We did it! We finally made your delicious strawberry 🍓 jam! Yes ma'am, you were right here with me. I had your video playing to help me work through my fears. It felt like I had a friend by my side. I have watched hundreds of cooking and canning videos. You are the only one who wears a head covering to keep your hair out of your food. I really appreciate that about you! Not to mention all your delicious recipes! Thank you!
I used to scoff at my kids for watching TH-cam videos other kids just playing with toys. Then, I realized I’ve watched like 20 of your canning videos this week and I feel like such a hypocrite. 🤦♀️ I love your videos- super motivating and instructional. You have an awesome attitude. I can’t wait to get my canning equipment so I can get started!
I'm so glad I'm not the only one! I'm addicted to watching all the gardeners so addicted that we close on our home July 20th with 1.19 acres I'm happy for the TH-cam
I really enjoy your channel. You are so good at canning and it is refreshing to see someone who is knowledgeable teaching others. I have been canning for a while now, I had to learn for myself, this channel and others like it would have been great back in my day... lol I just enjoy listening to you and watching you. You are inspirational. I usually watch you on my tv and it does not allow comments, so I have to pull out my laptop every now and then just to say how much I enjoy watching you and your family. We need more families like yours in this world. May God Bless you and yours.
I love this lady! She is hilariously funny to watch! Entertaining AND educational! I've learned so much and want to start canning now! I love how her dog always barks in every video and she rolls her eyes! And did you see the look at the very end when she one of the cans sealed and made the popping sound. LOL! Great videos!!!!!!
I just love watching you. You're my kind of people. You make me laugh. You're my "go to" for canning. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I'm 75 and just now got around to learning to can. Never too late to learn. hahaha

frugal tip for you if you would like to save on your pectin: When you peel and core your apples you can use those scraps to make your own pectin! liquid pectin can be canned as well and used in place of the expensive stuff at the store and Crabapples are really high in pectin! :) I love your videos!

Your canning videos are the only ones that seem to resonate with me & make me believe I can do this. I think it's your down to earth teaching style.. like I'm working in the kitchen with family. Others always seem to have an element of "this is my fake, on camera personality" whereas you come across as truly genuine, the personality we see is exactly who you are & that's so appreciated and valued. Never change & keep up the great content! 👍
I just found you today. I watched pineapple jam, freezing eggs, pickling eggs and now strawberry jam you are inspiring me to make jam, and do the eggs both ways
Thanks Mrs. Homestead Heart! I just canned 3 pounds of strawberry jam along with you in this video and this jam is SO DELICIOUS! It honestly makes me wonder why I didn’t start canning sooner and why do I buy jelly from the store! This is FIRE!!!!🔥🔥🔥. Thank you again for this teaching channel and May God continue to bless you and your family!
Your video was just wonderful. Straightforward. Clear. Not the underlying self promotion theatrics of most all TH-cam videos. I will actually use this demonstration .Thank you.
I never would have thought to put in apples in place of the pectin. I am definitely going to try this in my next batch this weekend. Thanks for sharing. I love your upbeat spirit!

Just come across your site and love you videos. First one I seen was the one on canning butter. So cool. I am now retired so I do not do much canning. I am now alone and children grown, but still love to watch people like you cook and to learn new things. Never to old to learn new things. I am now 70yrs. Thanks for all your wonderful advice and smiles you give in your video's . Awesome job telling young cooks ON HOW TO DO IT EASILY, and don't be afraid to try it. Have to be ready to do it in a thrifty way. I use to can lots of stuff ..even potatoes. Thanks from.Bonnie in Michigan. Have a good day and keep smiling and teaching us all how to make good foods. 😊😎👍.
Sis I've said it before, and now again. I truly appreciate, how you keep it real. No, editing out learning.. Or what some may call a mistake. To me, these are lessons learned. I think I've missed the pineapple video. I'll check. Much Respect. Peace always.
I really appreciate when you forget a step, realize it and go back. This happens to even someone with your experience. We can't skip steps to keep it safe.
That last "Ping" at the end was the best, so perfectly on time! I played it about 3 times also to see your reaction...so funny! 😆 Thank you Mrs. H for a very easy to follow, well explained video. I made 12 jars right along with you. You are a true teacher gifted by God and using your gift. Blessings to you and Mr. H.👍🏼🙏🏽

Glad to see I'm not the only one that forgets to de-bubble. I've had to reopen the jars too just to de-bubble. Something so important should be easy to remember....nope! lol Can't wait to try this strawberry jam recipe.
