''There is NO League Title race'' says our James & of course, he is COMPLETELY correct in that regard & of course I could say, but wouldn't, but I could say what took him so long, since I've been saying for months now that yet another domestic Treble was an absolute certainty, or should be & indeed another domestic Invincible season to emulate that of 2016-2017 should also be what we're ONLY celebrating in May 2025.....
That's great James, thank you. I love the stuff that I can see and will enjoy the rest when I get around to it. If you need to delete my membership and have me do the whole thing again then that's fine.
Apologies for a second comment however I’ve just thought it may be interesting to analyse what position Engels plays for Belgium as he looks like he doesn’t have a clear and distinct role in the Celtic midfield which is bound to affect his performances?
This is a good idea. From my little knowledge of his time at Augsburg, he generally played deeper there than he does with us. I’ve felt his performances post-Dortmund have been better as he’s played in a double-pivot with McGregor instead of playing further forward.
You’re right, they were very physical at Parkhead. I’d start with the same midfield again. McCowan and Bernardo are bit more sturdy. Bring on Engels and Hatate after Shinnie and co have been booked☘️😀
As the late, great Dr Martin Luther King Jnr might have put it if he were still around today '' So I am happy today, I'm not worried about anything, I'm not fearing any SPL Team, mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of another Invincible season.''
A combination of excellent play from Celtic and a comedy performance from Ross County. Let’s hope we can get something from Dinamo Zagreb which is looming.
Can I ask the team what the optimal tactical plan would be for the ten teams to play against the 2 biggest wage bills in the league and have the best chance of not losing or maybe winning their fair share? Any year, any circumstances any matchup, home, away or neutral. Also don't tell the 10 managers concerned about your findings.
The one question regarding Wednesday night’s team selection, against Aberdeen would we get more from McCowan coming of the bench , than some of our other players?
I said before the Ross County game, that the near COMPLETELY not happening on any level for £11 million Engels, was exacerbated by how so many of our support viewed the performances of the ''lowly'' £1 million, Celtic daft ever since a wee bairn McCowan when he gets a rare start & then he goes on to have the type of game that was the very last thing, on a personal level, that £11 million Engels NEEDED & oor current Manager too of course, since £11 million Engels is COMPLETELY oor current Manager's signing & so he NEEDS the £11 million Engels to be playing far better than he is & more consistently too, but for me & I suspect all the other McCowan fan boys, he should definitely start against the sheep worriers.
James has summed up my confirmation bias with Hatate. Once you think he can’t be bothered sometimes you think he’s like that all the time. Laura is right about the frustration he provokes in me.
If only it really were a case of the moody & sulky one ''can't be bothered sometimes'' because that's an affliction we all suffer from from time to time & in complete fairness to the moody & sulky one, who would be ''completely up for it'' week after week in a domestic context & remember ''context is everything'' as dear old Alan most rightly likes to frequently remind us & all because of the dross & the complete dross we face week after week, season after season in the SPL, but sadly it's far more serious than that, since moody & sulky Hatate hasn't wanted to be in Glasgow / Scotland for some considerable time now & our current Manager would have sold him long ago if the right bid had ever come in for the moody & sulky one.
Yes, yes. The Daizen goal I referenced was against Brugge, not Atalanta. THEY BOTH PLAY IN BLACK AND BLUE. GIVE A GIRL A BREAK. 😅 Ps - thanks all for listening!! 🍀
The Huddle Breakdown is the Celtic fan media M&S 🧐 / Carlsberg🍺 of Celtic fan media: It's not just fan media, if Alan & Juco made it, it's probably 🎶 the sumptuous creamy best 🍀fan media in the 🌎.🎶 😂 Controversial form first XI?: Schmeichel AJ CCV Trusty Valle Engels McCowan McGregor Kuhn Kyogo Maeda Subs: Sinasalo, Ralston, Scales, Taylor, *Bernardo, Hatate, Forrest*, Yang, *Idah* 7/8 outfielders (sorry Yang) wouldn't make you blink, and Sinasalo might be excellent, personally I have no idea. Need wing reinforcements and to sort left back contract situations/ buy in someone good. Imagine that plus a striker while getting rid of Welsh (might need him for the homegrown rule), Nawrocki, Holm, Palma and maybe Yang without losing any of that form match day squad. Nice. Maybe we could get 1 or 2 Scots and bin Welsh after all. Maybe KT (I think you'd need to keep Valle AND Taylor if you brought him in, considering his post Celtic injury history) and McKenna? With our game influencing manager and pool of talent, no one domestically really worries me. While we have had bigger stars since I started watching, in the Burns era, I don't think the floor has ever been this high in the squad. Even MON had a great XI then the bench and broader squad was a bit on the rubbish side. I think looking at the season so far, the biggest threat to our domestic season is a horrendous January window. And it'd have to be record setting as we have 19 players you'd trust so you'd not only have to not strengthen, you'd have to sell a ton of talent and in key positions, like I'm generally not superstitious but... no. HH
Moody & sulky Hatate's moodiness & sulkiness all started the second our current Manager walked back in the door at Lennoxtown, with moody & sulky Hatate already thinking what the hell am I still doing here & why hasn't Ange already signed me for Wee Spursy, or why haven't even that wee Brighton lot doon on the south coast, come to get me & as I said at the time our current Manager spotted all this moodiness & sulkiness straight away, I mean, how could you miss it, for goodness sake & then so demonstrably evidenced with our current Manager playing Turnbull ahead of the moody & sulky one & then all the injuries that followed & now in December 2024 we are where we are when it comes to the moody & sulky Hatate....
Great show, folks🍀
Great podcast. Subscribed to the substack. Would recommend!
Just settling down to listen and noticed 'Unruly' on your bookshelf Alan, currently enjoying the audiobook on my commute.
Worrying seeing James so positive 😂

My biggest worry going to Aberdeen is the risk of injury, some thugs in that team HAIL HAIL 🍀💚🍀
Your correct they pick up a lot of bookings, they'll put in a few nasty tackles early on in the game.
They'll give Nilsen his 5 free shots at our players then eventually book him in the 60th minute just before he's subbed off.

You’re one of the best Laura - I look forward to your hosted Breakdowns 👍
Sorry to be that guy but Daizen didn’t score against Atalanta (25:32) I assume you meant Brugge. Great pod as usual folks 🍀
Please see my comment elsewhere 🤣👍🏻

Hatate has been up & down, in & out of form for 18 monts now and its getting more than frustrating and i dont think he wants to be there any more
