This was an interesting one to film! It was a somewhat spooky but also relaxing walk. Salem, MA has such an historic past, I felt it was only fitting to film the alleys & illuminating lanterns at night. Hope you enjoy!

Salem resident here. Love that this can be shared. Especially with the streets cleared with the perfect atmosphere.
Next time go down Chestnut St. It is the gem of the city. Old colonial mansions along a one lane strip. Very quaint.

Hi there! Just curious, is it safe to walk at night in your town? I mean, compared to other US cities and towns.
Never take it for granted it could all change it only takes few bad apples to buy a house and the place will be a cesspit.

No it's not you try living here in Salem it's a total nightmare. Tourism has taken us residents hostage a good chunk of the year
Born there in 1950. Grew up and went to school in Salem. Family went back to early settlers. When I grew up, the whole witch history was taboo - rarely mentioned.
I haven't been back there for a few years. You inspired me to go. Thank you.

Salem has that creepy spooky gothic vibe that NOWHERE else I've ever been has.

@@EM-mw2qr Canaan, CT IS pretty creepy too. However Salem is just VERY VERY creepy. And it's not even just it's history that makes it creepy. There's something else like a "collective presence" there that makes it creepy -- I'm just SUPER sensitive to things like that.
It's a pretty town, with a LOT of historical significance, but there's just something creepy about it. I can't even really explain it. It was similar when I visited the Borden family home & museum in Fall River -- I got COMPLETELY creeped out. Like as in, HAD to leave because I was feeling some VERY malevolent, almost a demonic presence there. That's I think the creepiest experience I've EVER had. It scared me.
I went to college in Western Massachusetts (in Amherst) and there I didn't feel like that so much. A little bit maybe when I visited Emily Dickinson's house, but it wasn't ANYTHING malevolent. That place had good spirits.
My parents farmhouse in Southern Vermont that was built in the mid-18th Century (around the 1750's) though was CHOCK FULL of "spiritual presence" and I know I was "visited" on several occasions (ESPECIALLY when I was younger because spirits tend to target children to communicate with) and it was not ever really dangerous or anything demonic, but it was creepy sometimes -- until it first happened to me when I was about six years old, I didn't EVEN KNOW I had "it." Gradually over the years, I learned what being an empath meant.
After that, I kept it to myself because you know how people can be if you confide in them about that kind of stuff, they get weird with you.
I ❣️ New England (I live out West now but it's always "home" to me), but as the OLDEST part of the country, it's also creepy and haunted. I ❣️ that about it though.

A lovely walk. I like the statue of the girl and the crescent moon in the park.
That statue is of the character Samantha Stevens, the iconic lead character of a very popular TV sitcom of the 60s, "Bewitched". She was played by Elizabeth Montgomery. The character was born a witch, married to a mortal man, Darrin. They had two kids, also born witches. "Bewitched" centered a lot around the family trying to balance normalcy/mortal living with their natural connection to the supernatural world, via Samantha. Iconic show. The statue of Samantha is there obviously because the character was a witch. Hope that gives you some background on the statue. 😊

I'm a resident here in Salem and I can't get out like I used to and just walk anymore. There are alot of us that can't get out anymore. This was wonderful to watch. If this same exact walk was done on Halloween night when the season is at it's peak I could see the "revelers" it would be so great. Just to see what it was like. Thank You.
Such a cool historic town. Got to be great exploring in the wee hours of the morning, when everyone else in asleep. Almost serene. Completely different place during the day.
I just came back from Salem 2 weeks ago. I saw and did so much, but it wasn’t enough! I can’t wait to visit again! Such a beautiful town and friendly people!! I love the historic homes!😍♥️

this looks so weirdly european, the beginning with the wooden town houses looks like somewhere in sweden, and the rest of the city could also be in the netherlands, england or even germany. very cool to see places like this still exist in the US

3am is such an interesting time where many thoughts go deep, noises are quiet as possible and you are finally able to breath from all the busy daily routine.
This was spine shivering, utterly terrifying, what a horrific town. This sent a shiver right down my spine, I have goosebumps and chills I'm so scared.
Love this! I've only visited Salem once (so far!) and it was great to see some familiar sites, as well as some new ones. So peaceful to see it at this time of night.
I live 15 min away and 4k makes it look like a different place. Great job!

We did the same thing on our honeymoon there in October. We also walked through the residential parts, which are also beautiful at night.

I really enjoyed this video I live in Montreal Quebec Canada, I was very surprised not to see a single person on this long Trek, saw a couple of cats a few cars but not a single person that was really weird.

Really feel the extraordinary atmosphere! 😊 But sorry, I suddenly noticed that the lights were left on in the shops, and with such wide glass windows why are there no curtains the cover? and also in front of the shop directly facing the road. In Indonesia, all shops must have very tight rolling doors at the front. 😅
