As a 15 year old kid working my first "real" job across the street from the closed Woolworth's store, I watched the workers destroying the store. I walked across the street and after much argument, I convinced this elderly man on a ladder, in white overalls, to give me one of the original signs from the late 1800s. I still have it. I love it. It's one of my favorite things. Thanks for this! I enjoyed it!😀👍
Thank you to the school for letting you into the Woolworth museum. So many wonderful old things. I remember so many of them. The sliver thing you thought was a napkin dispenser is actually an old toaster. You pull the door down and put a piece of bread in the slot in the door and then you close it up. There's another door on the other side. When the bread is toasted. You open the door and turn the bread around and toast the other side. Now you see why we have pop up toasters. LOL. The thing that looks like an adding machine is really a check imprinter. You slid the levers to the amount of the check. You slide the check in and pull the handle down. The amount of the check is then imprinted on the check. I used to use one of those in a job I had. It's so wonderful to see all these things from my childhood. I remember they used to have a Woolworth on Market street in San Francisco. Right where the cable cars turn around. Thank you Jordan for bringing us here and getting lucky to go inside and show us all these wonderful things. Glad to see our man Jah looking good. Thanks again for all you do for us. Safe Travels and Take Care.
In the early 70's , We had 5 kids in our family. Every week we would get our 50 cent allowance and ride our bikes perhaps 2 miles, but felt like 20 and we would end up at the Woolworths dept. Store in Hanford, CA. We spent every penny and came home with most of those toys in that museum. I truly enjoyed this vlog. Thank you jordan!
Great vlog Jordan!! I'm 63 yrs. old and for just a few minutes, I was a 10 year old girl again, peering into the hamster cages to see which one I would be taking home to mom. ( along with parakeets and goldfish through the years) Then stopping at the lunch counter for a banana split, picking a balloon to see how much I would pay for it that day. Such wonderful memories from such a wonderful store located in Fair Lawn, NJ!! Now, I get to go to Walmart, Ugh!! Thumbs up!!
I can't tell you how many times as a kid I would have sat at the stools and ordered food. My mother worked there at as young girl, then at Kress. It was a fantastic store with so much to offer and so much fun! Thank you so much, Jordan for bringing these memories and all the great times I had there!
Hello Jordan the Lion, You have no idea how this episode touched my heart!! Our Mother Dolores and Father Elfego met at a Woolworth 5 and 10 Cent store in our hometown!!! Our Mother and Father wedded in 1945, to bring in a family of 11 children, 18 Grandchildren, 30 Great-Grandchildren and 4 Great-Great Grandchildren!!! Our Father passed in 2004 and our Mother in 2019, we love and miss them, but are grateful, to have them had them here on earth,as long as we did!! Thank you soooo much!! Estella :) LC, New Mexico 11/29/19
My great aunt retired from Woolworth in the 80's and closed in 1994...it's now a Best Buy. The last 400 stores closed in 1997. This tour brings back childhood memories.
Again Jordan, you just preserved the history of Woolworth's on "film". Now it won't be lost. I think you have preserved so much that is already lost. Thank you.
When I was a kid Woolworth store was the walmart of the day but way more personal and friendly . They had a food service area with great food staffed by local folks who cared about the quality of the food which was great at our local store . I was last there in 77 and had enough money for a donut on my way to a summer job interview . Our Woolworth store closed pretty soon after that day . It was a great store with lots of great memories for me ....I sure miss those days ..God Bless
I remember a lot of that stuff from when I was a little girl . I wish they would come back again . That brought back good memories . Thanks for taking us along Jordan !!
@Bonnie Brown I know what you mean. My grandmother would take me there every Saturday for lunch and we'd always order the Salisbury Steak. I'd get a 45 (record) with my allowance and my grandmother would buy me a package of cashews to munch later in the afternoon. The building still stands to this day & I can't go past it without saying, "There's where the old Woolworth's 5 & Dime stood." Ahhh....the memories! Jordan brought them all back in a rush! Love his videos!
