Very nice Ken. Looks like a special time spent by the waterfall woth the rats and the roaches.. Haa. Great to see Bear making a guest appearance. The next part must be the storm. That will be awesome. Start it up for the storm Ken..... ALL the best Sandy
Thanks Sandy. It was special to sleep in a rock shelter, where original bushcraft was practiced. Yes, the next part if on the 10 mile hike and storm. The storm continued the next day … so we practice bushcraft …. and learned a great deal from each other. At last, I learned how to easily make fire with flint and steel. Jonathan was successful with flint and steel on his first attempt! He now wants to come with me on camping trips! Yea. Tomorrow Jonathan and I leave for a 4 day trip (with Bob H) to Enchanted Rock, Tx. This is the largest granite rock dome in the USA. It is an 8 mile hike to rock around single granite dome/rock . Forecast is for rain; but we are prepared! Give my get well wished to Mandy. ATB, Ken

We had a blast, Josh. Camping with Bob was awesome~ If we lived closer to each other we'd get in "all sorts of trouble." We're beginning to plan the fall bushcraft gathering. Perhaps you can come?
Hi Ken, you're such a wonderful filmer and editor. Well I started watching your vids about two weeks ago. Now I'm a real big fan of your work and art. I really appreciate you're doin this for us. Thank you so much and hopefully you carry on for many many more vids. Best regards Frank
Hi Robert. It was special to see you and Jonathan in the morning. If we had more hot chocolate, we would have offered you some. Maybe next time. ATB, Ken
Videos like this are what inspires me to keep on getting outdoors. It really is a great video. Also, I just found your channel tonight and I am very happy I did. I have already watched about 10 videos and can not see what you have to share next. Thank you for all your hard work.
I am very close to retirement, and, am planning on purchasing an RV and live in it 6 months plus a year. Never gave much thought on this type of camping since my boy scout days. However, Yall have -perked- my interest on some -other- type of camping outside of the RV and much closer to nature. Thank you very much for the videos! I am now SERIOUSLY considering adding this type of camping to my retirement life style! But, lol, the RV will be my final destination in any excursion. God Bless. Keith Soon to retire police officer in the Houston area
Hi Keith. Congratulations on your upcoming retirement and your service as a police officer! Every day I drink coffee from a mug that states "Retirement signals the beginning of the life you were meant to live!" My mother-in-law gave me the mug 10 years ago. Mary and her husband purchased an RV immediately after retirement and lived in it for one year. They had a blast. I began tent camping as soon as I retired -- attempting to do things that we did as kids and as a family when I grew up Oh what memories. As I get older, I'm not able to do as much as we did as kids, but have just as much fun. . All the best, Ken
Thanks for sharing Sure is a beautiful neck of the woods you guys got to stay in. I love the cave camping - those water sounds sure are relaxing. Those rocks were very interesting shapes too. atb till the next one... Cheers Shz
Thanks Tony. It may be a few days before the next episode is uploaded…but it will be with the wait. (Jonathan and I are going on a 4 day camping trip tomorrow morning: Yea!) ATB … ken
Bob and I had a blast. I've wanted to sleep in a rock shelter for years; and the time was now. It felt better than after sleeping on my bed at home! Honest. Maybe it was the excitement... I learned so much from everyone and had a lot of fun. It was good to meet you in person, Darby. Stay tuned for tuned for the next episode .... Cheers, Ken
Thanks Ken this was fun, nice to see bear along with you, I live and travel in bear country every time I am out I have a little bear with bells all around her neck that jingle as I move through the bush she has been clipped to my pack since 1998. looking forward to more
Hi Greg, Bear had a great time on this trip; along with his human friends! Stay tuned, on the way back from the meet up, we stopped at the National Forest where Teddy Bears were invented. President Teddy Roosevelt went bear hunting …. I won't tell you the rest of the story…. but resulted in the invention of Teddy Bears and guidelines for sportsman hunting…. I plan to make a historical videos based on Teddy Bears and Theodore Roosevelt, who is recognized as the "conservation" President. And of course, Bear will be a star in this black and white silent movie. It's good to hear that you have a little bear with bells that jingles. Does the sound frighten bears or is if for fun? … ATB, Ken
That was awesome. A great camp spot. Looks like you had a good time. Bob's hot chocolate drinking made me laugh...I've done the same when it's _way_ too hot to drink but you wanna get the video recorded and out the way, haha. Atb..Donny.
Thanks Willy. You know through out most of human existence, human beings lived and slept in caves … so I read. So it felt only natural to try sleeping in one… a must do for my bucket list. And I must say, that it felt relaxing and peaceful. Also, it was not cold, the rock shelter provided a lot of protection from the weather. ATB, Ken
Wish I could have spent a day with you guys. Specially when you were sitting around those tables loaded with stuff. Would have loved to take a closer look at that saw, for example. And, I suspect much more. Don't know if I could have handled your inclined bed. Got a feeling my feet & legs would have been yelling at me after a few hours. Glad you could enjoy. Why do people always seem to knock on the door at the wrong time? Had to laugh at the timing of your visitors. Uncanny! Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the next episode.
What an awesome group of guys. especially enjoyed sleeping in the cave with you and bear. .. I learn so much from everybody. I definitely cannot wait for the fall meet up. I've been doing some research and Devil's Den in Arkansas looks promising. They do have a group camping area and they allow wild camping too... Maybe we could find another cave to sleep in... :-) lol LB just watch the video... he started jumping around when he seen him self. now he can't wait for the fall Meetup... I think the best shot of the whole video and don't be mad at me is us drinking hot chocolate. I think that is so cool how you set the camera up. I would never thought of . I have to say I'm learning so much from you... Excellent job in putting together the video ken... You get 10 thumbs up :-) PS. I'm a little wild flower :-)
I feel the same, Bob. I learned a lot from everyone and had a lot of fun. Yea, your wink drinking the hot chocolate is funny! I spend too much time in post production...but the results are worth it. Now I'm working through the footage for the 10 mile hike... This will test my post production editing skills! Always learning.... and laughing. Love your upload also! You may notice that some of your ideas area adapted in the next episode. The episode uploads will be interrupted for several days, and an awesome 4 day camping trip at Enchanted rock with Bob, Jon and I starts early sunday morning. You would this trip!!! Arkansas? Sounds good. Interested in doing a pre-look at the area? You and me check it out before the fall gathering. Ken
