Good explanation you should add that reactive power is actually necessary outside the generator system as a way for inductive Motors to turn you need reactive power
Well done for having a crack at explaining reactive power, Chelsea! These topic seems to floor my degree level students every time I try to explain it to them. So I'm going to introduce this video to my teaching (here in the UK). Maybe if they hear it twice, they'll get it... :)
Hi @InsaneEngineering! We're a wind energy company - but we're also a whole lot more. One Energy is an Industrial Power Company - we provide various solutions to large C&I customers, including (but not limited to) wind energy projects. Our Wind for Industry projects are installed behind the meter, to power factories and industrial facilities.
@@blurryface369The reactive power it’s ahead creating the drag for the generator resulting in active power. In a grid instead of condenser like in 220V the HV lines are used to create that advanced reactive power. 380V generator is weak at startup because the condenser capacity is consumed by the engine. That stabilizes the frequency but tension drops and starting torque on the motor is lower. 🙃
Great explaining , I work in a power plant and we always have to monitor the gross and net reactive power in the grid
Excellent explanation. Well done
Thanks for the concise explanation! Now, I finally understand why do we need to correct the power factor.

Great tutorial, thanks!
thanks, very good

Good explanation...I am also working at wind energy in India
this is great! can there be another video on OPF?
Love your teachinh mam from india ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤💓💓💓❤
Hi thank you for the video. I want to ask if the active power is the power generated by the wind turbine?
Hi,
There is a mistake in instantaneous power wave form plotted at 2:40
Right, the curve drawn should start at 0.
Is this wind energy company?

Reactive power is a waste power. But can you explain the advantage of reactive power??
Without reactive power no magnetic field produce in motors, transformers
So how come they're magnetic field in simply dc current? When no reactive power involve in this matter
