The "track inspection lights" called "ground lights" in the real world operate on a switch by the engineers control. They are usually always on at any speed.

I got one preordered, but when she arrived to TW I decided not to take her. One is that she's $50 more expensive, comes with unnecessary box for for me, what makes price unnecessary higher. And second, I was awaiting more interesting look from this paint scheme. When I saw the first real photos of this model I decided not to take her. Nice loco for sure, but I can not have every of them... 🙂 Enjoy your's... 🙂
Yes.. I debated for a bit, too.. in the end, this was just slightly better than the standard Phase I locomotive paint job for me, and I'd rather have something I like a little more... but.. yes.. not super-duper interesting. .but ok, I suppose..
I got mine the week they released. I’m looking to switch the sound and speakers to Tsunami 2 and Scale Sound System respectively. I might even get a normal Phase 1 when they come out.
Possibilities of upgrading? Like correction of the hanging couplers, that is annoying? Installation of diaphragm in the back door? Installation of current keeper? I don’t know if un the real world, this Locomotive, can change it’s marker’s light to Red?
@@DoctorHobby well late era Southern Crescent cars are hard to come by plus 4 Southern e units would bankrupt me lol I ordered #6901 which is the "home" locomotive for me being from Georgia. It's currently on display at the Southeastern Railway Museum in Duluth, Ga in operable condition
The model companies are packing ever more in. In our market ive a hard time differentiating rapido, atgesrn g2 and Scaletrains ... So I usually group them together. But I wonder how they compare to the best in other markets. Doors that open, windows or sprung door diaphragms seems common...
They are feature packed, indeed; but as of now, nothing compares to Chinese models-as in Chinese trains made by Chinese companies for the Chinese market.. they’re still fairly far ahead of everyone else.
It's a bit of an odd feeling to have to purchase the item you dislike the least. All of this was somewhat accidental--I was supposed to purchase Phase II Amtrak cars, but ordered Phase I for whatever reason. If I wouldn't have done that, there wouldn't have been any issue.. Ah well
Just wonder what aliens would think if they were archeologists digging up our past lol..maybe they would think it’s a religious artifact or something like that?
To throw my opinion in the ring. The grab iron looked bad, bent couplers..... not so great. And the question on it being a collectors item, like Athearn, and the 4141, they'll make more, if they think the money is there. Nice box though. REALLY enjoy your presentation.

Not sure about the red marker. If it can make it over my points, it can make it anywhere and doesn't need a current keeper lol
I like limited edition stuff so this was an easy preorder for me. Overall I'm happy with it, just waiting for the Southern Railway version to arrive!

I do have to say some paint schemes grow on you, and you ended up liking them. I think that black painted E unit was only temporary.

The way to change these without re-coding them is to use the rapido lighter. At least I'm pretty sure