@@qtbrniis , the one we went to was in Atlanta Ga. My mother and my grandparents and great grandparents lived up near Atlanta back in the 40's , 50's , 60's , and 70's. I remember going shopping with my mother and my aunt Cheryl in Atlanta and we'd go to Woolworths . I remember them having the white and green striped awnings in front of the store . I was just a little girl when I went . Then we would go over to Riches to go shopping . Of course sadly things have changed a lot in Atlanta since way back then . We all moved away from that area in the early 70's . I don't know when Woolworths shut down here , but that will always be great memories especially at Christmas time .
I hope New York City needs to open a Woolworth Museum which is going to be in the iconic Woolworth Building which is in Lower Manhattan, and it will have the same memorabilia as it was in this former museum in Bakersfield, CA.
This brought back some great memories. My mom, sister and I would walk to the Woolworth's in nearby Oak Park, IL in the early 1970's. I remember getting an almost life-sized stuffed toy St. Bernard dog for my 8th birthday, and numerous goldfish through the years. Loved that store! Thanks so much, Jordan!
WOW, Jordan, does this bring back wonderful memories and I thank you for exploring this museum and posting this for your fans. I saw the Woolworth map of Texas and we grew up shopping at the one in Dallas. My mom would let me have free reign of the store while she went down the street to shop for boring things. The three things I remember the most are the pet dept. where I bought several canaries, a hamster, and a turtle, the record dept. where they would actually play your 45 rpm to check for scratches, and the lunch counter. They made the best toasted turkey sandwiches with fries and a vanilla malt. Really good times. Thanks again.
As a kid in the 60's, I always spent my 10 cent allowance at Woolworth's. I remember the lunch counter, vending machines, photo booths and all that stuff. Love that you are able to get into places we can't! Thanks for the trip down memory lane, Jordan!
I used to love to go to Woolworths. I used to work at a Broadway store next door to a Woolworths and I used to eat at the lunch counter there just about every day. People are always so nice and friendly. I miss that place
Nostalgia at it's finest! what a fantastic stroll down memory lane. thank you for sharing this, brings back many memories. They REALLY need to make a museum for the public with all the things left from Woolworth's so these things are preserved for a long time to come!
Thanks for those Woolworth memories Jordan. I remember eating at the lunch counter with my mom, aunt and siblings. I remember buying those candy cigarettes, ball & jacks, jump rope, hula hoops, squirt guns, puzzles, sewing patterns, material for my sewing classes at school. Glad a piece of the museum was still there. Great vlog, Jordan and nice seeing Jah all nice & cozy waiting for his daddy to come home❣️❤️🙏🏻🐕🦺
How fun! I so remember Woolworth's lunch counter. I still have the kitschy, bronze-metal, horse statue Grandma purchased for me for $1.98 (over 65 years ago!). Yes indeed, Woolworth's was a part of my younger years!
You did it again! You found and entered a place, that most of us would never be able to see!!! I love the way you do things for us and yourself!! TY!! Loved Woolworth's!! Another place that is just a memory!!
My uncle was the postmaster in a tiny post office in central Pennsylvania and had a pop machine like the one in the vlog with all kinds of flavors for a dime at the side of the building. He always had an ashtray full of dimes on his desk and after I went and greeted him (I did love him, too) and we'd talk a little, he'd always ask if I wanted one for some pop and I never turned him down. It was probably in the late sixties until 1971 when he passed away. He was one of the nicest people in the world. So thanks for the memory, Jordan. The entire post takes me back, I'm 57!
Great video! Im from that area and back in the 80's my mom and my sister both worked at that Oxnard Woolworths for several years. It was a sad day when it closed. I wish they'd re-open the museum. Thanks for doing this video, Im so glad you were able to get inside. Love all the old memorabilia.