So happy to have stumbled onto your channel…total blessing! I have been making mango jam for over 20 yrs…because we have 2 trees. I wanted to share that this yr I bought a new Ball jar lifter from the Walmart canning section and girl it is a game changer. It is super sturdy and has thick rubber on both ends. Treat yo self & get one. Watching you reminded me about the bubble remover. Also I have never used the vinegar to wipe down…I just wipe with a damp paper towel. You had so many good tips & fool proof advice. Really enjoyed watching you…now I have to go & binge watch your videos. Blessings
Good morning! Yes! Sis Heart❤ "GO TO WORK!!!"😄 Multitasking...I love strawberries 😍🍓🍓🍓 And your pectin makes sooo much sense!!! Thank you for continuing to build confidence in us newbies!!! I'm telling everyone about you!!! Stay awesome! Blessings to you, Mr. H and your family🙏🏽
I love ❤️ watching Mrs. Homestead Heart ❤️ and Leadfarmer73, and family grow network! Y’all are such and inspiration for me to obtain my very own homestead! 🤗
Delicious strawberry jam. You are rocking water bathing and canning at the same time. Thanks for the tip with the apples. Thanks for Sharing love your videos
I love you too pieces I have learned so much from you I was always scared to can and now I am thanks to you I would love to see where you keep everything you can love you girl and thanks again much love from west virginia
I absolutely love your personality. You and your husband are so great together. Mr. H. reminds me so much of my father when he was alive. My dad loved my mother and loved working his land he even had popcorn ears. I enjoy watching ya'll so much. I have back trouble and cannot move much right now. I have been watching your channel nonstop since I found it several weeks ago. I am one of those who also lean into the t.v. when you say look at this, or to look into a pot, or to see where the dogs are going. You are so personable. I have learned so much. Makes me want to get some land and start a homestead. Maybe after my surgery. Thank ya'll so much.
Sweet honey my husband and I are finishing up a batch of strawberry jam right now. It looks beautiful and the smell is heavenly. We also canned your ground turkey thus morning also. We absolutely love your videos... there such a great inspiration. Although we've never canned meat. Later today were going to can chicken thighs and legs. Yes we're newbies and like you we're loving it! Thanks for being such a joy to listen to.🥰
I would like to echo what people have said. I love watching your videos and watching your attitude as you just keep on keeping on.You have a big hand in getting my own attitude ready for the day. I'm so honored just to have found such a down to earth and knowledgeable person. I don't know how you wrap your head around how much you have to do everyday. I only have 10 chickens, one dog, and a container garden.....and I am exhausted !!!! LOL, Of course, I'm 71 and handicapped but dang, I'm still 19 yrs old in my mind! LOL (on another subject) Someone gave me 3 bags of grapes (those plastic hand carry ones found in the supermarket), My hubby and I cannot eat all of these before they go bad, but I can't find a good recipe to make grape jam. (one place advised to peel each one and de-seed each. these are red seedless grapes and I'm NOT going to sit and peel everyone of these! Any advice from anyone?
Use a food mill to smash the grapes. It will help you get the grape pulp without having to individually peel each grape. Then follow this video and make grape jam. Or make a small cut x in the bottom of each grape. Make a simply syrup with sugar and water and fill 8oz to 16 oz jars with the grapes and cover with the syrup. Put on lids and rings and water bath can the jars of grapes for 25 minutes.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge, and yourself with us all! I never leave comments online, but I just had to tell you how wonderful it is to learn from you, and what a blessing it is to watch your videos. Thank you sister in Christ for all you do! Keep being your wonderful self❤️
Aw, you trying to get to the end of the apple peel without it breaking .. brought back a memory of doing that with my mom and sisters as a child. Sweet stuff. Thanks for that.❤
This gal is the real deal. LOVE her life on the farm and how she shares her lifestyle. Great tips and insight. I am my Grandmother Louise's granddaughter and she taught me so much of the same and I try to live the farm life and preserve everything I grow. Mrs. Homestead is teaching me her little tips... I get to add to what I already know. I am never too old to learn. THANK YOU!!
