- Shearing against legends like Calum Shaw and Hamish Mitchell was absolutely amazing and I was just glad to get up on that stage and try to hold them off as long as I could.

ABOUT ME
I’m 32 years old and I’m a sheep farmer from Ayrshire in South West Scotland, which is why I have such a strong accent! I was born and raised on a sheep farm watching my dad who was the shepherd.
At 18 I went away from farming to work in the city (something I still do) and at 23 (2013) I decided I wanted to do something for some extra money so I went on a sheep shearing course. The hardest thing I’ll ever do was learning to shear sheep. [shudders thinking about it]
I shore whilst on my holidays from work for 2 years and then in 2015 my dad died so I decided to get my own sheep so I could continue working with sheep as it was something I loved doing. From there it escalated quickly from my first 4 sheep in my mum’s garden to now running around 850 breeding ewes.
I shore over 19,000 sheep this season in the UK and have my own shearing run which lets you see many different farms in the summer months.
A few years ago I bought myself a sheep pregnancy scanner and have been building up my run since then.
I watched a few farm vlogs on TH-cam and decided I could have a go and now here we are!

Daaaaang!!! That was stupendous. It would take most people 12+ minutes to get a hold of a sheep. Really well done Cammy and Lizzy both. Well done Jock for staying in place when the camera was recording.

Congrats all around, for the new baby and shearing. Got to say my favorite part of this video is when Jock is sitting on the grass picking up the wool pieces and sniffing them (rubbing them on his nose). I did that too as a young lass. Too cute.

Love the video! As usual I was cheering out loud for both of you. Cammy, I noticed a big difference between you and Callum and Hamish. You were being much more gentle with the hoggs. Which is awesome! You deserve extra points for that. Congrats again on the baby!

Cammy, I don’t know if you ever do this but going back to watch older vlogs and to see how much proficiency you’ve gained in every aspect of your shepherding career is amazing. Congrats to Lizzie! Pity the first ewe you got gave you a bit of hassle you would have been closer.
Cammy, your first sheep was more of a kicker than the other 2, so I think you did excellent in keeping up with the others. 40 seconds is nothing to sneeze at--you were smokin' it!

Those shearing competitions are intense! For a bit I thought you might catch up... then you had sheep number 10. That one kicked and wiggled right out of the gate.
You both were fantastic! Congratulations! 🥰🐑❤️Watching you shear that last sheep took me back to 7th grade when my track coach convinced me to run the mile event because no one else on our team would do it. I had never run it in competition before. I had already run the half mile and was exhausted. The other runners were older and way more experienced. I kept pace with them for awhile, but they pulled away. I came in 3rd place. I also came in last. 😂 It was hard to keep going knowing that “my competition” had already crossed the finish line. That was the longest 100 yards I ever ran, but I did get a third place ribbon! 😂😂

Lizzy is such a ‘stoer wijf’, as we say in Dutch. Unbelievable. And so cute how little Jock is sniff testing the wool. Such a smart little sheep farmer!

Amazing watching those 15 sheep each shearing, if I looked away from Cammie, (sorry Cammie) and looked between the two other shearer’s, I could see the stroke for stroke competition going on between them, fantastic. Like someone else said Cammie, well done against those two.

As an X shearer I feel nervous every blow. Not sure why, just everything is so familiar when I was in shows or racing in the shed on a daily bases.
Well shorn mate, you closed up on them on sheep 6-8 , thought you were going to get them. Congratz
when you shear vs two world champions, that makes you in the same class. that first sheep gave you a handful of problems and set you back, so very well done. large part is skill and part is jut luck of ornery sheep you get. So another contest with same shearers and different ornery sheep could yield different results. Of course if they had a sheep look-alike contest, Cammy would always win.

You should be well chuffed with that shear to be in a final with shearing royalty and pull off one of your best competitions yet well done. I could see you're hand starting to cramp on 13 but you kept the job clean. Lizzy was amazing she is far better shearer than she gives herself credit for. I had the same problem I couldn't let go in the final until Wallace boyd took me to the side at the Welsh and told me you have the work done to get to the final now go blow into them and enjoy the final it worked. We'll done both of you
