I take my hat off to the marketing guys of sumo to get people to pay so much for a lump of rubber, they do say one born every minute unless you get them for free like you guys. 😂😂😂

I like that you went to the trouble to get the gopro footage of the new bumpstops while driving. This was a well made informative video. Thanks!

Nice install, you should feel a difference.
I put the Sumo springs on the front, air bags on the rear and coil over shocks on all 4 corners.
And a large anti sway bar on the rear.
The rear anti sway bar and air bags were the best improvement for keeping the van stable on the interstate and the Sumo springs helped on the uneven roads.
    Always a thumbs up 👍

I installed these on my Winnebago Via RV with a Mercedes Sprinter 3500, dual rear wheels. I installed the yellow Suma Springs and bump stops due to the additional weight load of the vehicle. They absolutely made a huge improvement in reducing sway and bounce of the chassis. I then went a step further and replaced the original shocks with high quality Bilstein shocks on the rear and struts on the front. They also made a significant impact. I highly recommend doing both. Be sure to have the front end aligned if you change the struts. This upgrade comes with a bit of a harder ride, especially from the rear axle, but that is a small price to pay for the greatly improved ride and safety. Great video, as always!

      Hello!
Question, since you have a Sprinter based RV similar to mine (Leisure Travel Van). Maybe you have some input that I can use. Anyway, my front tires show signs of excessive wear on the edges. The tire guy says it's "cupping".
The MBenz dealer said it's because of uneven weight distribution due me towing a Jeep Wrangler on my road trips.
In your opinion does beefing-up the (rear suspension) with Sumo Springs will mitigate this problem?
Yeah, I'll have to fork out $'s for 2 new tires.
      Thanks.

I did happen to have seen a youtube video where this guy had issue with the sumo spring putting too much constant pressure on the bottom of the frame where the spring was mounted and causing the frame to push up cracking the van floor. He had to take it to a welder to have it repaired. Maybe he overloaded his van grossly. Anyway, I thought that you should use either Supersprings or Sumos, not both, in the rear. Have you talked with the company about using this combo? I just bought the Supers for the rear and the sumos for the front but have not install them yet. I tried to call them this morning to ask about using both for the rear but they seem to be closed on weekends.

Did you replace the shocks? With the age of your van I am sure they are not good anymore. Mine is 2015 and it made a huge difference. In the rear it’s just two bolts with an impact driver. After you do the front make sure to get an alignment.

After your recent upgrades to your vans suspension; Leaf spring stiffener and both sumo replacement shocks. Have you tested your van out on a washboard road? Not crawling over the bumps but driving at a reasonable speed without being reckless. Also, since the front bumpers are thicker, is there any problems with the additional stress the frame. That energy from the bumper is being transferred to the frame, laws of Thermodynamics

Great product. Has anyone reported after 150-200k miles of use. The mounting points were not engineered for the constant load these place on those areas.

I just replace with SumoSprings over the weekend and put new struts on with rear shocks. Its No 4.3 compass suspension but it's a hell lot better and cheaper. Hey hey if you got some downtime you should come down Omaha I'm just starting a Mercedes 170 extended 4x4 van build out. Earn some extra cash for the next trip Tom

I tried your vise grip method but not too successful. I am not strong enough, and/or I don't have enough leverage. After exhaustive trial, I came up with an idea, put a car jack under the screw driver. Whoala, smooth like butter. Works smarter, not harder.

Makes sense. All that kinetic energy from impact has to go somewhere. Good ol laws of thermodynamics.

A Mercedes mechanic said the same thing. Just because you have sumo springs in the rear doesn't mean that you can over load of run the van harder over bumps. .
I have a handrail installation business. I have about the same weight carrying tools as a camper.
I just bought the sumo bump springs to help with the ride.
I will be installing them when they arrive.

Someone doesn't know how rubber transfers and absorbs energy. A soft+bigger rubberised bumpstop is miles different than having a tiny+hard one that will bottom out your shocks when you hit a hole@@tun6006

Anyways good job on installing the systems ... I bought the same system for my sprinter and waiting for a warm day in Toronto to install them with my "Power Tools" hehehe😆

Of course they are much bigger than the original. It's something completely different. The original is a end stop. The new one is a spring. So that's something completely different. So you can't compare that.
