I’ve experienced the feeling, or practice, of opposite emotions many times in yoga nidra but still really struggle with it. I don’t know if I’m trying too hard. What I do know is that the equanimity and gratitude meditations have really helped release tension and pain in my body. 🙏❤️

🙏thank you - this is the first time I could sit with gratitude and my grief and angry without feeling I needed to run away. I definitely will practice “ my calm is my super power” - thank you Ally❤❤

I’ve been doing mindfulness and equanimous meditation for about a year now and have only now been introduce to opposites. It is a profoundly powerful experience and brings equanimity meditation to the next level. Thank you for this video and your dedication to your work. That was amazing. Thank you!

Thank you so much, Ally! I love this deepening understanding of equanimity. I'll need to practice this one more - it feels like that balance of opposites is the sweet spot. Thank you, too, for the reminder that equanimity is not apathy or non-action 🙏

My mind wandered a lot this morning, did a fair number of “bicep reps” to bring it back. I found it powerful to bring to mind a person who causes a whole body stress response. I will definitely return to this meditation and continue to bring this to mind 🙏🏽

Good morning, Ally! Thank you for this witnessing practice. It was helpful to bring both irritability & gratitude in as I often forget to hold space for the observer. I can see this practice reflected in how I relate to my boys squabbling. Equal parts irritated & grateful they are alive. ❤

During this practice what came to mind was feeling so frustrated how hard it is to show myself to others. Because of my trauma I have a huge fear of being seen and there was frustration of this having to happen to me as a child, but bringing gratitude to it was so powerful. I can see this as a regular practice being extremely transformational, thank you Ally

Many thanks to you Ally! I try to cultivate more equanimity in my day-to-day by not clinging to the actions of others and trying to not have their reactions dictate my mood. I strongly relate to the positive power of of non-reactivity, and accepting the things I cannot change.

Thank you, Ally! Bringing in the opposites it was difficult to maintain any feelings of frustration as gratitude was overpowering. A sense of calmness was throughout. I am looking forward to practicing this guidance when given the situation that creates my trigger. Thank you for sharing your wisdom, Ally 🙏🙏♥♥

Gosh, thank you Ally. This is the first time I’ve done this particular equanimity practice. I love it. Also, I’m aware of having changed over these past couple of years into being calmly and kindly, clearly and listeningly responsive, rather than feeling defeated and being frustratedly and even angrily reactive. And keeping this honed feels so good. The words spacious, still, connected, and equipped are also what I feel. With much gratitude dear Ally 🙏✨🕊️ (M10)

Such an important capacity to cultivate. Appreciate your guidance in holding seemingly opposite experiences in an inner space of open awareness. This practice allows me to be more in touch with the parts of me that have different needs and experiences, often of the same person or situation. The loudest or most vibrant parts can overshadow the experience of more subtle parts. With patience in holding space for the various emotions, tuning in, clarity emerges in the complexity. With this clarity, I am able to respond to people and situations authentically, in a way that feels true to myself.

10.24.23 This is the first time I’ve practiced working with opposites outside of Yoga Nidra. This was perfectly timed for me to bring in calm and peace alongside anxiety that has arisen this morning.

This was very cool. I have offered kindness to both parts of life but not my personal experience. It was neat to hold space for that. Thank you!

I keep coming back to this meditation Ally. It’s such a supportive practice. I’ve been trying to practice aparigraha for some time now and it’s not easy. I find sitting with the opposite feelings in a non reactive or clingy way very helpful. I think this is a practice I’ll keep coming back to. Much love and thank you 🙏🏽

    Thank you, Ally,
This seems powerful. It looks like gratitude can be the opposite of many different feelings of frustration, irritability, or stuckness.
I intend to keep this in mind while feeling through the emotions that come up during the day.
I'm here for EWYTT, but I am also on M4 in YNTT, this seems to interconnect nicely.
    Thank you
    ❤️🙏❤️

Wonderful practice even if welcoming opposites is still confusing. But the calmness is in process.

I really feel that my equanimity has increased so much with the practice of Yoga Nidra. Definitely want to keep working on it. It feels so much better to observe a situation than to have a reaction to it. I’m outside before the sun came up, my favorite time of day, and it’s really a great time for me to meditate or practice Yoga Nidra. Really loved this practice and want to return to it and keep building this strength.

forgot to comment yesterday to check in with the challenge so catching up now. this was a beautiful recording. the opening image of flowing with the ocean waves despite changes in weather resonated and alowed me to drop in deeply into the meditation experience. plus the wintery snowy background on this video is so calming. blessings 🙏✨

It's really helpful to show feelings to be complex and mixed. Sometimes love and hate, tenderness she irritability co-exist. It's really freeing to notice it and allow it and acknowledge both sides. I love it when I am suddenly aware of a cosmic joke and this is a really good one! Xxx

Thank you Ally! Lately, my life has been quite busy and stressful and I've noticed that stress is what puts me in a state of reactivity. This practice reminds me how important it is to take on the role of the observer in such situations.

I really love the phrase “non judgmental receptivity.” I have been struggling with panic attacks and I am going to use trying to notice the witness as a way of taking me out of the panic cycle. Thank you, Ally #embodiedwisdomYTT

I am really enjoying learning to cultivate equanimity in my life. I have been working with my therapist on developing a "Concious Observer" that can help me to create a bit of distance between my immediate thoughts and automatic reaction. This has already proved useful in a few situations in my life. Thanks for a great practice!

I feel better ❤️‍🩹 my heart is that much further open. I think about the situation that was the opposite from not think about it. To thinking about it. Wow. What a twist. But my mind held its own. And I guess you would call it finding peace with the situation. That I did. Thank you 🙏🏼
