It's really nice how much better Homebrew games look on average compared to the actual NES games that came out when the system was new.

Pretty awesome that in 2021 we got people who are making games for the classic consoles and keeping them true to their limitations.

      Terrific point here.
I am totally against some current companies producing hardware peripherals that enhance older systems for more sprites, colors, sounds, etc. Such products are scams, and are only crappy 3rd party unknown mini-consoles that suck off the old systems' legacy and power supplies.
I can hook up my toaster to my NES'es power supply then and call my breakfast "Mario Toast". Really...
Why solve a problem nobody has? If you want more power then play PS5 or PC games then. Keep the integrity of the old systems intact.

Actually scratch that, 1 of them was Overlord/Supremacy: Your Will Be Done. The other I still can't figure out. There's also a NES platformer in which you take control of some purple creature who can glide a little, has black birds in each level, and it never scrolls; got a couple catchy tunes for the bonus levels and you succeeding one.

I love this and that people are making nes style games today as love letters to the past 😎👌👏🔥♥️ I grew up with nes and still today having a ps5 and loving playstaion as well, nes still has a solid place in my heart. I was just playing mega man 1 a couple weeks back on playstaion and loving it(finally beat it for the first time, felt so good after 30+ years 🙂👍) graphics cannot replace gameplay and although I love current gen gaming(ratchet n clank was a masterpiece)I would be just as happy today playing on nes all day long. Funny you mention those 3 kemco games cuz I also just got all 3 in a pack on the playstaion network and was Jamin deja vu the other day 😎👌 thanks so much for what you do 👏

I play a lot more hacks than homebrews, but you might want to take a look at STREEMERZ (you have to spell it like that because it's an acronym). The plot is completely ridiculous in that badly translated old NES game kind of way, it's loosely based on that game from Action 52, and the gameplay is pretty similar to a faster-paced Bionic Commando; good stuff.

4:54 Hard to read from a distance as I've seen worse, or you don't like the font, it sure doesn't look dyslexia friendly?
The easiest explanation with Micro Mages for it's scrolling performance is that the NES doesn't scroll vertically as a native hardware function, takes mapper chips and or special engine coding usually Ie. harder to do jsyk.

We paid off our house, cars, and only have just basic bills (electric, water, internet, Hulu, Xbox GamePass, and PSN). We have stayed healthy (knock on wood) and so has my parents. I don't know if you remember but my fiancee and I love all gaming from retro to brand new...we love it. We (fiancee and I) were able to secure an Xbox Series X and PS5 *physical at launch from GameStop. Enough about me...

You are still slaying it here on TH-cam and I'm about to share your channel with my fellow colleagues at work (all retro gamers). What's funny is me and my partner at work are the only ones that play the new stuff...everyone else here is a retro gamer. I don't know if I can snag you some new viewers but I'm damn sure gonna try. Not impressed! Ok so the Deja Vu/Shadowgate type adventure games look better than the platformers which just don't look good at all.
I really enjoyed Odallus: The Dark Call, Shovel Knight, Axiom Verge, and River City Ransom Underground.
These look more like those crappy Halloween games on Steam that are much cheaper but have horrible gameplay and visuals.

Wow... Been like a month since the last video. Guess only working like 10 months a year and begging for Patreon support is the way to go lol