Both of my kids are in their 40's but I found that the baby spoons that I used when I was doing the feeding (before they started feeding themselves) are the perfect size to core a strawberry! LOL
As someone who has been a late stater in canning I appreciate your showing n giving us hints.I only barely remember my grandma at a very young age doing some of this. I remember her using the rattle pop tops n she used wax on top of jelly’s etc. I’ve been using freezer but I need to cut back on energy use. I saw a lil bit of your planting tips. If you can find time in your busy life can you do more on those type of things.I don’t have the physical abilities since I was hurt more do I live where I can do all I want in my yard for planting like you do. I wish I could have some chickens like you do. I remember gathering eggs for my grandma.Hers had a house n closed in area but they were let out certain times. Whenever they had scraps she would call them n they barreled at her for the goodies. Hers weren’t as noisy as yours get sometimes but I loved those fresh eggs. I enjoy you very much. Ty n God bless ✨
Hope you resolved your 'snakes in the hen house' problem. snakes love eggs. Always heard that cedar granules sprinkled around the hen house will discourage them. The oils irritate a snakes skin. Check with your county ag office for sure...Love love love your canning videos. Warms an old granny's heart to see a young person embracing the homestead lifestyle! Thanks to you both for all you do!
This came out amazing! When our blueberries 🫐 come back in season at our local blueberry farms I'm going to make tons of blueberry jam too! I'm in NC Florida and we have many, many blueberry and strawberry farms (we're not just citrus crops). At the strawberry festival last week I picked up a whole flat of big red, ripe, juicy strawberries for $10! You're a Godsend 🤗❤
Loved when you were peeling the apple. When we were little and spending the night with my grandma, she would peel apples for us to snack on. It was always a challenge to see if she could peel the whole apple and not break the peel. Funny what you remember from childhood. Love your channel! Thank you for sharing.
Just made my first jam along with you! I halved the recipe...mostly because we ate a lot of the strawberries before I ever got my canner out. So excited for these! Those little pings are precious to my heart. THANK YOU FOR BEING YOURSELF!
I am so glad I found you here on TH-cam! You are such a joy to watch as you teach us the ins and outs of canning. I've owned both a pressure canner and a water bath canner for several years now but have never used them for fear of screwing up. After watching you I think I'm ready to give it a go! Thank you for making me laugh and smile, and thanks so much for posting these very informative videos. May God bless you and keep you.
I tried this recipe and it turned out amazing. But I canned with my instant pot that's all I had. I found out that I could can with my instapot so I tried it. Everything turned out amazing!
Instant Pot now has a canning button on Instant Pot Canner. You can do 4 pints or 5 half pints. No quarts. This is what I've learned on this summer. Now I am about to use a 23 qt Presto pressure canner for the first time. I'm going to do the water bath feature first...I'm nervous!
Made 13 jars of this wonderful stuff today! Thank you Mrs H. I love your channel and you for sharing your skills. Red potatoes are happening this week (per your instructions)❤️
I love watching and listening to you! It takes me back home to Louisiana. I live in Indiana now and it is so good to listen to the southern way of talking. I love how real you are. From one sister to another. Blessings.
I agree wth you Edward Canada, I love this lady too. Her personality really captures your attention and holds it. I am learning so much from her, because I am a "green" newby in gardening.
OUTSTANDING VIDEO, Mrs. Homestead Heart!! Not only are you skilled & never seem to tire, you're a true inspiration to your viewers, especially me! And you always make me laugh with your outgoing personality & antics in your kitchen.
Was watching you carrot video from 6 months ago and this one popped up. I'm so glad I watched this! I adore your videos. I've learned so much from you especially organic gardening 😊. May God Bless you and Mr H.
You just make me smile everytime I watch your videos. Reminds me of my up.bringing with out all the mean old lady crap lmao. You make me laugh thanks so much for your channel dont ever stop. Actually you need to be on food network. Yes I send that prayer up.for you and your family.
I just did my strawberry jam using this video! Absolutely delicious. I had to boil it for 20 minutes as I’m in 6,500 fts. We love your videos and try most of the canning recipes. Currently having the best garden we have had in 5 years. Now, we just need to learn how to preserve it...😅
You are the bestest! I followed your video and instructions and made the strawberry jam. My mom of 83, my great niece and I finished 1/5 of the jars in a week;). Thank you so much!!!
