Someone needs to step up and get the laws changed. Victims should be able to drop charges and those fines and years in jail are outrageous. You get less time for killing someone. It’s amazing how this messed up system works

He will have to have a court appointed lawyer & when your unfamiliar w the law, you have to trust that your attorney is giving you ALL of your options. When you don't know what your options are, it's unsettling. Especially when your a kid and have no clue what you're doing and the severities of allegations. Just knowing that there are 'Diversion Programs' to inquire about is Huge. Super Helpful. Thanxs for the Education! Question: With the impeding of breath charges, does a no-contact order or a emergency protective order ( that you talked about) automatically go into play for the victim or is that something separate that the victim would have to file?
You’re no Bruce Rivers. He’s a defense attorney with a channel as well and he tells his listeners to never put a hand on a woman and you make a living getting them out of a weak family law system. There are a lot of domestic violence cases that don’t meet the standard for being arrestible but when the line is crossed, punishment and enforcement should be just as swift and severe as the attack. The only justice for victims is these bullies can’t afford an attorney.
Im going to trial 7/10/23 for a class C misdemeanor of family violence. I have no attorney but I have a video from a separate day she hit herself in the face and told me she was calling the cops and saying I hit her. Im going to show that and she did this before when I left her for another woman but the city Police wouldn’t press forward because she changed her story 3 times and waited 3 weeks to make a accusation and only then the day after I had left her. I don’t know how to get proof of that incident though
I have a question, if you feel comfortable to answer. Did you show them this and if so did they take your side or if you did show them, what did they say? This is the same situation I'm going through
