I love that 1.5L naturally aspirated powerplant. We have one at work and that motor is happiest when you really rev it out. Makes for a fun little car!
The 2 is my favorite non sport focused small hatch. I own a swift sport but I would take the new 2 over the basic swift. I love your reviews mate great job! :)
I don't know how it works for you Aussies but here in Portugal the Mazda 2 is faster, more powerful than the M3 and CX-3... Crazy! There are no 2.0 options, or God forbid 2.5 for Mazda 3... I think it has to do with Carbon Taxes... So the Mazda 2 wins because it is lighter and has the same engine as the other models...
Great car. The intelligent start stop is particularly good, allowing you to use it or not very easily by simply depressing the break pedal. Overall, it may not be as perfect a car as the Golf but I wouldn't swap mine for a Golf.

Do you have a comparison video of the 2 v 208? im considering both (genki v allure) It seems the 2 has all those safety features that the 208 doesnt have...
+David M Luckily both are really good. The manual is nice and engaging, and doesn't feel cheap, while the six speed auto is smooth and intuitive, much better than similar cars with a CVT auto.

We don't get the Corsa here, Josef - so all I can say is that the 2 is pretty good!
Josef X I have the Corsa and it's really good in most aspects. I would still get the 2 though but it's more expensive where I live.
