This was a game changer for me on tf. Changed my playstyle completely, i’m playing way slower, waiting for obvious choices with my ult instead of forcing my team into awkward situations. And i went from 45% winrate on the champ last season i played it to 65% this season. And i’m not even kidding
I needed this video man. I've been playing league for nearly 9 years and have constantly switched roles and champions, started in the jungle, then ADC, then mid, back to the jungle, then support for a while, and now back to mid. I have a habit of popping off and going on huge winstreaks when I first pick up a champion, but that obviously doesn't last and I feel like I've plateau'd after losing 4-5 games in a row which angers the piss out of me, especially after going on such long streaks. I've never gotten out of gold and I feel like I don't improve no matter how hard I try. TF is my favorite champion in the game, and that's prevented me from playing him because I'm afraid of going through the same process and end up dropping him a month or two down the line. Hopefully this time will be different.
I understand how frustrating that may feel. My advice for you mate, is to just realize that achieving anything great takes time and hard work. If you have a goal of getting good on a specific champ or getting to a specific elo, there WILL be painful experiences. You have to keep at it and break it down into small bite size goals so you can see your improvement. Who cares about winning / losing when you are more focused on the incremental improvement of your gameplay. Hopefully this vid helps~!
I love this vid bro I hate when I see “how to carry low elo” vids and they get an “accidental” first blood like 30 seconds in, or just they get a super lucky double kill that totally invalidates the game. Cuz of course it’ll be super easy to carry after that.
dude i dont even play TF but you explain so well, that you kinda make me want to try him. great guide and explanations about tempo, CSing and map awareness bro. Subscribed
There's actually a stat on Leagueofgraphs, that shows the average rank of respective champion mains, and TF is actually the highest ranked champion with like Gold 1 or smth, so you definitely have a point about TF being good in low elo. Great video !
Thanks to this video, I now have a 90% win rate with TF! Not joking, not exaggerating! Thanks to you, Coach Curtis, and your twisted fate videos! I don't expect that 90% win rate to last long after climbing, but for now, climbing with TF in low elo is so easy it's hilarious. NO ONE watches the map. EVERYONE overextends. And when late game comes around, noobs don't know what to do, they just charge down mid lane as though it's ARAM over and over again and it's so incredibly easy to just gold card your way to victory slaughtering the enemy team one at a time. It's just like you said in this video, there are so many opportunities in low elo. People just walk right into gold cards like they're braindead, and having superior map awareness is EVERYTHING, especially with TF. Thank you, Coach Curtis!
Hey man I haven’t discovered your account up until this week. I subscribed immediately. My sincere compliments, you manage to (thoroughly) explain things at both macro and micro level in such an approachable fashion that I cannot say otherwise than that I hope to see more of you. I haven’t enjoyed and haven’t learned this much in a coaching vod this much in a long time.
Its just awesome how you explain things that no one explains, your moves, backs and all, you explain why you do that no matter how obvious it is. This kind of guides really help low elo players. Thanks so much
I found out your channel today...i was looking for someone like u. I'm playing League from 2013 and this is i think the best midlane content i've ever seen. Continue this!
bro you just awosme, your topics that you choose to talk about it so perfecetly what we need(im gold-plat EU)+how you explain and going down to details its just amazing ty so much!
I have been watching many videos recently to improve both gameplay and Tf and I think yours has been the easiest to understand and comprehend. I feel am learning a lot. Thanks
great vid. Can't tell you how many times I've been either winning or even with my laner only for the other lanes to feed their face off and I haven't been able to carry. Gonna check out the rest of your stuff!
Just found your channel man and I must say this is some of the best advice I've ever seen on any channel. You really take the time to break down your decision making and offer clear advice. Really picked up some great tips from you today, many thanks.
Thanks for this guide man! Its sooo good to help us to understand better not just tf but also the game itself. Btw thanks for doing this guide with one of the champs I told you to give us some advice, I think this is a really hard match up for tf but you made it look so easy man! Thanks a lot
Its been so long since a strugled to play tf correctly since he is my favorite champion along with lucian, then I found this and I felt clearly the difference, from all the tf guide, yours clearly does oustand, wich so much details, big up bro.
