I bought this dvd the day it came out. I was just introduced to them through Hate Crew and was hooked. Alexi's ability to shred and sing was a true talent. RIP 😪
for me Alexi's death was like a bomb exploding on my chest, as if a friend I've personally never known died... he was probably the biggest influnce on me as a guitarist, but I must admit, I'll never be half the guitar maestro he was... well, drink in peace in the afterlife bar with all those metal heroes who left this world before you...:(
I have been in me bubble of covid and shit and just hear that Alexi had died like half year ago... I remember how I did once find working portable CD player, like walkman, with Bodom's first cd in it from trash after one Convention, Tabletop gaming one here in Finland, changed new batteries in it and plugged headphones and it did work! Did spend me 8 hour trip back to home just listening that cd in full sound! Still have both that player, still working, and that cd with me...
Their synergy, synchrony was amazing. I will never stop to enjoy that magic. But it will never gonna happen again, and that is the tragedy for me and for all of Hate Crew. You know, it's so fcking hard to stay positive now...
Janne and Alexi have ESP. They can literally hear each other's mind (hear, not read, because music). There's a video of Alexi and Janne writing the song "Transference" where Janne literally reacts a couple of milliseconds after Alexi throws him a chord to play. They're truly in a league of their own. So sad to see Alexi go this early. Makes you wonder what more he has to say through his music.
I must have watched the dvd of this gig about 500 times growing up, it was so amazing. Alexi was a true idol growing up, It's still a shock that he's gone. RIP Wildchild.
I remember watching this DVD with my friend and drinking while watching this ahah. Laiho wasnt perfect live, but he always gave a big show! He was a show man!
Even though it's been three years, hearing Suzie talk about Alexis passing still made me tear up a little... He's the only musician where hearing that he died genuinely made me cry, I still remember spending the entire day listening to nothing but Cobb when I first heard the news... 😢
It's very difficult to play fast standing up with the keyboard flat down, that's why he has it tilted like that. If it's flat, it will lock your wrist in almost 90 degree angle and that will hurt after a while. That's also why Tuomas from Nightwish has one of his keyboards like that. Check sometimes out when Tuomas plays one of the keyboards that is flat, for too long, he has to shake his hand in between because it starts to cramp.
The 1800's bicycle you are talking about is called a high wheeler. Where I grew up in California, there was a guy that had a couple of them, and he used to ride them around everywhere.
Watching this performance now brought a tear in my eyes. I've been listening full CoB albums starting from the beginning after the news and I've only finished the 1st one. I had to stop in the middle of the 2nd album RIP Alexi
The guy sitting in the car is Roope Latvala. He was the rhythm guitarist at the time lol. BTW janne told he can play faster keyboards tilted. Your wrists are not as stressed that way
About the thing with having the keyboard upright like that, I'm no musician, but I've heard from people in the industry, @Tankthetech among others that it's mostly just because it's easier on the wrists/hands from an ergonomic standpoint to play an entire 1-2-3 hour set like that than in the traditional way, and I guess it's an added bonus that it gives the audience a better view of what they are actualy doing on the keys I know Tuomas Holopainen from Nightwish usually has several keyboards, 2-3 I think, but only one of them is set up in this way the othera are usually in the "traditional" position
The only problem with fully appreciating this is...that you would have to be a 'god-level' guitarist AND keyboardist to understand what these guys are doing XD XD You guys have many comments so prob you have many answers already but yeah, it's not (just) for swag, but it's actually better for your wrists having the keyboard like that, more ergonomic.
You know what is funny? These people saw this and still went "we could make some metal music". I know that today they are mostly youtube reaction channel, but man seeing that :D
Amazing, now you guys have done a guitar and keyboard showdown, you now should do a drum battle you should check godsmack drum battle it's so cool, also you should check out chris Turner 40 roll its impressive very impressive. Amazing reaction guys to again another amazing band RIP to alexi again another musical genius taking from this world.
Finnish metal is the best metal of the world. Just like bands like a Wintersun, Children Of Bodom, Nightwish, Stratovarius, Sonata Arctica, Evil Drive, Battle Beast, Beast In Black, Sinergy, Norther, Impaled Nazarene, Warmen, Elias "Evil" Viljanen, HIM, Apocalyptica, Tarot, Thunderstone, Swallow The Sun, The 69 Eyes, Insomnium, Raskasta Joulua, Jarkko Ahola, Sentenced, Turisas, Stam1na, Hevisaurus, Brother Firetribe, Kenziner, Tarja Turunen. etc... Check all those bands because i bet you love some of them. Greetings Helsinki, Finland.
When you have keyboard like that, its because you want to have your wrist in a neutral position, or else you will strain your wrists. if your wrists are bent up, like if the keyboard was level to the ground. it would strain your wrist
its more ergonomic for the wrists to have the keyboard like that, when you wanna play standing up, and rockin / headbanging at the same time. Try doing that while sitting down ;)
janne is amazing, its insane how he kept up with alexi im pretty sure he plays keyboard vertical because it doesn't strain his wrists when he's playing
One of the best metal guitarist of all-time, the legend who won many "The best guitarist"-titles
True.
RIP Alexi. Such a talent taken way too soon. By the way the bike with a massive front wheel was called a Penny Farthing
I bought this dvd the day it came out. I was just introduced to them through Hate Crew and was hooked. Alexi's ability to shred and sing was a true talent. RIP 😪
Janne was jazz pianist but Alexi saved him for that. Rip💔 Alexi

