    On Tommy's advice, I installed The track bar a few months ago. We live in Metro Atlanta. The longer the trip, the more noticeable the improved stability with crosswinds and the semis. Our last trip to Florida, the wind was hitting his broadside till we made it to I-10. The track bar really did make a difference in stability and confidence. I watch cars and vans being pushed around on the interstate too. This added another improvement stabilizing this top heavy Winnebago during semi passes. Thanks Super Steer! Money well spent because of the added safety.

      Thanks Earl for the great feedback!! Glad that the SS701 has made driving your Sprinter more enjoyable. Similar to your experience, we noticed the rear trac bar really helped out with stability in high winds and when semi trucks pass. Considering how tall, narrow and relatively light the Sprinter chassis is, anything that can make it more stable in the winds is worth it in our opinion!

    I was also shocked at the very noticeable sway improvement the Koni adjustable front shocks made. I have a heavy duty sway bar I put on years ago and I've been very happy. I had no idea the Koni shocks would have any impact on the sway. I set mine to 80%. I'm extremely happy with them.

      Glad you're enjoying the 87-2657 Koni struts! The difference they make definitely is dramatic - they work well with a good set of rear shocks to cut down on the typical Sprinter "rock and roll" issue, and also cut down on dive in corners so much that it felt like we had put a bigger front sway bar on.

      @@SuperSteer a few years ago, I put the Fox 2.5 shocks on. At the time that was the best option. And what a fantastic difference they made. Would be nice to know The difference in your new shocks and the fox 2.5. The fact your custom Koni's are adjustable and hydraulic dampening both ways huge pluses.

      @@earlhunt2815 Good question! The Fox 2.5 shocks were one of our competitive benchmarks when we developed our shocks, because they really do a great job in cutting out the rock and roll. The Fox 2.5 shocks currently available for the Sprinter 3500 2wd are monotube nonadjustable, while ours are twin-tube with adjustable rebound damping. With ours adjusted to about 75% of their maximum rebound damping we were able to achieve equivalent stability to what the Foxes provided but with less ride harshness. This is because our shocks are designed to be relatively soft in compression to allow the suspension to compress over bumps, but very strong in rebound to control the body movement. We really like the fact that our shocks can be adjusted to each owner's preference and loading.

    Curious if you've done testing with your wheel spacers prior and after? I've done everything you have except the spacers, but still feel the push from semis passing more than I like as well as still looking for better handling in the wind. It's pretty good, but I know it can still do better based on driving other RV's.

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Good question, thanks for asking! We noticed a bit of improvement with the wheel spacers in wind and coming in and out of driveways. Not as dramatic as other improvements, but they did help it. Are you running the Koni adjustable front struts too?

    • @rvlifediy
      @rvlifediy ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SuperSteer yes have the front koni struts set at Max setting

      @@rvlifediy Ok, that's what we found worked best too. There's also the Steer Safe steering stabilizer which we do carry, although we haven't tried that out on ours yet. We are running Air Tabs on the back of ours as well which seemed to help - you might also consider those. Give us a call if you'd like to discuss in more detail!

    1) does swapping out the front struts to what you recommend in this video, force one to get a Front-end Wheel-alignment? 2) how much weight is the entire SuperSteer Track-Bar apparatus?

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Dean, thanks for the questions.
      1. Yes, if you change out your front struts, you will need to get your coach aligned.
      2. The SS701 Rear Trac Bar assembly has a shipping weight of 25 lbs.
      Please let us know if you have any other questions!

      I had the Front Koni's put on here in ATL by our truck and semi shop. $120 to install and then alignment separate charge. This shop spin balances the front tires. Mercy, what an incredible difference...I was due for alignment and balance

    When you installed the Tracbar on the Sprinter did you have to modify the exhaust? I have a 2022 Jayco Melbourne on the Mercedes Sprinter with the exhaust coming out to the rear of the RV and I am being told the exhaust must be modified to come out in front of the rear tires for the tracbar install.
    Thanks

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good question! On our Navion the exhaust already exited in front of the rear axle, so we did not need to modify the exhaust. If as in your case the tailpipe exits behind the rear axle, then it must be re-routed to exit in front of the rear axle.

    What's the difference between your sway bar, and hellwig?

    • @SuperSteer
      @SuperSteer  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good question! Our SS110 is made for us by Roadmaster and now includes new heavy-duty end-links, while the Hellwig reuses the factory links. For older (most pre-2016) Sprinters we also can provide the upgraded Mercedes-style saddle brackets, while the Hellwig kits on older units use strap-style saddle brackets which sometimes break. In general, we prefer the quality, fit and finish of the Roadmaster bars to the Hellwig units.

    • @vteccured
      @vteccured ปีที่แล้ว

      @SuperSteer , I'm considering replacing my hellwig bar, With along , the track bar setup as well.
      Since the Agile RIP, the new rear leaf springs create a piping sound when the rig goes over uneven surface. For example, a driveway.
      Everything is torqued and check multiple times , but I don't know if the axle is walking or shifting, cresting that loud metal poping noise.