So very cool. I cannot tell you how many hours I spent in our local Woolworth’s. I had to take a city bus to High School everyday. Many days I would avoid a crowded bus by getting a Chocolate Coke at the counter and catch a later bus. I remember stretching my Christmas Shopping allowance by getting neat stuff at Woolworth’s that was less expensive then at the Sear’s across the street.😂 What a flashback! Neat that you preserved, once again, something that may soon be lost! 😎
I have great memories involving Woolworths Department Store. My grandmother use to treat me as a kid before we would go see a movie. We would get our candies there. This was the 70s in Connecticut. Great memories! Thank you Jordan. 😀
Oh the memories this vlog invoked in me. I have some Christmas decorations from Woolworths with the original packaging that my mom passed down to me when I got married. I will be getting them out today when I start decorating for Christmas. Thanks so much Jordan for a special vlog!
What a nice walk down memory lane ! My Grandma loved Woolworths & took us when we visited her in Boston. I received the loom at 5 & the chemistry set at 8 & later a microscope at 9 she got there. I just thought of it now, perhaps these things from my early childhood left me to study Science & work in microbiology. Wow, goes to show you even someone you loose from your life at age nine can make a difference.
Sad that great history is fading away from us, but this brought back awesome memories of the Sixties, when my friend's and I would meet up at Woolworth after school for milkshakes..Boy those were the days
Wow. Memories. My mother use to work the makeup counter at Woolworth's way before I was even born. The soda counter was cool. You could get ice cream floats and stuff. Jah, sweet boy. He is my fav. Thank you Jordan for the trip down memory lane. You are definitely a jewel!!! Much love to you and Jah ❤❤❤🦁
Luckily I researched this before responding. It is, indeed, a toaster. I had never seen anything like this, but evidently used for its looks as people sitting at the lunch counter could see the equipment used.
Woolworths in Australia are all supermarkets but up until the 1990's we also had Woolworths variety department stores as well. They stocked just about every kind of homeware item you could imagine.
Darrin Lawton I am in Australia the Woolworths here are known as supermarkets mainly food with a few homewares. I had never seen Woolworths variety department stores what part of Australia were those stores. Thanks 🙂
I've lived in Sydney all my life and Woolworths had variety department stores in suburbs all over Sydney.....my ex-wife worked at the store in Bankstown square in the mid 80s. At some point I believe the Woolworths variety stores were rebranded or absorbed into the Big W chain. Of course the Woolworths name was retained for the supermarkets. Coles also had a chain of variety stores as well until they also closed some time in the early to mid 80s.
I guess each State had different shops. I worked for Coles and we had variety department stores they didn’t close shops but they did change the stores which became supermarkets with limited homewares. Sadly things did change it was nice to be able to grab whatever you needed in one place. Thank you for your reply.🙂
I remember the Woolworths here in Niagara Falls Ontario Canada. I loved the lunch counter and can remember my Mom taking me for those hamburgs. It was on Queen Street and next door to a similar store "Kresge's" Fond memories of buying little trinkets there when I first started getting an allowance. Thanks for the vlog and for taking me back in time, Jordan.
They should of kept the museum part of history, to bad it’s closed! I still remember Woolworth , now they turned it into a Foot Locker! Thanks for taking me along your adventures! Saying Hello from Chicago! ☺️
I loved Woolworth they had all kinds of unique items. There are no stores like the old 5 & dimes. It's a shame now all store have the same crap. I miss them. Great video👍. Thank you. Happy Holidays🎅🎄.
When I was really young there was a super old one close to my house it had an old creaky wood floor and all the shelves were old wood and glass I absolutely loved that store! Sad that's gone. So sweet you got to show us a peak!! Awesome!!
When I was growing up in Santa Barbara we had a Woolworth, a Newberry, Rexall, and Thrifty's. All of them had lunch counters and the same sort of items. I remember buying all my 45s at Woolworth and all my sewing patterns and fabrics and such at Newberry and although the banana splits at Woolworth were awesome the best deal was a three scoop cone for 15 cents at Thrifty.. Such great memories. Then you Jordan!!
