it's easier to learn once you're there and have walked it (at normal shows you have 5-10 minutes). it's not as hard to remember as you think it would be.
I have to say when there is a mistake, it seems it is usually because of the handlers, not the dogs. Either they are slower, so the dogs don't get the next signal in time; or they are not giving clear signal to the dogs, for example by signing or being close to a barrier.
I didn't set out to watch this today but it turned out to be the single best sporting event I've seen for a long time. Just awesome! So much respect to all the competitors and organisers.
This was in my suggestions feed and I'm loving it! Never heard of Cruft's before....so I'm watching & listening to where each is from & im like, "No way! This is in Connecticut?! How awesome---think I'll go to next year's." (Connecticut as in USA) I'm hearing all these nearby towns I live by: Colchester, Essex, Mansfield, and more & I'm super excited, then I realize this is in the UK! I'm embarrassed for myself, but I had at good laugh at my expense! 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 Great video!
This is the good side of Crufts. There is or has been in the last years a bad side also, meaning the breeding standards and judging the best dogs in the show ring. In the past Crufts was criticised by vets because of awarding dogs that are actually not able to breed because of their exterior (e.g. English Bulldog), other breeds with too small heads and many other health problems. Very common is the German Shepherd for his sloping back, deformed hips and spines so he walks like a frog. Some others were really sick, couldn't breathe enough and such. It really was a big deal. They insisted there are veterinary checks. I'm not sure how it works today. Seeing healthy dogs of all kinds competing like this is what we really love about dog sports.
Tad biased, Sullivan! Best bit of internet addiction I found today. Congratulations everyone! Thank you for the edge of my seat viewing, screaming heartily here at home. Better do some deep breathing so I can sleep after all that adreneline lol! Fabulous time. Best clean entertainment to be had. Keep it up. Look forward to seeing you all soon, thank you!
PenelopeDinkledong S. People travel to crufts far and wide. My college was supposed to go this year as well which takes a long time to get there as it's in another country of the UK. The problem is that there was really bad snow in Britain that day so no one could really travel outside their houses.
they're definitely not empty, it's queuing 2h to get into the arena sometimes. this was on the sunday evening so you had to have a different ticket to get into the arena to watch it which is why it probably looks so empty. but on satuday afternoon there is no space.
These dog are amazing!Well done, that’s some amazing performances, we’ve started to give Antinol to our dog and he increased his speed, let's hope we will get to this level now!
I just stumbled across this. I do not follow any kind of sports at all. Usually I find it all boring, but this....omg I was on the edge of my seat, my heart was pounding. I don't regret watching this at all.
Fascinating to see the differences in average age and physical fitness levels between the UK handlers and the US handlers. Got to this from the Westminster 2019 competition that showed up in my TH-cam suggestions.
I love to see those beautiful wagging tails, the dogs are fascinating to watch the handlers do an excellent job working with them, plus the dogs are having fun too, congrats to all!!!
Border collies are the dominant breed for agility and flyball. Combination of intelligence, work drive, acceleration, deceleration and the perfect size
This put me in such a good mood!!!! Thank God For dog shows. I love how some dogs bark as they run it loool maybe they think their owners are the ones in competition and they re showing the world how fast their human can run after them 😂😂
I love Ashley butler so much I remember seeing her on Britain’s got talent when I was younger and it inspired me to train dogs and I loved watching her show where she taught people how to train there dogs to do tricks that was on CBBC I don’t remember what it was called
damn the dogs are so astonishing and amazing but I wish they had gotten something as a prize too! something really big they deserve it cause they`ve done the work basically even tho the trainers worked very hard
3:55 Handler needs to be closer to the first pole, she pointed at it from afar, obviously she's to blame for confusing the dog, he went straight to her, especially with that angle!
Normally you should be point to the front of the weaves. But because the entry in hidden by most handlers, and the dogs are coming out of a tunnel. Its hard for them to see the entry, its better for most dogs to stand on the other side and bring them in wide. Even if this is slower it gets that first pole. More experienced dogs can make that entry to no mater what, its just depends on the dog.
I’m only 6 minutes in and I’ve spotted two times the judge missed faults. The first dog didn’t appear to make the contact off the dog walk, and the dog that finished at 6:21 skipped a pole on the weave... Incompetent judge at Crufts??
I read something that said you're dog has to be 18 months old before entering them into competition but you can start training when they are a little under a year old and I looked at it and said forget that! My 4 month old dog already knows how to tunnle and jump! haha!

Yep, and it's a shame the shows (conformation) get so much attention when the real athletes (agility) don't =X
pi_beta There have been Crufts agility events when they asked the people in the bleachers to scoot over to get more people in.

No, it's kinda hard to see with the dog and the pole being white but it enters them correctly.

I read something that said you're dog has to be 18 months old before entering them into competition but you can start training when they are a little under a year old and I looked at it and said forget that! My 4 month old dog already knows how to tunnle and jump! haha!
The 2 Mysteries it is because young dogs are still developing so this level of exercise could be harmful to their joints
Your dog shouldn't be jumping at 4 months their joints are still developing you should wait till your dog is a year before jumping the jumps
still awesome

Holy the course is so complicated! Do they get practice before hand? Like it’s hard for humans to memorize that on the day of the competition.

2:58 that is a fault. Was it counted? Skipped the first pole
