- Joan of Arc was a young French peasant who led the French Army in the Hundred Years' War against England, making Charles VII of Valois crowned King of France. Later it was captured by the Burgundians and given to the English. The clerics falsely condemned her for heresy and Duke John of Bedford burned her alive in Rouen, on May 30, 1431.
She was beatified in 1909 by pope St Pius X, and canonized in 1920, by pope Benedict XV. That same year she was declared Patron Saint of France. Joan died a virgin, so she is considered Saint, Virgin, and Martyr in the Catholic Church.

The case for St. Joan of Arc was that of a young, brave peasant. One that, being a woman, was given special grace to fully detach from this world through defense of God in war. This is not something household women and wives are called to do, so please have more respect for the role that this saint played in the history of France and the Church.

1) She was true to her feminine nature, and never wanted nor pretended to be like men or compete with them.
2) She was humble and followed the path God traced her to help save her people. In following her they were following God's will. She wasn't following some arrogant fantasy to be "succesful and desired by the others".
Men don't truly follow nor respect women who pretend that are like men or that compete with them. Men can only truly respect women who are true to their nature. That's why is easy for a man to follow a queen for example, because a queen is a mother regarding her people.
Joan wasn't a queen, but she was like a mother to her people. The embodiment of God's will regarding France in that time: "you will win if you trust in this young woman".

I'm not a believer and yet, I have to admit that I genuinely admire this girl - she is one of the most tragic, yet inspirational characters in human history. I recently visited local cemetery in my town - oldest gravestones date to Napoleonic war and I have no idea who those people were, and yet I know who was this illiterate french girl, born and burned alive 500 years ago... That's practical, real immortality - she will never die, she will live thousands ,different lives, - people won't forget about her, long after individuals who condemned her to her death will become footnote in history... She changed course of history and she achieved real immortality - most of us, won't do that; our lives will be like blink of the eye

@Ferdinand Quartant non il voulait dire légitime légitime, la mère d'Edouard III était Isabelle de France Fille de Phillipe Le Bel et tout ses frères sont mort sans fils elle aurait donc du hérité de la couronne mais on a utiliser un 1er joker "les femmes ne peuvent pas gouverner" puis un deuxieme "les femme ne peuvent pas transmettre la couronne non plus" et on a mis roi de France Philippe VI le fils du frère de Philippe Le Bel (avec un schéma ça serait vachement plus simple)
