Finally I got ans to my issue, my car does come with sport steering paddle shift. Two years back I get the workshop to replace the multifunction button as the volume button spoilt, recently only I tried to use the paddle shift but it won’t work. Took out the airbag and then realized the multifunction connector is only 4 wire instead of 6 for paddle shift wheel. That’s when I realized they given me the wrong button. Worst is they not going to be responsible for it as it’s been 2 years they had replaced 😭. Due to lockdown periods and all can’t drive my car much to fiddle with the paddleshift. I guess I have to get the retrofit kit for my non-paddleshift multifunction button for them to work again. Thx for the contents m8.
Great upgrade, would recommend the Nelson Racing Billet paddles upgrade for even more fire 👍🏾

Question - after i retrofit them paddle shifters, can i perhaps get any of the modern paddles and change them? Will it work? Talking about them magnetic ones, or any just prettier looking ones? Thanks
I was wondering the same thing, thinking the plug and play ones off amazon for this same wheel will probably work. Going to order and see.

One question, the buttons on the paddle shift wheel should work with it... all this procedure of wiring inside the wheel is needed when the steering wheel buttons on the paddle shifter wheel were swapped at some point with buttons from a non paddle wheel right? I mean if you would buy an Oem paddle wheel (including buttons made specifically for paddles ) you won’t need the extra wiring inside the wheel?
I just installed mine but when I put it in sport it doesn’t say DS on the cluster but when I shift the paddles work, only thing is after about 10-15 seconds of not using the paddles the car switches back to normal drive mode…. Any idea how to fix?

I’m confused, why do you need the steering wheel kit, when the steering wheel with the paddle shifters was already functioning as a steering wheel with paddle shifters, so can’t you just change the complete steering wheel wiring from the paddle shifter wheel , to the non paddle shifter wheel ? Am I missing something ??
if your car does not have paddles from factory, you cannot put in a paddle shifting steering wheel it wont work, therefore you need the wiring harness to be able to use the paddles

hi i have a question i know you need the buttons from a sport steering wheel without shifters if you want them to work with a paddle shifter steering wheel but can’t i just take the buttons from my base model steering wheel non sport? any differences?

Bro, both steering wheel MFB plugs had no wires in 4&6..I bought a msport steering wheel with paddles and it has nothing in pins 4&6

tip: dont open air bag immediatly after turning of batterie you should however wait for 20 mins atleast before doing so

How long was the battery disconnected before you did the swap? As I have seen in other videos they waited an hour before they did the swap.

Is anyone having the same problem as me, when i plug the 3 way connection only the paddles work, when i do the oem connection the steering wheel and oem shiftronic weork but not the paddles, pretty sure i put green wire in pin 4 and orange wire in pin 2

I had the same question. Currently I have the CD/FM and airflow buttons with paddle shifters in my LCi E90. Can I make my paddle shifters work with the current configuration?
Another follow up question, in case if I do consider swapping with the rhombus and star button switch (Part number 9123289), will the rhombus and star switches work for an LCi?

Wait, did you do the retro fit into the non paddle harness just to show people? Because you coulda just swapped the buttons straight over instead of going through the wiring for

@@15Godrick yes! You can use a pre lci control, you just have to hard wire it like he shows in the video because the actual plugs on the back of the pre lci controls, do not go to anything, they are blanks. So you can manually wire them up and it works the same! Just gotta make sure you tap the up shift/down shift wires to the shifter wiring harness up into the slip ring behind the wheel and it will work! I retro fit paddles to a non paddle wheel by carving my shit out and hard wired it, works perfect!

Has to be a pre lci or dct paddle shift steering wheel. This kit wont work with the lci paddle shifters
All yellow sticker E90 air bags are recalled because they can grenade.

@@JonathanWeeks just retrofitted the lci paddle shifters today, they were a little complicated but ended up working perfectly the way it should