Donna Gutierrez I remember when I was a little, getting excited to go to the Newberry store where my grandma lived, because our town had a Woolworth but not a Newberry. Lol
@@qhorson2555 as I was only 14 when we moved to Arizona I hadn't worked yet. My Dad was a DJ at KIST and he worked at Silverwoods on State. I did volunteer at the Devereaux School in Isla Vista just so I could ride and exercise the Horses. Such freedom then in the 60s could ride the Horses all up and down the beach.
Hi try visiting Woolworths in Bakersfield is an antique store fully open but it also has the original lunch counter in operation and you can get all the old foods it’s a lot of fun
Hi Jordan, WHAT A JOY, a lovely trip down Memory Lane. I was so sad when Woolworths went, it was a fabulous store which had it all and ALL at reasonable prices. Woolworths had everything from cutlery to pipe cleaners. I have just been going round our old store in my head after watching this. I still have a couple of old 1970's paper Christmas decorations which I bought from there and just keep now as a memory. Big fuss for the Jahster. Great vlog Jordan.
I just turned 60 this year and I can remember a lot of these things When I was in the 9th grade I would go down the street from school and eat at Woolworths in MtSterling , Ohio The memories. Thank you!! A great video!!!
Loved this video. My fav place to go as a little kid was Woolworths. Always went with my mom and remember the Christmas Holiday decor that they would have. My mom would get some awesome decorations. I truly do miss Woolworths.
This was great walking down memory lane. I worked the lunch counter when I was 16-17 and loved every minute of it. The loom you talked about was for making pot holders. I recognized several things in the show cases. Jordan this was great and thank you so much. Much love to you and Jah and have a great day.
This was so cool. It shows why you are so good at this, research & persistence. It would have been a good video just from the outside, but it turned into a super special vlog.
I miss WoolWorths, best shop ever when I was growing up, especially the pick/mix. It was the only shop open over Christmas here in Britain. Thank you for showing us this, brings back memories. Xx🇬🇧💕
I remember when the Beatles became the sensation, I recall the photo displays of different things that they had. Wish I’d bought a few. Also recall sitting at the counter and walking all over the store. Thank you so much for this vid. Ah, what great old memories . . . & I do mean OLD.
Thanks for a lovely piece of my childhood Jordan. I actually had a baby blue eyes and the ball and jacks. The F.W. Woolworths was a huge part of my childhood years! Nicest memories ever! Happy Thanksgiving weekend from Michigan~
Hey wow, really neat how they let you inside to see what was left of the museum! It made my day to see that Monkees 45 in the display case, too. And when I hear the word "Oxnard", I immediately associate it with the band Dr. Know. I dunno why, but I just do maybe cuz of Brandon Cruz.
Jordan, I truly enjoyed going back to my childhood memories of Woolworth's (and Kresge's) discount stores from this museum visit. I recall walking up and down the aisles, while my mom shopped for hours, looking for her favorite cosmetics, snacks, and hair accessories. One thing I remembered which I don't think anyone has mentioned, is the luscious aroma of caramel and fresh-made popcorn that permeated in the air as soon as one walked in through the heavy glass doors. So glad they allowed you to videotape these wonderful memories.
I really enjoyed this vlog. I remember so many of the items you showed that they used to sell. Glad you captured these last glimpses of a time gone by.
I used to love going to our Woolworths in downtown Rochester New York for many years, I would go with $20 and have a wonderful lunch and buy Christmas presents for 10 people LOL. Not kidding.
