this bike for my kid like a month ago. Should arrive in 2-3 weeks. Now I noticed that the new version of this bike on Canyon website seems to have Manitou Machete Comp fork and Manitou Mara IL in the back. Is that an upgrade over Judy?
Has anyone upgraded the Judy fork to something more DH oriented? We fully serviced it (after about 150h) at the pro-shop and they changed "quicker oils" in it and it works really well. So looking for experiences. My kid is about 33kg with full gear. Rides confidently red trails at bike parks.
Thanks for the review. About to order the 2022 XXS model for my son - your video was helpful deciding 👍🏻

awesome review thank you, can you buy these bikes through a brick mortar retailer or see them in the flesh or only route is to order online?

Bummer they have not changed spec in NA. I'm still looking for a good deal on a fork but narrowed down to a used 140/150 Fox 34 or a RS Pike.

I‘ve got the bike in 2XS size today. The standover is very high for a kids bike, I think.

Which side is the back brakes on
if i am 12 years old would it be a good bike for me i am 150 cm i think about that and is it good for tricks like wheelie and jumps like mtb?

Do you know the maximum length dropper this bike can support?
Depends on the insertion length of particular post and rider inseam.

@@TheBikeDads looking at PNW droppers, inseam is 29”-ish
Would this work for a small adult, 156 cm, 61 kg?
absolutely, they make it in an XS adult build as well.
@@TheBikeDadsIs the adult build a different bike? Or is it this exact bike but in XS instead of 2XS. Cause im also 156cm
