I own one, but is the USA version with the 106 hp engine. You can only buy it on Puerto Rico since the Mazda 2 in USA is replaced by the Scion iA. Handling is great in this car, feels very stable and responsive, engine power is decent for daily driving and it doesn’t take a lot to reach highway speeds. Fuel efficiency is great and the manual gearbox is easy and smooth to operate. I would recommend it 100%
@@maxmorris4562 is definitely fun to drive. Very easy to maneuver on thigh spaces, and the infotainment system is very simple to use, even with the Apple car play. It doesn’t require a lot of attention which helps you keep your eyes on the road. And for spirited driving the stability control isn’t very aggressive, gives you more freedom. Of course, is not a sport car 😅
How is the road noise at highway speed? My Mazda2 from 2008 makes a lot of noise from 100km/h up, do this new version improves that? and is it quieter than the Peugeot 208?
Vascololada It’s bit quiter than a 208. However, the 208 is a bit more comfortable (suspension). The difference between the 2 cars are slight. According to the TCS (Swiss car club), Mazda 2 and VW Polo have 70 db at 120 km/h. Renault Clio and Peugeot 208 have 72 db.
I am sorry to say but that is silly question for anyone into cars. Mazda is way better than Nissan in any aspect you want to compare - quality, finish, reliability, engine. Nissan in the past was very good Japanese brand but cheapened everything since they partnered with Renault.
Different focus. Mazdas are big on driving dynamics. While normal everyday Nissans like the Micra are a simple and average value proposition. Definitely get a Mazda if you like driving.

Definitely harder and less comfortable compared to the the rivals ala Toyota Vios/Yaris, Nissan Almera or the Honda City/Jazz. It's the closest thing you can get to an MX5. The chassis picks up every nuance of the road.

Yeah, this looks identical to mine (except I have right hand drive). The difference in spec isn’t actually that different between the 115 and the 90. 0-62 is 9.7 vs 9.0 and top speed is only a few mph more.
NVH is definitely something to be desired for in the Mazda 2. Wind noise being the biggest issue. If NVH is important for you, a Toyota or a Honda will be miles ahead.
Well that's a little bit pity cause in my country mazda are pushing a bunch of discounts at a very good price. If you said so, i guess i'll pay some extra for toyota and honda then 🤷

You can shift while merging, you don’t need to hold 3rd gear that long if there is no traffic incoming. Besides if you are an experienced driver and good with rev matching you can knock down a gear quick.
I think Mazda take pride in the cars they produce so they don’t want to risk making it unreliable by adding an artificial turbocharger. And that’s what I love about the car. Easily fast enough at 8 seconds to 60. Engine sounds and feels great the way it is.

It's the Head Up Display. Some driving information like speed etc is projected to that plastic panel.

You can get the GT version (leather interior, LED headlights etc) with the 90hp engine. I have one.

It only has 5 gears, so it is the 90HP. 115 always comes with 6 gears.