Wow lots of memories from when I was little. I was born in 1964, in 1972 we moved to a Brand new mill town that was only 5 hrs old. Nothing was old there, even when I was the old department stores held a certain mystic. I remember a 5 and dime store when I was little, I liked it because my mom would buy us stuff sometimes. I live I Canada and we loved on Vancouver Island before moved. I remember big department store in Duncan BC, It was a big Eatons store that was still family priced back then. I remember a dusty old hardware store. I remember In Price George when we moved up north had a Woolco which is a Zellers now and a Woodward’s, I liked that store it was a couple floors, they had the best toy land at Christmas time. My mom shopped there a lot. I remember Kresges, Eatons. The department stores are just not the same. Oh and the lunch counter! A lot of memories. Sorry I ran on so long.
Thanks for this Jordan! Very cool that you got in only to check out more than initially thought! I kept pausing as I had memories of most of the toys...certainly of the lunch counter. That was a big deal as a child ; - ) Thank you for the smiles! Safe travels!
As a kid , my first Baseball cards , Books 45's, LP'S & cassettes were all purchased ( or pocketed ! ) at a New York City Woolworths . They had , everything.
I can guarantee that 50 years from now there will be no Wal-Mart museum. Just a bunch of rotting bluildings. Thank for the experience Jordon! Kids of today don't know what they are missing!
I remember the Baker's field Vlog! I remember going as a kid in downtown Boston, peanuts they kept under like hot lamps-and chocolates of every kind! My mom still has the Angel tree topper we got years ago taking the train in during the Holidays! Ty for sharing, lots of great memories from Woolworth's! Never knew there was once a museum! Ty for taking us along.
Wow, what a nice journey to WoolWorth's. I loved their custard ice cream and banana splits. The waitresses were the most professional and nice ladies. I remember that stamp machine. Got a roll of .25 cents. Now costs you .55 cents for ONE stamp! Greed has come a long way!
Congrats on 1200 Jordan, I used to love going to woolworths with my mother in Waltham, MA when I was a little kid. Every time I would get a slice of apple pie at the counter with a huge scoop of vanilla icecream on top. The nice lady that was always there would give me a free giant glass of milk. She said thank you for always cleaning up after myself & being polite. Once they retired the lunch counter I knew the store was screwed. It was replaced with Family Dollar & instead of going in every couple days we would go there maybe twice a month.
That is cool to see what's left of such a huge empire. That was very nice to let "all of us" in with you Jordan to see it. Thank you for thinking outside the box and preserving this part of American retail history. Enjoyed the nostalgia.
The Australian Woolworth stores facades in the 1950/60/70's looked exactly the same. So many memories flooded back looking at this video. Thanks Jordan.
This is not the Woolworths you took us to awhile back, right? It was ........oh, thank you it’s not the one in Bakersfield! I couldn’t find it going through your multitudes of vlogs. So glad that one is still there!
Jordan, this was one of you coolest vlogs ever! How I remember Woolworths growing up and going there with my Mom!Their food was delicious at the counter and the clothes and items were so affordable! You always get lucky, and they let you in, in places; that you thought that you couldn't! 😎👍 The last Woolworths, I'd gone to was in San Diego on 5th & C St. And that was in 2000; so 20 years ago! Good memories! (My Mom still wears the dusters and clothes that she got from there!)😅
And I remember all of those toys and candy! All which were about .5 cents and .10cents! That photo both was famous and we all still have those snap shots with our friends! Yeah!! At our parents home! 😄
We had a Woolworth in our small town and every Christmas they had a huge Santa Clause in the store front window and the head honcho, the big cheese would wave as we drove by the store. A lot of once popular stores have vanished, Sears, G. C. Murphy's Five & Dime. Our downtown was so busy, the auxiliary police had to direct traffic. Remember the parking meter's and the meter maid? Speaking of famous stores, my 1924 house is a Sears & Roebuck which arrived in town on the train. Sears use to sell the Allstate automobiles during the 1952 and 1953 model years. Oh, we also had a Guarantee Auto and Western Auto. Times have dramatically changed!
