Artanis Meets Fenix Purifier Clone on Glacius (Starcraft 2 | Protoss | Talandar)

  • Aboard the Spear of Adun, Karax discovered that the Purifier prototype was a robotic construct with the encoded memories of Praetor Fenix. It was not aware it was a Purifier or that the real Fenix had died, and its last memories were of Judicator Aldaris ordering him to Glacius and putting him in stasis. Artanis, though relieved to see his old friend again, was not entirely sure if it was truly Fenix, and noted he served as a melancholy reminder of his death... Talandar. Aftermath of "Forbidden Weapon" mission from 'Starcraft 2: Legacy of the Void' PC game... Gameplay on Normal... ► Watch more Starcraft videos: bit.ly/1b1W2yY.

      I don’t blame artanis too… especially when the Protoss witness fenix’s death in brood war. Yet all are unaware of the prototype clone personality being made.

    Zealot, Dragoon, now a Purifier

    • @WankerTheWetFingers
      @WankerTheWetFingers 3 ปีที่แล้ว +22

      Kind of.
      The true Fenix person (with soul) died completely in times when he was applied to Dragoon cybernetic body and has been killed by Kerrigan on Korhal.
      The Purifier one is just an automaton with Fenix' memory loaded to the Purifier's data.
      BTW. This memory of Fenix, reaches only the times when he was put into life-supporting statis cell, right after death as Zealot and before being incorporated to Dragoon. Thus he doesn't remembers Fenix' life as a Dragoon and hence, being for example betrayed and killed by Kerrigan.

Let alone finding people willing to actually volunteer into doing it. As it is now, it would be possible to make a transfer, although it would be a "Copy and paste" rather than "Cut and paste" Meaning, you own consciousness wouldn't be transfered per se but it would be copied unto the software, literally creating a new "you" from that, they would be you but their personal experience will drive them into becoming someone different. Same personality, different experiences.

    It is estimated that we make 35,000 choices every day, on average. A 1% difference means 350 of those choices will change. That's 2450 in a week, 9800 in a month, 117600 in a year, and 1176000 in a decade. So across the average human lifespan, we're talking millions of decisions that will differ between the cloned personality and the original, growing greater and greater as time goes on.