2:56 I was afraid of using Spellbook at one point, I thought I'd fk up using my spells, also I thought it wasn't so powerful. Then I used it once with Orianna, it wasn't so hard to keep track of the changes and I realized I didn't understand how Spellbook actually worked: I thought Spellbook replaced my spell but my original spells didn't cooldown too... When I fking learned that my initially chosen Spell's cooldowns also were progressing when they were replaced too, I just fking fell in love with Spellbook. It's such a powerful and versatile Keystone, for example: you basically use your Flash, then you replace it with Ghost, meanwhile your Flash still going down in CD, and you may have it up again after you use the Ghost... I think there's just a 10s CD between using Ghost and getting your Flash to use it again (may be out of combat too, not sure), so no triple Spell in a single combat tho.
I know right! How strong is that function of unsealed spellbook! It's so underrated. Once you realize how versatile it is, it can be a complete game changer
Very good Video, also that you answer every fucing comment, shows how you love your Job and Community. I hope you get a lot of Subscriber, you deserve it dude! :)
All this content for free on TH-cam i hope no coaching agent or something takes that and sells it for money or as online courses or something very great content man comparing to anything out there thx for all the education
Hi Coach! Been watching your vids for a while. Though I play Wild Rift and not League PC, you're fundamentals still applies and helped me play better. I'm a TF main and after watching this video, I applied it to my next game and was astonished by the results! We are losing both sidelane but I'm far ahead in my lane that whenever I'm present in team fights, we would win it. We ended up winning the game even though we are behind in the early game. Thank you so much for you vids! They really help! 😁😁😁😁
your videos on tf are really wanting me to get into playing him because i always feel like i can never impact the game but tf seems like he can really control the map
Hey there,im lucky that I discovered your channel,I have learned a lot on TF,(yet I need to learn more).Okey so,as you mentioned above unleash spellbook is the best choice in low elo as well as in high. But mostly I prefer (and most low elo players) arcane comet and electorice on melee champs, maybe because I dont have enough knowledge on how to use unleash spellbook properly,It would be fascinating if you make a video in spellbook and why it's more realible. Thanks in advance.
Hey mate thanks for watching ! I actually still prefer unsealed spellbook, I use unsealed book in my other 2 TF videos on my channel. I try and explain why I love them so love and how to use it within those videos. Let me know if those videos help you first :)
I got into this channel cuz i love tf and damn u with tf is amazing and u know ur mistakes like instantly cuz for me it takes time for me to know why i died
This is such a great video for low ELO players, it's all stuff that I know is important, however is so easy to forget and take for granted. And here you are literally carrying games by being a farm bot :D
Pretty interesting. My instinct would have been to go for desperation plays to try and get my team back in this game, so it's cool to see you did the opposite.
At 16:00 his w did so little damage because you were standing so far back he tried to w-q-e. Standing that far back prevented him from Q-W-E. Nothing proc’d his Q since he missed his E, also making him unable to proc electrocute, making him do next to no damage.
Thank you again for dedicating your time towards Twisted Fate. I have a question for you though. Do you think Unsealed Spellbook is still viable like comet in low elo? I really love using it. I personally am not a fan of comet but if it provides more advantages than spellbook at the lower elo then I will have to learn it.
I think unsealed spellbook is still the best rune page on twisted fate personally, and it works great in low elo too. The reason I used comet for this video is because people have said to me a lot that they don't like spellbook so I thought I'd show some gameplay without it
brow honestly, i have a such good mechanic with tf, but i never be able to carry my team, but after i see you videos and tips about macro play browww I'm on insane win streak up to the sky, I have so much to learn but realy start to think macro its the way to up mmr
Its uncanny how you do this. Yesterday I was thinking to myself that I wanted to learn TF and really try to learn how to impact macro and today there's a TF video.
Thanks for tuning in Steven! I don't play Lucian mid too much, but I do think it's decent as a counter pick to low range matchups and some immobile mages. But it doesn't leave too much room for error
Again, aslong as you are weighing up the trade offs and benefits of actually ulting top then it is fine. If I genuinely thought that getting Ornn ahead would be favourable for the game and actually allow us to win the game then I'd do it, but as a general overarching principle, getting bot ahead is a lot more effective. And sometimes if you gank a tank vs tank lane, even if you get a kill for the maokai it wont really change the lane too much anyway.
