The two scenes where he talked his bad leg were deleted because him running perfectly fine but talking about a bad leg would be a huge plot hole.
I wish they would have kept this, it shows how they got into the city as well as gives Gally more character development, showing how he's grown. Plus it's an awesome action scene

Newt's right....Gally was stung and half-mad when he shot Chuck and I am just reading the books and it said the people in Wicked MADE Chuck move in front of Thomas as part of the experiment when Gally shot his gun. They wanted to see how Thomas would react to losing someone he was REALLY close to. In this scene, he was perfectly sane and he saw Newt was in trouble and he pushed Thomas back and willingly went and saved him (and it looked like he threw his body over Newts as the train went over them....when it goes back to them after we see Tommy's reaction, they weren't off to the side....they were in the middle of the tracks. That's a hero in my book.
This scene redeemed Gally for me. I kind of forgave him when he saved them at the wall, but in this scene, he wasn't wearing a mask. He literally pushed Thomas back and threw himself over Newt to protect him from the train. That redeemed him.

Only broke his leg and Mihno finds him and takes him back to the glade ,then gets healed and stops being a runner cause his forever limp.