I can remember a lot of those items from frequent trips to the Woolworth store in Reisterstown Maryland and the best banana splits in town. You brought back a lot of memories for me Jordan, Thanks !! . You and your channel Rock, keep up the great work !
Lovely to see what was left of the museum, thank you for showing this Jordan... We had a lot of Woolworth stores here in the UK, and they were a big part of our high streets. I remember buying a Black Beauty figurine with my brother, for our parents 25th wedding anniversary in 1980... it was really sad when they closed in 2009!... My local store is now a British Heart foundation charity shop (goodwill store to you)...I'm tripping down memory lane now 😀👍
The International Civil Rights Museum is located in the Woolworth building in Greensboro. They kept the famous sit-in lunch counter (part of it is at Smithsonian AmHist, too) as an exhibit.
Oh Woolworth's! The mini Wal-Mart of my youth. Coty face powder, got it. Little tin of pot rouge that came in only one color- red, the cake mascara with a tiny wand for application. My Mom's favorite make up staples. And the 1950's style counter with bar stools to get your root beer float before you leaving. Young folks missed out on an icon from a by gone era.
I miss WoolWorth's. I remember going to WoolWorth's when I was much younger, lol, with my grandmother and my mom. I wish they would bring back WoolWorth's and other similar stores that are no longer around like Clover and Best. Great video!
Awesome vlog Jordan. I was a woolworth's kid my mom worked the lunch counter in the parma ohio store when she could not get a sitter I would go to work with her and sit at the lunch counter coloring in my underdog coloring book until my grandfather got home from work. Loved woolworth's used to get everything there . They always had the best Halloween costumes.
@@gaylemae i just met a lady from parma, ohio a month ago in a store, i live near sacramento, california, came to california from lima, ohio, over 40 years ago. Went to high school in cleveland🎅, no snow here, happy 2020!!
I still have my "photo booth" pictures from back in the day of mid 80's. I didn't know those were universal in their stores. Very cool!!! Awesome vlog!!!! Thanks Jordan!
Hey, during the 60s and 70s my mom and I went to woolworths every Saturday. It was fun for us to shop there. I remember buying my 45 s in the basement. Lol I remember all those toys you showed. It had everything we wanted. Including Christmas gifts. Oh the memories!!
Totally awesome Jordan 🙋♀️. Wow those ladies literally lived at their job 9-10!!!! Wonder why they didn’t hire some as shorter shifts to relive the full timers🤷♀️. But then again back in that day PEOPLE needed to work....and they did! If I were to pick my adult generation it would of been in the ‘50’s☺️. From an Ohioan 🎯
We have the BBQ's 25CTS sign above our pantry that was from the Woolworths in our downtown. My friend and I used to take the bus to downtown for a BBQ and a fizzy cola and I bought the sign when it closed years ago. Thanks for the cool tour Jordan...hope you are having a fun holiday.
What a neatbunespected tour! They sure had a lot! Can't believe bn it's not actually open anymore. You're right about pipes and cigarettes. I remember there bvb were bubbles blowrsvthat were pipes. Even toys that blew smoke.
Hello from Greensboro NC and we have a Woolworth's on Elm Street. It has been turned into a Museum. It was used for a Set In over Civil Rights in the 60s.
Woolworths is one of history’s iconic stores. So many of the items are from my childhood that I had forgotten. It’s a shame this bit of history is being destroyed. Maybe Amazon will one day have a museum.
Love this vlog as a child we had two Woolworths in Dublin in Ireland my late Mum would bring us to get us the ice cream it would be whipped in a cone it was lovely I have never tasted anything like it since also french fries delicious great memories of my wonderful late Mum Thanks Jordan for this lovely vlog and good memories of childhood Lots of Love Jordan and Jah and Hi to Amy and all Lionheart's Marie Dublin Ireland
This sure brought back some good memories. I loved the lunch counter. I was sad when they closed. I guess the nearest thing to it would be Target ??? I don't know. The food was really good at Woolworths.
