Melodi… you are a Warrior my dear friend… I absolutely adore your cabin kitchenette, so well planned out … I see we have “matching decor” 😉… you are always in our prayers 🙏
Awww... thank you sweet Joanie. I loved your 'In the Garden' this morning... so beautiful! Your lovely notes from time to time, give me great comfort. 💖Thank you dear friend.
I am living your life on Bird Island.i am so glad I found this wonderful couple.Such a magical place.Did you find the baby bear. The only problem is they Grow up.😂.love your tiny kitchen, you have made a wonderful tiny home,I would love to live like you.! I live in Hailsham England which is glorious. I adventure, as I have travelled all over Europe, and South Africa,so never say never.!! Stay safe guys.Angela from south east Sussex. ❤
We have seen many black bears on our way up to the island. Melodi even saw a grizzly one time when I wasn't with her. It is truly a magical place and we are grateful for the chance to live like this. Melodi has a daughter in London who was just here on Bird Island for two weeks! It was a wonderful visit. Melodi and I hope to be back in the UK again soon to visit her. We love the country, the history and especially the food over there! Thank you for watching! -Ryan
Ryan really is such a hard worker. He doesn't just 'slap' stuff together without careful attention - he cares about his work. I really appreciate that 💚
It's both of them that do the work not just Ryan. Remember Melodi has as 4 back surgeries and is limited in what she can do physically. Honestly she does far more than she should considering. Gotta love passive/aggressive compliments lol.
@@SagebrushRambles You're right about that and as I mentioned to another commenter, no one would be any the wiser all the work Ryan is doing if Melodi wasn't filming him and giving him all the credit he's deserved while they've decided which tasks each takes on that works for both of them so they can achieve their goal w/o unnecessary risk and live happily-ever-after. Backhanded compliments are so unnecessary.
Aww... we really do appreciate the acknowledgement. I do realize that people may not fully understand the whole story and process that we have to go through but you sure seem to (and so does @SagebrushRambles ) - so, thank you both for your kind comments... you are such fun to be on this journey with!
I must say...I love how great your counter top looks. I feel for you though, the thought of all that smoke all the time. I truly hope you get some clean air.
Thank you so much. I was so pleased with how it turned out. The smoke was just another story and yes... it was one of the tougher struggles we faced during that time. 💚
The timing of this episode is ominous, talking about all the bumps, bruises and injuries and even falling. The cabin is looking great, take care, life and health is precious
Oh yes, I know... it did feel a bit strange to watch during the edit! Life is so precious and so very fragile. Thank you for your kind comments and support of this channel 💚
From the start, you two with extreme optimism, your kindness and love for one another makes your channel a real joy to watch❤️🙏😇 prayers going up to our Lord “ for a speedy recovery ❤️🩹 “ .
Yes, Melodi is such a bright and shining light, isn't she? Prayers are always welcome and I believe it is through the power of prayer and the grace of God that I have been blessed to be healed enough to walk out of the hospital so soon after the fall. 🙏 Thank you for watching. -Ryan
Thank you so much! We just love being able to make our food right in here... away from mosquitoes and sometimes the chill in the air. It's a real gift! 💚
Love the kitchenette! I don’t have a sink in my tiny house either and it works just fine. I actually use a plastic basin that we got due to a hospital stay. It works like a charm. I live at the edge of the woods, so I’m able to dump it in different spots using no harmful cleaning agents. Oh the blessings of hardwork that sustains the simple life. It is so rewarding!😊
A simple life brings simple pleasures, and happiness extends your time here on earth. We too respect what we have and are commtted to protect our natural surroundings. Thank you for taking part in our adventure! -Ryan
I got a case of the goosies seeing Ryan up on that ladder! It immediately brought back my short 4 ft fall off the ladder 8 weeks ago and I felt it all over again. I only missed the bottom two rungs and am just now getting back being comfortable when I sneeze or cough. I simply cannot fathom a fall from 14 ft! Ryan might not want to watch this episode any time soon! The kitchenette looks wonderful as does the entire cabin!! ❤
Oh I'm so sorry that happened to you...I remember you saying that. I'm sorry you're still sore too... nasty things, those ladders 🪜. Your kindness is just so very sweet and it really makes us happy when we hear from you. Thank you so much for your support 🙏 ❤️ Hugs!
