    Very well done! Thank you for doing this. It answered a lot of questions I had as far as what exactly PCT's do. 10-years ago I went for my EMT-b and loved it but some "life" happened and I had to walk away. Now I'm going back for my RN and contemplating doing PCT under a CNA cert. Watching this helped A LOT. Thank you!

      Chosen Warrior no it’s not well not in nyc anyway cna can’t do ekg or draw blood and are employed primarily in nursing homes and pct can do cna job but they have more responsibilities and they not only take vitals, they draw blood, give ekg and can remove IV they have a bigger scope of practice basically and hospitals here pretty much take pct over lpn (cheaper to pay) so now here we see lpn in nursing homes supervising cna’s in partnership with a RN. Hospital care team typically Physican, RN, PCT

    • @KayThePA
      @KayThePA  5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Nae T I'm glad you like it :). And I think it was a challenge for me initially dealing with body functions... cleaning someone else's poop (esp spoiled patients') was not something I thought I was capable of lol but I learned that it really comes down to taking care of people that cannot do it for themselves. I feel I've matured in that sense overtime. I also see the difference I can make in other people's lives.

      Hi! I think this video will help you with transitioning to the hospital th-cam.com/video/G8zn1WiZuUo/w-d-xo.html. It's just some tips and advice on working at the hospital. But it's a lot of multitasking and helping people to the bathroom because they just had surgery. You'll probably be doing a lot of vital signs and emptying drains and Foley's. Also turning patients every two hours who cannot move on their own. I think it'll be a nice change from the nursing home and you'll learn a lot. You can watch my other PCT videos for more info.

Thk you❤️

    • @KayThePA
      @KayThePA  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think they are so short in the hospital now, so if you apply, you never know what may happen. I will say though that working in the hospital can be very tiring. The workload can be a lot when it comes to patient care. If the ALF is not that bad, it may be easier for you as an older person to stay there. I know people in their 50's that tell me working in the hospital is really hard for them. It's up to you though.
