Walking American Neighborhoods with Storm Clouds Ahead | Nature Sounds for Sleep and Study

  • Enjoy a stroll through American neighborhoods and suburbs with the anticipation of a storm in the air.
As the storm draws near, it evokes memories of childhood days spent playing in the streets with bare feet. The scorching summer sun would turn the pavement into a sizzling pan, and then the soothing rain would come to cool it down. The canvas of the sky painted by the storm feels just like it did back then.
During our journey, a whimsical turn of events occurred - a tiny drop of pine sap made its mark on the camera lens. You might catch a glimpse of it in certain lighting. Such is the charm of capturing moments in the ever-surprising embrace of nature.

    About:
Relaxing Walks, your source for quiet, commentary-free walks and drives in stunning 4K+ HDR quality. We record real-time binaural audio to bring nature's soundscape and ambience to you.
We began with a simple idea: share nature's visuals and sounds. Then, we saw the beauty in sharing the journey itself, not just the destination. Hence, this channel took its first steps, moving from static to dynamic.
We mainly film using a Sony FX30/E 11mm F1.8 camera and a Zhiyun Crane M3 gimbal for steady footage. Nature's sounds are recorded with a Zoom F6 and binaural microphones, and we polish the final product with Davinci Resolve Studio and Izotope RX.
The purpose of our videos is to provide an escape, potentially offering benefits such as relaxation, stress relief, and fostering a calming environment conducive to meditation, study, and sleep.
    Help:
Video note: If you're having trouble with video quality, please check that your device and internet settings can support 4K and/or HDR and that the TH-cam video quality is set as such.
Audio note: The audio in the video was recorded using binaural microphones in high quality, sensitivity and dynamic range for extremely realistic results. For the best audio experience, listen on a good pair of headphones while adjusting the volume until the environment sounds natural.

I have something similar regarding the Twin Towers in New York City. I'm not American and I've only been to NYC once, but for some reason, I always feel sorry and nostalgic when I see videos of New York having the Twin Towers, man I was 1 year old when 9/11 happened, but for some reason I have this specific feeling about New York, not sure how to explain.

American media is some of the worst media in the world that's for sure. I spent some schooling in Germany and their news compared to ours was absolutely insane. Think of our news as Buzzfeed, and their news as a current events lecture from the history professor of your school. I hate how violently awful our media has become -- and this isn't politically leaning, ALL media in America is abysmal.

I'm from Austria, which is a rather small country in the center of Europe and I live in the countryside and in a small village with a population of about 2000 inhabitants. I love doing sport and especially jogging. One aspect I have always found interesting is that in all these American countryside neighborhoods and mansion districts I hardly ever see any people going out for walks, or doing any activities at all. Here where I live, you would normally always see at least a hand full of people let's say walking along the sidewalks and so on. I imagine if I jogged through these American neighborhoods people might look at me from inside their houses and might think how strange I was doing that.😅

tube la experiencia de vivir en uno de estos barrios. Al principio muy feliz por la tranquilidad. Despues, poco a poco comence a sentirme mal.

I live in Portugal, and by all means it's a very nice country. It's one of the safest in the world, it's clean and it has a lot of history, a lot of beautiful places to visit. But still, places like this simply do not exist here. My country has a population of 10 million, which doesn't sound like a lot, but we're crammed into a very tiny corner of Europe, so the population density across the entire country is quite large. We have a few remote areas (although nothing like the US), and I do cherish them, but still, we don't really have vast areas that truly feel like the middle of nowhere, and certainly we don't have the space to build neighborhoods like this.
There is so much open space in these, so many trees, everything is so neatly organized. Hearing all the birds, the kids playing in the background, no traffic sounds. Sadly, this cannot exist here, and often times you get quite the opposite, many houses crammed into tiny spaces. Has its own charm, don't get me wrong, but at this point in my life it has become a little too much for me... too much noise, too many people surrounding you, it almost makes you feel claustrophobic. Sometimes I long for a bit of solitude, you know?
If you grew up somewhere like this, I truly envy you. I grew up watching American films where all the characters lived in such neighborhoods and I always craved living somewhere like this.

This is so interesting. I did grow up in the USA, and I still live here now as a 35 year old mother with kids and a house of my own in a suburban neighborhood just like this. However, I think most of us are missing that sense of community you describe. It is very picturesque and there is privacy here, but it’s hard to strike up conversations and build relationships with other neighbors… This country is very focused on the individual and not so much on a tribal mentality… But I think humans are meant to live in close connection with each other. That’s missing In most places in the US.

That was way more calming than I thought it'd be. I live in Cape Town in a neighbourhood that's slightly similar and I love to take walks. I've never considered taking a walk with someone on TH-cam before. It's also cloudy here (in June it's winter). Gives clarity of thought and I can get back to work feeling much more balanced. Thank you for these.

There's just something about the scale of the neighborhoods I don't like. Belgium and Germany have a lot of very similar suburbia but the streets are less wide and there are many visually engaging elements like bushes, hedges and garden decorations at a human scale.
To add some contrast, I like the openness of the American suburb more. There are less fances, or other barriers. The porches and park-like atmosphere at the front of the homes make for a quaint, pleasant neighborhood. Still, a few more plants instead of turfgrass wouldn't hurt.

Believe it or not, but there's modern suburban neighbourhoods in many European countries as well, with big houses, big gardens and 2 or 3 cars.
