The comment about alaskans getting about $10k a year is way off. The unions have been lobbyists with the politicians to take a big cut of the PFD claiming "they can spend it better than the people". The people are getting $1,000 to $2,000 annually and tye politicians try to get more annually. $2,000 isn't anything compared to the cost of living expenses (especially in the villages)