I personally think people just try too hard in low elo, not being certain you can carry a game and relying on your team to have a good performance to keep their mental up is a nice thing to do, but as you see here, its the same as playing jungle, dont gank losing lanes, you are throwing yourself off trying to be proactive but if a lane happens to lose on its own its a low chance they start winning even if you commit half of your gameplay to them, nice video man, I picked up tf again lately after not playing him for multiple seasons and the first games went horribly wrong, cause I didnt stick to my gameplan and forced myself to make plays, now its lookin better, OH and before I forget, would you check out electrocute in low elo and tell us about your thoughts? cause I heard apdo got great success with it and I think in certain matchups the burst feels handier than comet, cheers mate
Thanks for tuning in Peifer. I also tried a lot of electrocute with ignite on this account with TF, and I found that it was fine in melee matchups, but overall comet was more reliable . Sometimes I feel when I play electro TF that I'm forced to take very aggressive trades and get within the enemys range and not play slow enough. It does still work just a little more risky. + I kind of prefer the sorcery tree over domination tree
Can you do an updated version of this for season 13? I'm a gold 4 Neeko OTP, but I've been spamming games on a smurf in an effort to try to get my old otp back in my champion pool (Twisted Fate). And I get camped quite often, even if I'm not overextended (my tf only smurf is currently in silver and I can't get out with tf lol) Any chance you could do a video on how to handle when people do know how to punish you as TF?
A little question, in your old video about TF, you mentioned getting resolve and spellbook but in this video you went comet inspiration. Is this the new basic runes or is it only against leblanc. Please explain and thank you in advance.
Hey man in my recent TF video I explain when to take each, but comet is the inbetween rune choice for beginners, who don't want to play super aggressive and take electro and aren't comfortable taking the utility approach with unsealed spellbook
You are by far my favrioite leauge you tuber so informative and helpful for climbing keep up the good work but I do have a question (do you you guides on ad champs I only am seeing ap or hybrid (tf)) or is their a reason for not doing ad or am I missing something 😂
Great video mate! Can you make a video about macro? For example, when you say that its better to play towards winning lanes, and toward top when baron shows up.
Thoughts on Resolve secondary like the Spellbook build? Or is Demat too imortant? What about TWT and corrupt over Boots? I understand why TP is good, but I also like ghost. Is that a defensible choice?
Demat is too important because the wave clear is so nice. I also think that Ghost is great but again, it's such a mid game/late game scaling summoner choice, whereas TP is so flexible, it can help you in laning phase, it can help you in mid game and late game. TP in my opinion is the ultimate defensive and offensive summoner, because if you get low, you can get a free recall and tp back without losing too many creeps
Do you prefer Electrocute or comet for TF, and the reasoning? Thank you so much for your guides! I was plat 2 last season and now feel extremely hard stuck in gold which is crazy to me!
I still prefer unsealed spellbook, but if I had to choose between comet/electro I still prefer comet because I feel like Electro is unreliable to proc and I don't really like the domination tree. Hopefully this helps man :)
Hey man i love your videos and i had a question about someone like RATIRL playing TF in lower elo. I’m not sure if you’ve watched his games but he’s been playing all kinds of champions, one of them being TF and stomping on everyone despite having super low cs numbers as he always seems to pick off other lanes roaming lvl 2 or 3. Do you think people in lower elo would be able to copy what he’s doing or is it better to follow a more standard form of play such as u explained in this video. Thanks again
Well the thing is, high elo players can play anything in low elo and win. I try to play these games asif I'm a lower elo player and not just pub stomp. So I highly doubt you'll be able to copy any of the stuff you see the high elo players do
i just found you channel and i already watched a lot of your videos, but i just have a quick question about tf, what do u think about the blue trinket? should i buy it or should i stay on the yellow trinket?
Curtis how do you lane vs fizz playing ekko. I have a really hard time with that matchup and the diana one, should i just stack wave and poke him early or accept that for the most part he's going to win trades, and look to make roams instead? Playing s2 rn as g2 last season.
