He stands alone and nothing beats this. I had a ticket for Sept of 74 in Michigan, he was so drunk he could barely stand. He tried 2 songs and they made him go off stage. I thought I might die, he was my absolute favorite. Saw him in 2011 and he didn't miss a beat. Pure class
l agree with you, indeed Joe Cocker is a great and talented artist who's songs never goes out of style, he's one of my favorites artist, he's songs still and always heals the Soul, I pray God gives you lot of beautiful days.
To think all of us Joe Cocker fans know he was holding back here , he was being a professional and letting others have their go , can you imagine what he would have done had he cut loose. LAWDY, LAWDY.
This was filmed at a bar in NYC after one of their shows. Can you imagine sitting in a bar and in walks in Joe Cocker, Leon Russell and half the band still all wound up from the show and ready to let loose? It must have been a helluva good time.
Yes! Would have been crazy. I did see the first show they did in Detroit. There will never be this kind of thing again Thankful I grew up in the best era of music ever.
Could Leon Russell look any more stoned out of his mind? God, but this must have been one hell of a party! You'll never see something this big, this epic, with this powerhouse sound ever again. It's a damn shame!
@KAZTRONIC great vid kat, ive been getting back into this early stuff since hearing susan tedeschi and derek trucks do a version of space captain at crossroads in 2010 it was brilliant, and it reminds me of how good music used to be. I see a very young chris stanton here too, hes played a lot with clapton over the years, still does. Just some useless info there lol

@TheKailua62 No kidding! ;) J.C.'s arguably one of the best "blue-eyed soul" singers of all time, along with early Stevie Winwood, Rod Stewart & Boz Scaggs;Van (The Man) Morrison, Dr. John, and a few more (IMO).
There's a theme lived with me throughout these times. Whether it was Mad Dogs, Bangla Desh, Homewood Studios. Whatever. I always thought Don Preston was fantastic, but it was like he was always censored. And surely, Bangla Desh was almost predictable. I often wondered how he felt.
When musicians cared more about making music than money and when they had fun doing it. Most amazing R&R concert tour ever.

Lawdy, Lawdy that man could sing. Love JOE COCKER.

BTW, the guy who sings with Joe is Matthew Moore, member of the Space Choir and author of the song Space Captain.
Was there ever a better, more beautiful backing singer than Claudia Lennear? What a gorgeous, talented, happy soul.
We were lovers, you know. She loved me so passionately every night. Waking up was always such a let down.
The voice 🎉one of the best 👌, besides elvis for me, has a soulful voice and raspberry, absolutely had "IT"❤
super Joe merci a toi pour cette reprise ✌✌🎼🎼❤❤

He was killer when he wasn't even trying

É 10!
That's the only time I've ever seen Leon smile.
Ah he has smiled from time to time but yeh, he's not one for the big grins. He was having a blast at that moment. They all were...
What a bluesy voice, Joe!!
Nota 2000!!!

Not just Leon, I would have loved to had the Orange Sunshine concession for the show. I need a time machine I was just a little 2 young. .

OMG Awesome!
The greatest English singer of his time
😆 😆
Indeed!
@lsjelectronics Agreed, that performance of "Space Captain" by The Derek Trucks Band, with wife Susan, at Crossroads 2010, was ABSOLUTELY killer!

Damn cool!
Absolute 24 carat gold!
Joe was born full o'jive and it had too come out!!
@judecreek2 I believe this is a little bar in San Fransisco called,"The Continental Lodge".
As high as a kite .. the entire shooting lot.
Yep and they were having a blast making some awesome music.
Nota 1.000!!!
Lawdy lawdy soon to be fourty

and Claudia Lennear
Me encanta pero que música
@dunskie You are right and I am wrong. A brain fart on my part.
What is the song from Mad Dogs & Englishmen where the chorus goes "oh baby, I get stoned!" It's sort of a mid-tempo rocker.
Lets go get stoned?

anybody know who the guy is that sings after Joe is. he starts around :40
I think maybe drummer Jim Keltner
Matthew Moore, he wrote "Space Captain" and sang in the choir on this tour.