Pardon for being off topic, but I wanted to thank you for saving my girls. I was scrolling to get to the bottom of your videos to see when you first started the farm and stumbled across one about chickens dying - just lost two from same thing. I was at the feed store when it open and have started treating for - coccidiosis - so THANK YOU!
My Nanna used to make strawberry jam this way! Canning was a skill I wish she had been able to teach me. Her and my papa put up lots of food from their huge garden. Sadly I was like most to busy in life to take time to appreciate the love and lessons that they offered. So thank you for showing me the way!! BTW my pug loves apples too and would sit all beady and buggy eyed the minute I pull out an apple. 🐣🐤🐥
Mrs H you motivate me so many way I feel I was lead to your channel you are the true definition of A Virtuous Woman I pray everyday that God is molding me to become one and to utilize my many talents as well many blessings to you and your Kingdom Family...❤️🙏
Y'all are my new favorite TH-cam channel. I am making blackberry jelly today (seedless). Wish I had done so much more gardening and canning when I was younger. Y'all both are an inspiration to me. Oh yeah. I pick all my own blackberries along the horse pasture fence across the road from my home. They are wild and no one else picks them. Keep up the good work. Peace and Blessings (and Love) to you both.
Love the new video was just watching with the family when you mentioned squash bugs I found a couple of things that might help you out maybe ,"can't hurt at the worst." When you pull up your plants leave a couple and let the bugs settle on them then pour scalding water on the plants. It also appears we have a natural parasite trichopoda pennipes that is found in most of the USA you probably have a few already if you'll plant dill it provides pollen for the adult flies to feed on. They lay their eggs on the squash bugs I'm not sure where you're from exactly ,"I'd guess GA from the shirts :) " but in TN we say breed like flies LOL! You can also plant several companion plants in your squash to repel them like nasturtium & marigolds nasturtiums will like being under the squash leaves & they'll last a bit longer with some shade. The flowers taste like radish to me & are very good with cream cheese. I know this is about jelly I just started looking when you mentioned your problem & I've been into natural ways for a long time. There are some other things you can do to like neem oil sprays or diatomaceous earth but not much beats natural predators like little guided missiles LOL! Not related to Squash bugs but if you'll plant Spiraea thunbergii provided you can grow it ,"it's good to zone 8a at the warmest" but it blooms super early usually in Feb or early March in Tennessee it attracts tons of aphids & lady bugs being one of the first things to sprout & bloom. I've used it for aphid control for years since there'll be lots of little hungry lady bugs in your garden about the time the aphids start going.
My first time making jam. Made this today with 1lb tub of strawberries (yielded almost a pint) as my test batch and had your video playing (thanks for being in the kitchen with me✋🏾).. I did use pectin and did not water bath can since I'm going to have my family taste test in the morning (I don't see this pint lasting through the week). If it's a hit I'll be water bath canning and storing it my next batches. Bye bye Smuckers🤞🏾🤣.
I just made this jam this morning. Took the jars out of the canner and they instantly started pinging!!! You are such a beautiful woman! Thank you so much for all of your videos. I just bought a pressure canner the other day and can’t wait to break it in! Blessings from Georgia! ❤️😊

Mrs. Heart, you are an excellent, kind, calm and soothing teacher. You make it very clear. I wish 28 years ago you were in my kitchen to teach me.
Mrs Homestead, were you ever an educational teacher? If not, you would've been a great one.
I know! She reminds me of my Home Economics teacher in high school! So much fun and so kn,owledgeable!

I love watching you cook and can in your kitchen. I’m learning so much from you, since I’ve never cooked but I’m learning now from you. Thank you and Mr H for all your helpful videos. Keep up the great work you are doing. God bless you both and your family.!! 😊
I know that is a year old but love your simplicity and heart felled teaching love you sister
I just used all my app!as to make Apple butter...made the house smell like Christmas...
I loved apple butter growing up❣
I love strawberry jam , I only mash my strawberries a bit because I love the whole strawberry in my jam. I love your recipe . God Bless
Glad to see I'm not the only one that forgets to de-bubble. I've had to reopen the jars too just to de-bubble. Something so important should be easy to remember....nope! lol Can't wait to try this strawberry jam recipe.
I canned years ago and did not know about debubbling!