The main tip for vsing Fizz is using your E to avoid Fizz E damage, and also trying to use Q as poke when Fizz goes up to AA CS. Once you get your first base, just use W on the wave and you should be able to get free push/ be stronger then Fizz with the shield. BUT once you use E-Q-W, ALWAYS back up after so that fizz can't counter trade because your CD's will be down. If Fizz uses E on the wave, then you can aggressively trade onto him. Also try and use R to dodge Fizz Fish
Who the fuck dislikes these videos Alot of quality content with each video we became aware of a new concept keep up Curtis this channel is so underrated
This was a game changer for me on tf. Changed my playstyle completely, i’m playing way slower, waiting for obvious choices with my ult instead of forcing my team into awkward situations. And i went from 45% winrate on the champ last season i played it to 65% this season. And i’m not even kidding
Good to hear, how is it going now? I’m thinking of playing some tf myself
Who is this man? So underrated!
Hahaha I'm Coach Curtis!! Thanks for watching mate
Hahahaha i legit thought the samd thing
Like really, his video is very detailed and good if you want improve in the game ingeneral
I've just found ur channel a couple of days ago, but loving the detailed content - especially since TF is my main midlaner- very glad I subscribed
Thanks for tuning in Barnaby really appreciate it, glad I could help a fellow TF player :)
Those notes that appear on the screen are SOOO helpful, thanks for the effort coach!
No problem at all Gian :) Thanks for tuning in

Dude I love this comment. Hope you find what you like. I’m the same goddamn way lol
if you drop champions after just a few games that is a problem, once you play against better players you will get better. that's how I feel anyway.
Did this video change anything?
I love this vid bro I hate when I see “how to carry low elo” vids and they get an “accidental” first blood like 30 seconds in, or just they get a super lucky double kill that totally invalidates the game. Cuz of course it’ll be super easy to carry after that.

For me TF is one of the best champions in League because with him you HAVE to play smart to be an effective pick.
Great video as always!
Yep that's right, you can't afford to play mindlessly with TF , always got to be on the ball.
Thanks Cleyson appreciate it!
I found out your channel today...i was looking for someone like u. I'm playing League from 2013 and this is i think the best midlane content i've ever seen. Continue this!

Thanks for tuning in Gonzalo appreciate it mate
Bro i'm a TF OTP for since 3 seasons and omg this video is GOLD.
honestly the most helpful twisted fate content on youtube
Wow! That was a really solid guide video where you carried the team for a comeback instead of a stomp. Love your content!
Appreciate it Paul!
This is the kind of content that i love watching, great job mate!
great vid. Can't tell you how many times I've been either winning or even with my laner only for the other lanes to feed their face off and I haven't been able to carry. Gonna check out the rest of your stuff!

Great game review here Curtis. Keep it up
Thanks for tuning in Zach. Will do mate
Thanks for this guide man! Its sooo good to help us to understand better not just tf but also the game itself. Btw thanks for doing this guide with one of the champs I told you to give us some advice, I think this is a really hard match up for tf but you made it look so easy man! Thanks a lot
No problem at all Kevin, glad that I could help you out with this video. Feel free to ask questions in the discord if you need any more advice :)
OK BUT YOU SIR ARE THE ANSWER TO MY PRAYERS HOW ARE YOU SO UNDERRATED AND HOW HAVE I ONLY JUST FOUND YOUR VIDEOS
Its been so long since a strugled to play tf correctly since he is my favorite champion along with lucian, then I found this and I felt clearly the difference, from all the tf guide, yours clearly does oustand, wich so much details, big up bro.
Appreciate the kind words Zoheir, thanks for tuning in!

Maybe!!

Woooahhh!! This is a video I never thought would be made ! I'm so excited to watch !!!!!!!!!!! Awesome as always Curtis !!
Let me know if it helps you out! Thanks Poko :)
This is such a great video for low ELO players, it's all stuff that I know is important, however is so easy to forget and take for granted. And here you are literally carrying games by being a farm bot :D
Yeah exactly not even just for TF :) Farm bot low elo carry activated!
After watching this I played two games with tf and on the second one went 9/1/6 at 15 minutes thank you
Pretty interesting. My instinct would have been to go for desperation plays to try and get my team back in this game, so it's cool to see you did the opposite.
true m8 no need for desperationerie
Really great coaching bro !