I'm from Toronto, Canada. I want that George Bell card! 😁😉 I miss Woolworth's lunch counters! Best memories with my mom whilst shopping... French fries w/ gravy and a BLT! Thanks for the vid!
Ah! Woolworths ! Hello Jordan ! ~ I do think everyone misses Woolworths now their gone ! ~ We had a really big store in Bradford were I live ~ It was built on 4 or 5 levels ! ~ I have great memories about this store ... The goods that they sold as well as the classic architecture of this amazing building ! But strangely the one I dream* about is a very large Woolies that was based on the on the sea front in Morcambe - Which was 12 - 15mins drive below the famous Blackpool ! This Wooworths was massive ! Size of a football pitch ~ Bigger maybe ! ~ A giant square ! ~ It sold everything ! Items for the toursts and of course items for the people that lived in Morcambe ~ When you were inside and were paying at the tills(the big clunky ones) ~ You looked out through those giant massive glass windows they had and just by the road were the normal traffic + the Tram tracks where the famous Blackpool trams ran up and down the sea front ! ~ Over the road was the promanade ~ And in all it's glory you could see the Sea either coming in or going out ~ What a lovely place * No wonder I dream of it ? ~ A great place like that was like heaven to a child 6 or 7 onwards all those toys and the sea front ! ~ Every year we went same 2 weeks in August same bording house Mrs Austins !
my grandma (rip 2004) called it "the 5 and dime". You spotted the smile pin and I absolutely paused. I am sure she carried me around in one of them stores in the early 70s, when I was a baby. I have narrowed it down to waltham mass... just a couple of miles from home. she loved those places. Anyway, there is a lady who gets credit for emojis/emoticons.. one could argue it came from elsewhere. thanks for the tour, that was nice of them.
Jordan, I remember the Woolworths in my town, Hamilton Ontario Canada, when I was little, we used to go there to use the old photo booth, and eat. I have fond memories of the place, thanks for bringing them back for me!
As a local from Oxnard, it’s really interesting learning about this. I’ve been walking around that area my whole life. It’s really cool to know you’ve hit my neck of the woods. Been a fan of your videos for a while now. If you’re ever back In town, beer on me.
The Woolworths in my town , Nelson BC Canada. Closed in 1994. The 1940's style lunch counter was still in operation. It was where everyone got new school clothes and school supplies.
It's a shame the Woolworth's museum is closed. You got lucky and got to see what was left. That so cool :)
I remember a lot of that stuff from when I was a little girl . I wish they would come back again . That brought back good memories . Thanks for taking us along Jordan !!
That’s how I always feel too. Like I’m going along with Jordan on one of his adventures. Lol
I remember all of those as well.
Were nice and friendly
Nostalgia at it's finest! what a fantastic stroll down memory lane. thank you for sharing this, brings back many memories. They REALLY need to make a museum for the public with all the things left from Woolworth's so these things are preserved for a long time to come!
I loved going to Woolworth as a kid. Brought back memories. Thanks for showing us! Great to see Jah❤🐾
Had my first job at Woolworth, back in the 70's.
What you said was a napkin dispenser is actually a toaster. I love your enthusiasm for all things of age. I believe you are an old soul!
Hi! This was awesome! Enjoyed everything you came across. So happy they let you in to film it!
Thank you for the memories as you shared your Woolworth's adventure! Sad to know the museum is closed.
When I was really young there was a super old one close to my house it had an old creaky wood floor and all the shelves were old wood and glass I absolutely loved that store! Sad that's gone. So sweet you got to show us a peak!! Awesome!!
I grew up in Oxnard. I remember going in that store. Thanks Jordan. Good memories.
Lol
Same thing here in Ventura..... They were originally on Main St.
I worked at Thrifty's on State St when Piccadilly square was next door and the one in Oxnard at center point.
