Welcome aboard, better late than never & all that & you will have worked out already that The Huddle Breakdown's ''uniqueness & refreshingness'' is due in no small way to them resolutely & steadfastly refusing to be one dimensional like every other Celtic fanzine type podcast, with all their drivel & nonsense of give Brendan the money, it's all sitting there in the bank doing nothing, Sack the Board when it's not all going hunky - dory & then when we thump the dross & complete dross we face week after week, players then get overpraised & catapulted to a level that they're just not at or ever will be & so as I say, NONE of these two most silly & most erroneous extremes for The Huddle Breakdown & thank God for that.
On Calmac shooting, does this alter the behaviours of our opponents? I remember a few seasons where teams were sitting in against us and giving us comparably more space (because they knew more often than not we would try to work an intricate pass or "walk it into the net"). So if teams are conscious that CM or AE will shoot earlier then opp may be more likely to move out of position quicker to block, allowing us to play through them? Variation in play to create uncertainty?

Subscription query - Will be subscribing but I'm trying to decide between the standard one and founding member subscription. Erring toward the £60 but if you pay for a year on this one but then decide you want to upgrade, do you get your money back pro-rata either in cash or towards the upgraded subscription? As an idea/feedback - it might've been a plan to keep the chat on substack open for e.g. a month to deal with subscription queries once it was rolled out then stick daft questions like the above one or common ones on an FAQ.
George McCluskey is responsible for coaching Cal’s shooting style. Like a good golfing coach his shooting style has been modified to reduce power and replace with accuracy.
I have been moaning for years that our midfielders don't shoot as much from outside the box as they should and when they do it often nearly ends up on the top tier of the stand behind the goal. All our players should have daily shooting practice in training overseen by a dedicated coach. Maybe they do but if so we they need a new coach. Tbf, MacGregor seems to take more care when shooting by not getting under the ball and that shouldn't be too difficult for any highly-paid professional footballer to achieve?
On the eyeball test for me Trusty has looked like an upgrade since day 1 - he’s strong, has balance good in the air and distributes with confidence, what’s not to like - he’s settling in
Yes indeed George & Trusty is proving me wrong & particularly after that most stoic & most resolute of centre back performances alongside Scales in oor 0-0 draw with Atalanta & as I said at the time, this joint centre back performance of Trusty's & Scales' will rightly live long in the memory & so be one of the very first things to be talked aboot when this particular game gets a mention in the years to come & the huge positive is also that with Trusty, CCV & Scales, we have three centre backs all around 26/27 years of age & so ALL at an age universally recognised in the football world that they're at the start of their peak performance years.....
