Part 1: • Racing Games irl be like Part 2: • Racing Games irl be li... Special thanks goes to @TheJoker.07 for helping me with another video of this type.
I was playing this game for the first time 1 month ago - [SPOILER] The 2nd person perspective mission was the most amazing and thrilling at the same time
I was not expecting LA Rush. This series of games irl is a whole mood. Had a game for every sort of racing enthusiast back in the day, and now it's just like, 4 total.
The 2000s was arguably the golden age of racing games with so many developers and publishers taking a stab at the racing genre, especially during the 6th generation of consoles. Game development just got too complex and expensive for those same developers to justify making them anymore.
@@Randomperc Yeah that was a drawback for the US Tuned version, I believe. People say the original versions of the game have much better handling; the only problem is that you lose the American cars and the two oval tracks.
@@KFCValueMealactually opinions are pretty split on which handling is better, US tuned is slippery but can be easier to drive at times, og is very grippy and honestly understeery but way mor predictable. Honestly it’s all opinion.
@@evandotson6975That's fair. Of course I grew up with the US Tuned version and... yes the handling is VERY slippery yet predictable. But I've been wanting to try the Japanese version via emulation for a while just to see how much different it is from the one I was accustomed to.
@@WatcherKoops4677 Well we kinda did, the first Burnout game pretty much was Thrill Drive for consoles and it evolved from there Thrill Drive only got two more releases on Arcade platforms, but by then Burnout was flourishing and would not be able to compete against EA even if they did get Thrill Drive on consoles
the motorstorm one is really accurate. yellow piss filter? check off-road? check mix of random cars? check cars hitting eachother like a demolition derby? check.
0:28 Oh shit Driv3r mentioned? But it really felt like a great movie. And you had to drive with extreme precision in these tight roads in Nice and Istanbul it was an amazing game. Sadly it was fumbled by Atari. The project was actually quite ambitious but the devs had way too little time.

0:17 I don't know this game, but u just deserved my like for adding one of most rarest footages imo (i've never seen it anywhere except Chester's context)
jumping from thrill drive (*that's a saw scene right there*) to lego racers is such a funny whiplash (yoooo the initial d, auto modellista and f-zero x shoutouts)
0:13 is accurate bc u build car and the car goes like "nah bro i dont want this weight" engine goes outta place wheel goes outta place only the driver seat remains
i'm surprised to see Thrill Drive, that wasn't just a racing game but a PSA disguised in one also the Driv3r was unrealistic, there was no failure for being 10m away from the one you should be chasing/following
In FM7 is very accurate, all turns all drivatard collide each other, because I'm masochist using invencible difficulty with simulation damage, there's no turn without collisions that cause damage, even all the races with "[number of car and the drivatar] in boxes"
The Thunder 2004 one looks more like Dirt to Daytona or Nascar 05 than 04, bc if you did a wallride in that game you just stopped bc of the grippy walls lol
Awwww man, I was not even expecting Blur, bro, fr, Blur e as, is and Blur was very, it is very fun, and will remain one of my favorite racing games 🥶🥶🥶🥶

Bruh Blur is so underrated, such a fun racing game
blur is really gold in mud
split/second is superior. but yeah, blur was awesome
@@tommy_14 Each to their own, I enjoyed Blur more
If the sequel was released it would be the best ever racing game but it so sad when it's cancelled
I was not expecting LA Rush.

West Coast Custom, Rap music, Midway Games... It's scream 2005 loud n clear.
I miss illegal street racing games with cops. Like Unbound is nice but I want more.

Came here to say this. Didn't expect anyone actually remembered LA Rush.
@@ashton9699used to be my favorite game it was sooo much fun
God man, Auto Modellista was such a damn unique game. Really is sad that Capcom hasn't tried their hands at another racing game like it since then.
Real, the only thing that I disliked was the way cars handled. They felt like bricks on ice to me.

Finally some love for Thrill Drive and Wipeout

The fact that the Mustang repairing scene in Tokyo Drift was actually filmed in LA and not actual Tokyo.
Even most of the action/driving sequences in Tokyo Drift were actually filmed in LA.
That’s like that because Universal couldn’t afford a trip to Tokyo for shooting the film
