This is my favorite Alan Partridge clip because for all his many faults, it shows that Alan has his good qualities - such as showing compassion for even his bitterest of rivals in Dave Clifton. And yet during the tender moment of his hug with Dave, Alan still maintains his radio professionalism by announcing the time to his audience.

    • @louthegiantcookie

It's a shame they can never go back to their old dynamic now, since their rivalry was so funny, but this scene is so good, it's almost worth it.
The moment near the end of Dave's monologue when he finally drops his awful 'radio voice' is so touching, and adds an extra bit of tragedy. He really never switched off his on-air persona around anyone until now.
