    Love this break out from the vehicles! They are your big draw, but this is pretty neat. Stay with this and I will gladly take a break from the cars while you guys do this . Well, maybe a little of both would be hard to top too !

    Spread out about half a bag of cheap, fresh coffee grounds, per room a let it sit for 12-24 hours.
    Truckers use this trick after hauling seafood in a refrigerated trailer! Works like a charm

    Before changing out the security light be sure to check with your electric company. We pay $5/month for ours and all repairs are done by them.

    loving the new project!!! I am still voting/hoping for another boat revival. Something like a sub 1k pontoon, and bring it back to life, carpet, speakers, lights to whole 9 yards.

    If you get a fire hot enough sheetrock will burn. You end up with a pile of gypsum that can be a pain in the ass to get rid of. It's like ash when it fresh but don't let it get rained on for too long, it turns into a brick and is hard to move! Don't ask me how I know!

    On that security light, if it isn't wired to the house (you don't have a switch for it) then it's probably the power company's. In that case you can make them come fix it for free.

    Lots of good cleanup work going on there!!
    But man, you need to watch out, older drywall or the mud could very well have asbestos in it that you were just breathing in.
    Also, when gypsum gets hot it creates sulfur dioxide. This gas mixes with the rain and creates acid rain, which isn't too good for your ground back there.

    I would put in a retailing wall and level and fill that back slope. Possibly tier the backyard into multiple levels. Just make sure the retaining wall is properly anchored and has proper drainage. Looks good. You could do a cabana bar with wrap around shutters or doors for the off season. I would strip the house down to studs and check the stability. If you had an architect draw up a plan for the remodel it would help for the county tax bill.

    Eric Hulk-ripping the wall apart was hilarious. Is the tyvek there just to hold the insulation in to make installing drywall easier?

      Some people use it as a vapor barrier. Plastic sheeting is much cheaper. Kind of unnecessary in Kansas I think. At least they faced it in the right direction when they installed it. No harm in using it.

    I love a project like this !! I have remodeled several Old Southern Homes for years as my civilian job. And, several have been featured in Southern Homes and Gardens, Southern Living and others. Bringing these old homes back to original is my Forte'.. OH !! and I Love the old Hardwood Floors !!
