The Year of Our Lord, 2125. I’ve acquired Dingus McFarlend in a trade with the New York Mets. Dingus is a sub replacement level infielder who can’t hit, but with his fielding skill can play all infield positions. Here’s hoping Dingus can put us over the edge to finish a season above .500 for the first time in 100 years.
Don't forget trading a AAAA prospect pitcher for Homer McPitcherson, a 95-105 ERA+ pitcher with massive swing and miss stuff but when he gets hit gets crushed, making the entire defensive team philosophy useless. He will be DFA'd or traded within 2 months after racking up -.8 WAR.
That would require the assumption that Bailey is gonna eventually actually pull off a WS appearance and win. I'm not sure that's a reasonable expectation, no offense to Bailey or course. The A's are just bad.
i get that a lot of the guys you traded away were guys at the end of they're contracts/getting into their arb years but man it is brutal that essentially after a 7+ year long rebuild last year was the first sign of this team not being completely terrible and you essentially had to start another rebuild. i would not be shocked if you get fired next episode lmao.
Bailey I’m not sure about the strategy of going for high stuff pitchers like Hall and an elite defense at the same time. Would love to see some 60 control/60 HRA guys who get the ball in play but keep it in the park.
I would like to recommend fisher puts some money into ballpark renovations. In this series since they haven’t gotten a new stadium, I think I’m the offseason you should move in the left field walls and update the sliders for the ballpark
That offseason was the first time i really questioned your methods I think and man... It hurts. Not judging though, i can't imagine I'd be any better myself. Love this deries Bailey please keep em coming
If a guy doesn’t have two 55+ (really 60+) stats for hitting he simply will not hit well please go after some bats that are just serviceable defensively instead of the constant obsession with range and mid everywhere else
This is my favourite series ever, makes me wanna play OOTP. Reason being that if baseball facts man F. Bailey can't fix the A's then I won't feel bad tanking the Blue Jays
man this isn't even real life and his potential being realized is in-game years away but i can hardly express just how excited i am by the idea of jared forrest playing for your team in the majors some day. hope to god that you don't get fired after this season, i really need this to continue literally just for the sake of watching jared forrest's career unfold
Love you Bailey but every year feels like a mini-rebuild. Don’t really think the defense-first approach really works as it hasn’t shown anything for 10 years now
Other than the putrid offense he's willing to settle with, the main issue with his defense-first approach is that he then pairs it with a pitching staff that's mostly three true outcomes sorts. Defense means a whole lot less when the bulk of opponent ABs are strikeout, walk, or HR.
Have had issues like this on this version of the game. Totally different game than 23. 23 I can maintain a crazy good team for decades but on this new version feels like all the ratings are very close together. The MVP and 2 finalists (freeman, Betts, Ohtani) from last year that are perennial stars have no ratings above 65.
bailey pleasemax dev budget!! also player evaluation, stars doesnt matter. Just like how stars dont matter in football manager. The only thing that matters is Contact, HR, Eye. Al the other things like avoid Ks, babip, gap power, forget they exist. Please jhst follow this its mildly infuriating haha
I've played a lot of FM, but never Out of the Park Baseball. In FM a player's stars are constantly being adjusted and a their number of stars is relative to your teams current talent level. Does Out of the Park Baseball do the same thing?
@@zacharyanderson5270 stars are relative to the league, and in ootp it also takes into account the players performance. eg if the player won mvp or cy young, their star rating is liekly over-inflated. if underperforming, the player might be 2 stars even though their stats are good ("positive regression"/regression to the mean)
May I recommend setting player ratings to the 20-80 scale rather than stars? Much easier to understand the true ability of the player with definite numbers!

This series is so brutal, but I'm so invested
It’s like being the fan of a bad team
A'ss magic ❤
We traded him for Vinny an he sucks ❤
#FireFoolish
You should keep the series going until you win a world series
So forever!
We know that ain’t happening
That would require the assumption that Bailey is gonna eventually actually pull off a WS appearance and win. I'm not sure that's a reasonable expectation, no offense to Bailey or course.
The A's are just bad.
Nah I want to see a full blown dynasty!!
Any way to force a sale of the team? This team needs new ownership :D
Bailey’s earnest but failing endeavors to improve the Oakland A’s is somehow quite endearing to watch

Truly the Oakland As experience.

I'm seeing #FireFoolish on Oakland Twitter and a fan has gone live on a local radio show calling for your head
I think the Foolishness is #over
i could 100% see someone calling into A's Cast and ranting about this series lol
Moderate changes every offseason gets me rxcited for this. Then the season happens.
Spaghetti as a closer is madness honestly.
Only in Foolish OOTP would we see a team catch the concussion bug
This series is so hilarious, I’m watching at 1am, he pulled up Gavin Williams stats at 14:21 and I just died laughing
this series is keeping me sane Bailey. thank you brother
The way things are going this series is making me go insane

When the World Series? October-November. Congrats, your relationship is saved

Maybe we gotta try an all slug, no defensive team build.

same, he actually looks really good. especially as a college player too he’ll likely hit his potential or get really close to it
I’m loving this series Bailey. You’re unlucky though!
All in on this series. The Foolish As are currently my number 2 team in all of sport
People in the comments complaining don’t understand that this is the authentic A’s fan experience
Let’s see what other middling catching prospect Bailey drafts
this one doesn’t look too bad. jarred forrest hive starts today
Love your play-by-play Bailey, better than A's broadcast in real life😂
Hey Siri it’s not your night!
you gotta give it credit for being pretty realistic, at least results wise
Please keep this series going
I’ll name my first born “Foolish” if you win the World Series this season
Is bailey trying to win using the most sicko-not-even-tampa-would-dare-try-this-shit strategy possible???
As an A's fan since 1986, this series is so relatable!
Great job Bailey and Fuck John Fisher.
I love the series every time I see it in my sub box I INSTANTLY click! ❤❤
Just told my wife that she has to watch the kids for the next 20 minutes. Gotta watch my Foolish Baseball OOTP!
