I was intubated in 2009 when I got the "Swine flu" aka H1N1. I was 35-years-old. I did understand that I was dying. I could barely whisper to my husband "I don't think I am going to make it" but... here I am... because I had TWO amazing doctors one of them recognized the severity of my distress when I arrived into ER and he sent me straight into ICU because of my low oxygen levels. For older patients it a lot harder to recover. This job could be emotional 100% when you have compassion! I still remember 3 nurses from 2009 who made a HUGE difference in my daily life after I woke up from medically induced coma (spent 1 month in coma). Thanks for sharing this video. Hugs! You are a nice person! May God bless you!

As you gain more experience, you’ll learn to separate yourself from the emotional side and it will help you keep your feelings under wrap. It never gets easier just more tolerable. From one nurse to a future nurse!! Keep doing what you do! Btw, those are my favorite pens too!!
I used to be a CNA at a nursing home. When covid hit I was working the covid floor. Out of 80 residents, 20 of them died of covid. I had so many people literally die in my arms. COVID SUCKS!
this just hurt my heart to read, so much :( i'm so sorry you had to experience all of this, and I hope you've taken some time to cope/self care. I haven't experienced a covid death yet, but I have seen the worst of it, and I just wish it was over. i'll be praying for you :'(

My aunt had COVID was intubated for a while & with lots of prayer and the fight she had she made it through and is doing well but it’s so hard watching patients go through this 🙏🏽 praying things get better for all of us. I love those sharpie gel pens they work so good!

Just go into work everyday with an open mind, and take care of yourself! Keep yourself protected, make sure you have on all of the appropriate PPE when you’re around them. They may be really sick, but they’re still human and didn’t ask for this virus that is hard to control. Don’t be nervous, you got this!!!! You’re going to do just fine ☺️

I wanna actually work with animals for my forever career but this will do for now. Hey brianna im starting my dialysis technician programme in Jan 2023 so i've been binge watching alot of videos because im so excited. The programme is 12 months duration (9 months theory 3 months practical) and im wondering if i may have to get more experienes to get a job as dialysis tech? I also will be getting an interview soon too. I just to do something good in my life. Ever since i had my son i had to give 5 years of my life for him and now that he's into school i decided i wont be home anymore so i want to work and make my own money.
You might want to avoid touching the outside of your mask and then touching your mouth and face. The outside of the mask has viruses and germs on them- just a word of caution from an RN. Thank you for your service.