Ahh yeah makes sense, I couldn't make out the animation in the VOD, thanks for clarifying :)
amazing video i would have never had the mental to win such a game, nice
Ur my favorite lol youtuber now i watch all your videos thanks alot
My pleasure mate!
Thank you again for dedicating your time towards Twisted Fate. I have a question for you though. Do you think Unsealed Spellbook is still viable like comet in low elo? I really love using it. YES! Tf videos are the best!!
No problem Chris!
Nice video! Btw what i started doing recently is i would type Mid SS care bot and spam it in all chat 😂 90% od the time they just go back to lane lol
Should I start Doran's ring and get the free boots. Or corrupting potion with time warp tonic? Is it just matchup dependent?
Dude I love your content, but your tf is the best
Appreciate it mate :) Thanks for tuning in
brow honestly, i have a such good mechanic with tf, but i never be able to carry my team, but after i see you videos and tips about macro play browww I'm on insane win streak up to the sky, I have so much to learn but realy start to think macro its the way to up mmr

Ayyy great timing haha, hopefully this video helps man
Hey great video. I am trying to learn TF I low Elo so this is perfect but can you show how to use unsealed spellbook in low elo?
Try and watch my other TF videos, I explain throughout the videos how to use spellbook effectively :)
Coach Curtis ok thank you!
Amazing channel, great advice. Thank you!
My pleasure man
I would love to have you as a coach one day. You are an awesome coach man! I love the tf mid, also do you like playing lucian mid?
Thanks for tuning in Steven! I don't play Lucian mid too much, but I do think it's decent as a counter pick to low range matchups and some immobile mages. But it doesn't leave too much room for error
Just found the best TH-cam channel
Thanks Jeffrey!
About roaming on ornn, since you also have a tank top, wouldn't it be good to roam top if maokai is able to gain advantage?
Again, aslong as you are weighing up the trade offs and benefits of actually ulting top then it is fine. glad this popped up ive been needing to know how to play twisted fate XDD
Awesome! Thanks for tuning in mate
Is it possible to play TF fast paced as well? Is there an elo you'd recommend waiting to get to before you try the fast paced TF style?
Amazing content, subscribed
amazing as always thank you coach for helping me escape elo hell xD
No problem Mike, but remember there is no such thing as elo hell !
Hey Curtis, I'm just so used to the faster paced rush Ionian then shove and roam tf playstyle. Is it possible to climb low elo with tf this way too?
This same game plan can be used on Ryze, right? Thank you for video!!
Very similar yeah! Since Ryze scales well and can R to sides to make picks
Another great video
Which other mid laners do you recommend for low elo?
Check out my tier lists within the FAQ section of my discord
AD champions mid or AD TF specifically?
Thanks for watching man really appreciate it
Ad champions in the mid lane no one in particular
Hi may i ask on which minion i should use the minion dematerializer and why.
Btw great content and very clear thank you for your effort :)
Always use on the casters, because at ROA and Aether Wisp your Q 1 shots the back 3 creeps
@@CoachCurtis thanks
Great video mate! Can you make a video about macro? For example, when you say that its better to play towards winning lanes, and toward top when baron shows up.
I can cover more of this in my next videos, but I try to cover it amongst all my videos :)
Really good video!
So I highly doubt you'll be able to copy any of the stuff you see the high elo players do
@@CoachCurtis Haha sounds good, thanks!
Is there any chance we can get a version of this with the new runes and items?
you should do another video on twisted fate!
i just found you channel and i already watched a lot of your videos, but i just have a quick question about tf, what do u think about the blue trinket? should i buy it or should i stay on the yellow trinket?
Swap to blue trinket at 19/20 mins
@@CoachCurtis thank you so much!
Really good video, pls make more !!
Hey coach, what do you think about the new tf buffs? Will it help him alot in the lower elos?
Hey Jasper, I actually think the TF buffs will help him at all elos, specifically with poking in lane
Who the fuck dislikes these videos
Alot of quality content with each video we became aware of a new concept keep up Curtis this channel is so underrated
Thanks man really appreciate it. Will keep it up for the community!
if you are comfortable with spell book and resolve secondary would u recommend it over this setup even low elo? good vid btw for my main :)
Yeah I still think unsealed spellbook is the best rune choice on TF in my opinion . Thanks for tuning in !
You’re really smart and good have you ever considered streaming or something ?
