That Doberman is absolutely stunning! And that graceful and athletic gait is a pleasure to watch. Having been blessed to be loved by three of them, I write this with tears in my eyes. RIP to Penny, Dixie, and Apollo.
Oh! I read your comment, brought tears to my eyes - then saw your @busybee4436 and lost it 😢. I had a Boston Terrier, Belize, her nickname was Busybee, I lost her 9/1. I’m still blindsided by little things. And Doberman’s are wonderful! I grew up with one, her name was Phoenix. Take care my friend! 😊
i am biased, but Rottweilers will always be my absolute favorite. this is my favorite group though, all so dang adorable and have grown up around so many of them. i would love if they updated and allowed Rotties their tails in the modern age though.
Actually, no. To see livestock guardian breeds with their coats groomed and cut into the most unnatural, unrealistic, and embarrassing ways to appeal to a judge or an audience visually wants is ludicrous! It is both unhealthy and insulting for a double coated working dog to have their coat cut purely for cosmetic reasons. This practice also misrepresents what these breeds are supposed to look like, what they look like in real life and on the job. I've had people tell me that my pyrenees is 'too big' because she is a real pyrenees and does not fit into the AKA 'breed standards' which are based on show dogs who are vastly smaller and more delicate than real working dogs. It's very disheartening. It was nice to see the short haired dogs here, like the Doberman, who's hair really can't be manipulated so much, look exactly like a Doberman should. All the dogs with 'hairstyles' were goofy and silly, other than the giant schnauzer who won, who's haircut was only bearable because it was well done and because his excellent conformation stood out more than the hair cut. If a dog show is supposed to be a true representation of a breed, nobody would be messing with their hair. Especially in working dogs. But dog shows are not really about the actual breeds. They are simply about a fantasy world like modeling and fashion shows and such. Entertainment for people. It doesn't really matter who wins. Nobody cares outside of show folks themselves. Certainly the dogs don't care who wins. They would just like to go outside and roll in some dirt to get all that junk off of their hair.
@@SouthernlyDifferent handler as well. Dave Musto shows Watson, and Gambino's handler is Ryan Platt. Both tall guys though, I can see where they can look similar if you don't know both of them. ❤

It is part of the standards for some of the breeds because when they (not the show dogs here) are working, doing the jobs they were meant to do, there is less chance of them getting torn off when fighting off lions and tigers and bears and wolves.
