Thanks for the video. They try to scare you from working on your own bike so you can get ripped off at a shop that don't care about your bike. 100% Agree if you can wrench then the harley world isn't too different.
You never know how many miles you will get out of the tensioners. My original ones were replaced at 40,000 miles they were half wore out. The second set was put in at 100,000 miles. The third set was put in at 113000 miles. Why the third-set wore out so quick I have no idea. When replacing the original at 40,000 miles I should have put the hydraulic tensioners in. I did not. Sometimes hindsight is better than foresight. Cylinders, Pistons Rings, heads are all original at 117,000 Mi. Does not smoke or use oil, it runs good. Good luck with your bike, ride safe.
I'm getting ready to attack this same project on my 04 fatboy first I gotta get the tools that's needed to do the job and I think I'll be set. I'll just take my time step-by-step. I should be able to accomplish this..
Does STL mean you are in the St Louis area? I just picked up a clean 03 WG with 20k miles on it. Gonna take a look at the tensioners. If love to know if a local independent shop to call on if I want to replace with OEM or CYCO.
The bearings for your cams are not Timken bearings. The upgrade for the stock cam bearings are Torrington bearings. Timken bearings are on the sprocket end of the crank. That bike doesn't have Timken bearings on the crank, it has roller bearings.

I've heard that if you do a lit of highway miles they last longer. I'm guessing less rpm

If you buy the tools on eBay they're only like $60

I'm located in the metro east. If you message me on Facebook @stl nik I can quote you replacement. My turn around is generally within 7-10 days
I didn't notice you finding TDC before you removed the rockers. Is it not necessary? Thank you
I just didn't show it.
Thanks for the video.
How many miles and what year is this bike?
I can’t seem to find any retaining clip pliers small enough for the ones on the tensioner shaft. Can you tell me what I can get ?
All my snap ring pliers are Snap On
Excellent video 👌🏻
Thanks for watching
yea I still couldn't work on it with a manual lol. Me's is not smart.
Lies and propaganda
Yea I got 53k on my 02 ultra and I’m starting to hear a rattle in there

The bearings I installed are Timken. I cam dig the boxes out of the trash if you'd like
Timken is a brand of bearing. You're most likely thinking of tapered bearings that people refer to as a "timken" bearing
What was the mileage on the Bike.
27k

You have a number I'm in Missouri as well
This would have been so helpful if your video quality was good enough to see🤦♂️ smh
You fast-forward through the line aligning the timing Mark's that's the most important part waste of time
I dont make how to's. If you want a how to, go buy a service manual
Fuggin’ painful to watch, bro. You need to focus your camera.
Then go make your own shit, but we both know you won't.