most importantly the audience get's to see what he does...I think Janne and Alexi mentioned something like that on a Q&A "and it just lookes cool"
No, Janne said it's really easier to play this way and he's interesting why no one else plays right this way
The 1800's bicycle you are talking about is called a high wheeler. Where I grew up in California, there was a guy that had a couple of them, and he used to ride them around everywhere.
I got to see them at their first show in America. Austin Texas. I later got to play a show on the same stage. We miss you Wild Child! 🤘
Saw them years ago wen i was still in high school. Janne played Billy Jean in between songs lol it was awesome
It was so awesome👌 😔
Rest in peace guitar god

But I'm having trouble getting past Jon's face after about 4:08 ROFL He's just got some sort of perma-grin
R.I.P. to "The Wild Child" \m/
Melodie z jiného světa.Monstrózní fantastické.
He was good friend whit Nightwish Tuomas Holopainen and bands in Finland
The last part of the solo was Britney Spears haha
Another great duel between guitar and keyboard (Jani Liimatainen vs Jens Johansson) is in the Sonata Arctica song "Champagne bath".
Alexi...miss you and your music here in Finland and all over the world💔
Taking the keyboard like that is just easy for the player to play, easy to the wrists..
That's a beautiful piece of music. R.I.P. Alexi🤘
Well Finland is land of rock 👌👌
That keyboard position favors the forearm muscles.
yes and for the show!!
Oooooooohhhh! That makes total sense! Thanks!
@@metal-adjacent he said himself is just a bonus for the show, is only because is easier to play that way.
A very fitting tribute 🙏
@eddiepj45 good choice brother 🤘
Love you all also, and your channel is so funny,R.I.P. Alexi you will missed so much 🤘
Watching this performance now brought a tear in my eyes. I've been listening full CoB albums starting from the beginning after the news and I've only finished the 1st one. I had to stop in the middle of the 2nd album

perfect example for alexis virtuoso skills on guitar. janne isn´t bad too. thank you.

RIP alexi, we need more CoB in this channel
Ending the duel in 'Oops. I did it again!' :)
In German this bike with 1 huge wheel is named "Hochrad". In English it means Highwheel.🤔
He's the other guitarist Roope Latvala in that car hahah BTW, love your reactions!
The best musical battle in history, period.
That's so silly. We have lost an idol, someone some of us looked up to, Alexi is a legend, you aren't even close
Awesome!
Alexi was so awesome .. RIP

He has his keyboard up so it aligns with his hands because he always stands. Othewise he'd have a close to 90 degree angle between his arms and hands.
When you have keyboard like that, its because you want to have your wrist in a neutral position, or else you will strain your wrists. if your wrists are bent up, like if the keyboard was level to the ground. it would strain your wrist
Battle of the booze brothers
its more ergonomic for the wrists to have the keyboard like that, when you wanna play standing up, and rockin / headbanging at the same time. Try doing that while sitting down ;)
You should also check out Jaskas drum solo from this same DVD.
Janne said that is more easier/faster to play keys with your arms straight. He got the idea from Jens Johansson (Stratovarius/DIO/Rainbow/Y.Malmsteen)
Praise who caught that pick
RIP WILDCHILD!
RIC, You are touring with the Reapers now.
R.i.p alexi
R.I.p my idol

Did you get the views you expected
i hate that middle guy...
Not that innocent?
keyboard position is purely for audience so you can see it in the crowd. Rip Alexi
Why always talk a lot a crap in first minutes of the video...?
