    How much resin did you end up using on this build?

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      About 4 cans of the item listed in the description.

      So that's a 28.8 oz container. Not sure why Bondo doesn't give you a whole quart. I guess that means I need a gallon of resin.

    I’m lost on how the fiberglass gets attached to the wood.

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As you apply the resin to the fiberglass and wood it will become one piece. When the resin dries, it bonds with the wood and becomes a permanent bond. Does that help?

    I so needed this video!!!! How much fiberglass/resin/hardener would recommend be purchased? How many layers?

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We need up doing 4 layers , it doesn't hurt to go thicker. As far as the resin goes, I believe that we used 2 cans on each side of what I have linked. If you want to go with a gallon, it might be easier. Thanks for the comment 👍

      I'm not exactly sure what size you are looking for but the exact fiberglass we used is linked in the description. If the links do not work, please let me know.

      @@drchris311 I didn't pay attention to the cost at the time. Probably could have found something cheaper online.

    How many fiberglass clothes I need to buy?

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you are doing the same vehicle, I would buy at least 20 packs, and take back what you don't use, better to have more than not enough.

    By far the worst fiberglass job I have ever seen in my whole entire life, and I am sorry to tell you this, but it’s the truth. Bro, you did not need the plastic. All you had to do is spray some mold, epoxy cast remover over the tape, so that the fiberglass would come off the tape easily.

    • @ContractorsPOV
      @ContractorsPOV  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That's good to know. We did this quite a while ago and it was our very first one. We didn't know that mold epoxy cast remover even existed. Plus, as you can tell, it was done on the cheap anyway. It was more for the video experience that anything. If I ever do another one, I will know better, I appreciate the feedback.