Cyndi Dame Lay your debubbling stick over the top of the lid pot so it’ll remind you to debubble before you use your magnet to get your lids.
I just can it with the bubbles. My favorite part!
I just discovered your channel the other day and it's the bomb...I have watched vid after vid...great STUFF!
I love ❤️ watching Mrs. Homestead Heart ❤️ and Leadfarmer73, and family grow network! Y’all are such and inspiration for me to obtain my very own homestead! 🤗
My top three as well. Ive learned so much from each channel. Mrs. H got me inspired to pressure can. Now I'm ready to start water bathing.
Thank you, Thank you! I am a 62 year old nana and made your delicious jam! Gods Blessings and Peace to you and Mr. H! 🩷💜
I LOVE watching you cook! Your instruction is thorough and very clear. You are a fabulous teacher!

Thanks for being such a joy to listen to.🥰
I am crying right now just looking at your strawberries! I want beautiful strawberries too!!!!
I’m so so glad you show each and EVERY step! It is so important to us NEW canners!❤️❤️❤️🥰👏👏👏
Definitely a recipe I'm going to try. I love you show the whole process because it helps to know how it will go.
I was just looking to buy an All American caner, they're sold out. Guess i have to buy the cheaper wal mart one.
THANK YOU!!
Hi Mrs Homestead Heart, you can use a drinking straw to decore your strawberries. (Bottom to the top) Just a little tip I learned😊
Yep that's how I do it! Make sure you use a sturdy straw!! Blessings ~Sidney
That's how I do it too. Works great!!
Thank you for that reminder. I am getting everything ready to make this yummy looking jam.
Both of my kids are in their 40's but I found that the baby spoons that I used when I was doing the feeding (before they started feeding themselves) are the perfect size to core a strawberry! LOL
Same with cherries and pits
God bless you Mrs. H! You have truly inspired me to start putting up food for my family.
You should be on HGTV you are awesome people.
YUMMY! LOVE WATCHING YOUR VIDEOS
"You gotta go to work on Myra's feet!" I chuckled so loud as I knew where that came from ahahahah lol!!!
You are wonderful to watch. I would love to be right in your kitchen helping you. Thank you.
I tried this recipe and it turned out amazing. But I canned with my instant pot that's all I had. I found out that I could can with my instapot so I tried it. Everything turned out amazing!
What setting did you use?
Instant Pot now has a canning button on Instant Pot Canner. You can do 4 pints or 5 half pints. No quarts. This is what I've learned on this summer. Now I am about to use a 23 qt Presto pressure canner for the first time. I'm going to do the water bath feature first...I'm nervous!
Made 13 jars of this wonderful stuff today! Thank you Mrs H. I love your channel and you for sharing your skills. Red potatoes are happening this week (per your instructions)❤️
Love your show. It's full of knowledge, practical, useful and fun all at the same time.
Thank you so much! My mom and I are starting with water bath canning. This came just in time!
Was watching you carrot video from 6 months ago and this one popped up. I'm so glad I watched this! I adore your videos. I've learned so much from you especially organic gardening 😊. May God Bless you and Mr H.
You can also plant some of those tops! They are loaded with seeds!
My mom of 83, my great niece and I
finished 1/5 of the jars in a week;).
Thank you Mrs Homestead i love your videos and you are so sweet and hardworking...you are blessed
Perfect timing on that seal sound at the end LOL. I never though about making it without Pectin. You never you cease to amaze me!
Watching LeadFarmer73 follow your Jam recipes was priceless... he's funny too
"A BIG THANK YOU "....for making it look so easy..
Mrs H you motivate me so many way I feel I was lead to your channel you are the true definition of A Virtuous Woman I pray everyday that God is molding me to become one and to utilize my many talents as well many blessings to you and your Kingdom Family...❤️🙏
Did some canning for the first time today. This was one of the 3 Homestead Heart jelly/jams that I did. All 3 came out great!!
Love this and can’t wait to try! You make it look so easy.
I just love listening to can. I've learned alot from you. You have such a kind heart ❤ I'm watching you from Kentucky. ❤
I so love you guys. Because of you I started my vegetable garden. Thank you and God bless.
So happy I came across your channel.. I have learned SO MUCH! Thank you!
You are so down to earth...you bring joy to our lives. Love your videos. Keep up the good work. Thank you for teaching us.