Hugs to you Cindi! ❤️ We thank you for your kind comments. I was so thrilled that Ryan could come to the livestream to thank you all. We really love this little kitchenette. We don't need an indoor sink, we are okay doing without. The fridge and little oven have given us more options in our diet out here for sure though! Thank you for watching! Hugs to you ❤️
1. Induction cooktops are more efficient than regular electric or halogen hot plates. If you boil water often, electric kettles are very fast for tea, coffee, ramen or pre-heatng water to go into another pot 2. 3 wire isn't for 2 circuits. It has only one neutral and ground. It is for 2 phase or if a switch leg is needed 3. Interior Construction Order: first ceiling, second walls, third floors
Hey there @FreezyAbitKT7A you make some really great points and provide some good intel. We appreciate you watching and invite you to stayed because there is so much more to come! 🌿
Thank you for the tutelage! I agree with points 1 and 3. As for point 2, (and for the benefit of our subscribers and others who may read this comment) perhaps we are stepping on nomenclature here in terms of what we each might mean by "three wire". Where I come from "three wire" means three 'current carrying' wires plus ground. So four actual wires in total. In 120V situations, we use it for switch circuitry, but also for wiring two circuits in close proximity to each other, like for wiring a string of kitchen plugs where the top plug is on one circuit and the bottom plug is on another. Another use case is to wire an outlet circuit and nearby lighting circuit independently. In both cases, the three wire (2 hots, a neutral and a ground) come from the panel as a single distribution line. The two hots are fused separately at the panel, and both resulting "circuits" share the neutral and ground wires. In 240V situations, three wire provides a neutral in case the 240V equipment requires neutral for 120V pilot lights, for example. In straight 240V applications where a neutral is not required, standard "two wire" is suitable, (two conductor, plus ground) but the white wire would need to be taped over with black tape at both ends of the circuit (the panel and the equipment). I welcome your comments! -Ryan
I hope you have plenty of footage to see you through while Ryan recovers and that he's on the mend. Nice Vanna White moves Ryan lol. 5:40. You could always set up a camper van style sink. There are sinks that pump water with a foot pedal and you just have a small Jerry can type clean water tank that you pump out of and another empty one that your grey water goes into. They are great for small jobs like a few dishes, pot filling and washing veggies. Like what you have set up outside...kinda.
Hello there! Thank you for you comment 😆 We have a lot of content to continue posting... no one will even notice Ryan's sabbatical. We'll be back for Season 3 all healthy and happy too. Thank you so much for your support! 💚
I believe that this one is also an air fryer but maybe not a dehydrator. We gave one away that might be similar to what you are speaking of, in our Subscriber Celebration giveaway on Sunday though. Thank you for watching! 💚
Yes, that is the plan. We can't leave them on the beach because they would end up underwater. The lake really rises in the spring... it comes up 6-8 feet! -Ryan
There are boats that go by but not all that often - this past season we really noticed there would be days when you wouldn't hear a single thing. We have never had anyone just come onto the island that we know of... people are very respectful. If we see them go by and wave, they might come over to say hello but otherwise- they don't. There are about 3 families that live on the lake year round - they are just outstanding people and have been a HUGE help to us when we've had a couple of emergencies. Another seasonal resident is just AMAZING and we can't wait to see him and his wife each year.
Can I just ask? Why, since you had the wood for the interior's walls, you didn't do that before you finished your kitchenet. And then that whole wall would have been done. Now, you have to take everything down again to finish the walls.
We had wood for the ceiling and front and back walls, but not the side walls. We got material for the side walls afterwards. We did the kitchenette because we just couldn't stand it any longer. It is not much work to remove that counter, hang the siding, and reattach the counter, like we did with the media centre. No problem at all, really. We appreciate your comments! ~Ryan
Great job guys. Hoping Ryan is healing after his fall. ❤❤
Thank you so much... he is beginning the whole process and although we know it'll be a bit of a climb, he'll make it through this. 💚
Hahaha! Opal is too funny.😂. The kitchenette looks so wonderful. Ryan did an amazing job👍👍👍❤
Yes, Opal is a sweet dolly! A bit of a brat, but a good girl. Thank you for being there for us! -Ryan

Where do you get the power from to your island
We harness the energy from the sun right on our island! It's amazing! 🌞
Where is all the lake water going, does it go to a dam some where else .
It flows out a river and eventually wends its way to the Arctic ocean. Thank you for your comment! -Ryan

Hire a tree guy an have him clim up and top them trees take like 30 feet off the tops