I remember going to Woolworth's on State St in the mid to late 80s
Hi try visiting Woolworths in Bakersfield is an antique store fully open but it also has the original lunch counter in operation and you can get all the old foods it’s a lot of fun
I was a 70s kid and I had one of those punching balloons. I remember my grandma taking me to Woolworths.
Amazing vlog! I enjoy old timey vintage things just like this. Luck was on your side again, which made it lucky for us too. Thank you!
My mom had a rain bonnet she always used and kept in her purse.
My mum did as well 😂
Same
Same here😊
My grandma had one as well. They all had those scarfs they put on their hair to keep in place to drive etc. Lol 😆

How wonderful.....brings back memories of my grandmother and I meeting there. She bought my first compact at Woolworths or Kresses.
I just turned 60 this year and I can remember a lot of these things
When I was in the 9th grade I would go down the street from school and eat at Woolworths in MtSterling , Ohio
The memories.
Great vlog!! Remember this so well, great memories.Glad you got to get in and see all the cool old stuff.
I used to love going to our Woolworths in downtown Rochester New York for many years, I would go with $20 and have a wonderful lunch and buy Christmas presents for 10 people LOL. Not kidding.
Wow lots of memories from when I was little. I was born in 1964, in 1972 we moved to a
Brand new mill town that was only 5 hrs old.
Thanks Jordan!! That was so BEYOND Awesome!! Totally cool!
Thank you!
That is cool to see what's left of such a huge empire. That was very nice to let "all of us" in with you Jordan to see it. Thank you for thinking outside the box and preserving this part of American retail history. Enjoyed the nostalgia.
Thanks for sharing, it brought me back when I was a little girl. So happy the building was not destroyed. Love videos like this!
I hope all those museum pieces stay there and taken care of
The Australian Woolworth stores facades in the 1950/60/70's looked exactly the same.
The last Woolworths, I'd gone to was in San Diego on 5th & C St.
Love this tour. Woolworths was wonderful.
My local store is now a British Heart foundation charity shop (goodwill store to you)...I'm tripping down memory lane now 😀👍
I'm still grieving for Woolworths, miss it so much.
Little tin of pot rouge that
came in only one color- red, the cake mascara with a tiny wand for application. My Mom's favorite
make up staples. And the 1950's style counter with bar stools to get your root beer float before you
leaving. Young folks missed out on an icon from a by gone era.
Nashville has an old Woolworth store that they have remodeled and it's a store and restaurant like before. Food is great!
I miss WoolWorth's. I remember going to WoolWorth's when I was much younger, lol, with my grandmother and my mom. I wish they would bring back WoolWorth's and other similar stores that are no longer around like Clover and Best. Great video!
What an interesting place to visit. It sure would get a person into the Christmas spirit.
When I was younger and on a tight budget, I did most of my Xmas shopping at Woolworth's.
They always had the best Halloween costumes.
john lincoln I grew up in Parma in the 60’s & 70’s!
@@gaylemae i just met a lady from parma, ohio a month ago in a store, i live near sacramento, california, came to california from lima, ohio, over 40 years ago. Went to high school in cleveland🎅, no snow here, happy 2020!!
Cool vlog Jordan! Thank you for showing this. You got very lucky to go inside and see what is left.
I still have my "photo booth" pictures from back in the day of mid 80's. I didn't know those were universal in their stores. Very cool!!! Awesome vlog!!!! Thanks Jordan!
Sue G. - Geez, I still have my photo booth pics too.
I loved this vlog and loved going to Woolworth’s as a child. Lots of fun memories. Thanks for taking us here, Jordan!
I miss Woolworth's lunch counters! Best memories with my mom whilst shopping... French fries w/ gravy and a BLT! Thanks for the vid!
Great vlog ! Nice to see antiques of old times . Brings back childhood . Thx .
Good on you Jordan. Thank you to the folk who let you in to explore..........wonderful
